Love that these gels don’t have dyes in them. It takes a lot of drops to get color, but that is to be expected. And they worked just fine in my frosting. The kids enjoyed decorating cookies. Just know they are very pastel.

The pink worked great for light pinks, but the blue required a great deal of food coloring to move even slightly past a sea foam green in my buttercream frosting. The blue was a true blue when used in fondant. So it depends on your application. In my purple fondant pieces I mistakenly mixed red and blue, but pink and blue make a much prettier purple and is what I used in the buttercream. All in all it's over priced for poor color saturation, but has its applications. I needed an allergy safe, natural food coloring and made due.

I like the fact that these are made from natural dyes but the colors are very pale . It takes a lot of the product to color the dough and after baking the colors fade even more . I probably wouldn’t buy again .

I am thrilled to find that this natural product works so well with my buttercream frosting. The colors are a nice intensity with just a few drops and does not alter the flavor of the frosting at all. For this project I spread each of the 4 colored frosting on the sides the piping bag and am very happy with the results.

I wish I would have taken pictures of before and after because it did NOT turn out at all! I was planning on making a rainbow layered cake for my daughter's birthday. We colored our cake batter a little darker than the desired shade. When they were all done baking we cut into the cupcakes that were a test run and good thing we did the test run, because all the cupcakes were as if there was no dye ever added, the color faded away completely! Dumb! I cannot use artificial coloring because its just toxic and thought this would be the better alternative... nope! Not meant for baking. Maybe the frosting could turn out, but I haven't tried that yet. Or maybe a craft project like the bath bombs they mentioned in the description, but we don't do those. So if you are planning on using these in cake batter, you might want to think again and try a different product.

As someone who has a severe food dye allergy, I have tried several different natural alternatives. There is a reason this one sells out so quickly from chef mate, baking stores and Amazon. It has no taste and incredible color quality. The size of the bottles is very easy to use. It’s very versatile and can be blended easily

The colors are not as vibrant as artificial dyes, but they're perfect for anyone looking for a natural option. Safe, easy to use, and ideal for baking with kids!
