Ben Rector has a theory: The beauty of life is in the ordinary moments. On his new album, The Walking in Between (August 20, 2013), he sets those ordinary moments to some extraordinary music. Over the course of the thirteen tracks on The Walking in Between, Rector reflects on life's simple pleasures, offers a fresh view on matters of the heart, examines the pursuit of material wealth, and recognizes the importance of the subtle struggles and modest victories of everyday living. Produced by Jamie Kenney, Charlie Peacock and Rector himself, The Walking in Between is the first release on Rector's own label, Aptly Named Recordings. The new set follows his previous two successful independent releases, 2010's Into the Morning and 2011's Something Like This, which together have sold over 70,000 copies independently. Both albums were iTunes leaders, with Something Like This reaching No. 1 on the digital retailer's Singer/Songwriter Albums chart. Tracks from both albums appeared in multiple television shows, including One Tree Hill, Castle, The Neighbors, SportsCenter and Pretty Little Liars. Having toured consistently since his junior year at the University of Arkansas, the young artist has spent the past six years building an impressive fan-base that enables him to routinely sell-out clubs and theaters nationally.

Wonderful music and awesome Amazon MP3 set-up
This is my first album for this artist and I must say I am impressed. The songs are very soothing to listen to and the lyrics have wonderful meaning. I keep it in my car and I always get complements from friends and family when they ride with me. I would buy more Ben Rector albums.I am also very impressed with Amazon's MP3 options. When you buy the CD, you get the MP3 download of the entire album at no extra cost. I am not extremely tech-savvy and I didn't think much of the additional feature. When I was at my mom's house I wanted to play the album for her so I pulled it up on my computer, downloaded it and played it. It was great!! It was super easy to download it and gave very accurate instructions. I love that I can access the music from anywhere that I have internet. I also was able to transfer that to my android phone, which I had never been able to figure out how to put music on my phone before. Now I have set one of the songs as my ringtone. Amazon makes it really easy to have the digital copies of the music and I would not hesitate to order all CDs from amazon in the future. I think Amazon should advertise about their MP3 program a little more so people know about it.

I Anticipated this Album
I discovered Ben Rector last August, it just so happened to be around the time I met & started talking to my bride to be this August 31st. While I was falling in love with my fiancee, Ben's music was often playing during date nights, almost felt like a movie score at times ("Autumn from the album "Into The Morning" was one of these songs).I have been anticipating this album "The Walking in Between" since I 1st heard "Forever Like That" on youtube. I was pretty sure the album would be nothing short of very good, I was correct. "Ordinary Love" is a great lead track! "Forever Like That" will always be special to Kelsey & I. "When I'm With You" may be my favorite song on the album. "I Like You" is cute (did I just say cute!? LOL). Without going further into detail which I should, because this is a review, BUT I'm not going to... The rest of the songs on the album are all excellent in their own ways, & honestly, I should not have put an emphasis on any individual songs, because the more I listen to the album while typing this review each song that plays creates a buzz factor, and are worthy conversation pieces! Great album from beginning to end! Ben Rector is a very respected singer songwriter... Still underrated though!! Keep the good music rolling BEN!

Ben never disappoints!
"The Walking in Between" is pure fun from start to finish. Ben Rector's lyrics always run the gamut from thoughtful to whimsical, and this album is no exception to the rule. "Making Money" sings like a hymn while sweetly teaching a simple lesson, "Thank God for the Summertime" just might get me through the upcoming Illinois winter, "Sailboat" is an achingly honest song that begs to be harmonized with, and "Life Keeps Moving On" is just plain true. This album reminds me most of "Songs that Duke Wrote" if you're looking for a comparison to his other projects, but it has a flavor all its own.Just a plug - if you haven't had the pleasure of seeing him live before, get thee to a concert. He's just as good (if not better) live, he's humble, and he's hilarious. And he sometimes sings covers, like "I Wanna Dance With Somebody", which you can view and enjoy on YouTube, if you haven't seen it yet.Clearly I'm a fan. This guy is the real deal, and I love introducing my friends to his music anytime I find out they haven't yet heard him. Enjoy!

Track him down and see him live!
I had this album in my wish list for a while, when a friend of mine (who knows Ben) said, "Don't wait. Just buy it. Right now." That was a couple of months ago. It slid into my 'current favorite' spot pretty quickly because of the songwriting. Then I had the opportunity last weekend to hear him and his band live, and the energy you get from them is unreal. I haven't had that much fun since my last Switchfoot concert at the Bro-Am.Oh, and as a huge bonus, I got treated to Steve Moakler (solo acoustic) as the opener. I don't know if they're touring together, but that was one memorable evening.

Good CD in general, average for Ben Rector
If you like Ben Rector, you'll like this CD. it's not anything groundbreaking, not his best, but it's a good listen.the chorus of 'I Like You' sounds just like the song Ted the lawyer and his girlfriend sing to eachother on scrubs, so it ends up sounding silly. if i hadn't watched scrubs i'd probably like that song better.life keeps moving on sounds like michael bublethe whole CD has a pretty mellow, relaxed tone, less a couple that are upbeat

Come for "Forever Like That," stay for every other track!
I was waiting for this album to come out patiently to get a studio version of "Forever Like That," a song I random discovered on youtube and fell instantly in love with a couple years ago. Back then, I played it for my fiance and he loved it so much, it was our first dance song for our wedding a couple months ago (we had to use a live version because it STILL wasnt out :( ...) Once I was finally able to download the album, and the rest of the tracks live up to FLT's legacy :)

Ben continues to deliver quality music and lyrics.
I'm so glad He hasn't changed his style dramatically over the years. There are so many artists that change far too much and almost change genres, but Rector stays true to his niche and I like that. His lyrics are still simple, but meaningful and the music is just that: MUSIC. Real, dynamic and hamonizable music. (is that a word?)Thanks for another awesome album! My husband and I have trips down memory lane from our dating and newlywed days whenever we listen to your stuff. It's great. :)

Didn't disappoint at all
LOVE this guy! I have all of CD's, and if you liked the first two, you'll love this one. It doesn't disappoint. He just has such a great voice, and such great lyrics. I absolutely love all of his stuff. I think this is one of those musicians that everyone is going to like, regardless of the kind of music you're into. He is such a great somgwriter. If you like songs with actual lyrics that have actual meaning, you'll love this guy.
