Phenomenal
This book series is second to none. My 8 year old would wait for the books to arrive, read them in one sitting, then tell me what she learned. Michelle has such a gift for helping children not only love books, but become confident readers, remember what they read, connect the content to their lives and spread a lot of love and hope into the world. The dyslexic font used in these books, absolutely a must. The author really though about how to include all children in reading.

Incredible!
I first discovered Michelle's books through Usborne Books and More and immediately fell in love with them! Cordelia is my absolute favorite as she reminds all of us to always be yourself, no matter what anyone else thinks. As soon as Michelle began offering her new Whatif Monster chapter books, we knew we HAD to have them all! My 6 year old son gets so excited every month when a new one arrives in the mail and he reads them to me as soon as we get inside the house! Thank you, Michelle, for creating such lovely and relatable characters who help parents like me to explain the difficult things to our kids!

A well thought-out equation of dyslexic friendly font, fun illustrations and an easy read length.
Michelle is a very talented author and illustrator. She tackles issues that affect us all with love and grace. Each book that comes out in this series is a new hit for my early reader! The dyslexic friendly font, illustrations and easy read length are a well thought-out equation! The additional guides on her website are a bonus too. We can’t wait for the next book!

Amazing lessons and fun to read!
Each book has a different lesson, and sometimes about subjects that I wouldn’t necessarily know how to explain or introduce. They’re a great way to encourage kids to read- so fun- but also great conversation starters!

A Must Have for Beginning Readers!
Every once and awhile, a writer comes along that knows exactly how to capture the interest and hearts of her readers. One such writer (and illustrator) is Michelle Nelson-Schmitt. My grandson and I LOVE her books. Their unique joy is sprinkled on every page. This newest addition to her body of works fits right in with its didactic story and easy to read wording. You and your young readers will read it again and again. My grandson Jesse gives it 2 thumbs up!

Inclusion & Understanding
Johnathan James and his best friend, the Whatif Monster, play a game that helps him see the positive in every situation. His worries and fears turn to confidence and help him do the things he was scared of. This is a wonderful book that is inclusive of all types of people, including their deaf friend, Sam, who wears hearing aids.

Doesn’t disappoint!! Fabulous!
I received my copy of the first Whatif Monster Chapter Book today. I was so excited I could wait to read it. In true Michelle Nelson Schmidt style, this book captured my heart. Her characters are adorable and bring the issues of anxiety and inclusion to children in such a gentle and special way. It truly won’t disappoint! Perfect for reading aloud and a entry into chapter books for young readers.

There are more kid-friendly books out there
I am a clinical child psychologist and this book was recommended to me by a colleague. While the content is great, it's not very engaging. There are many other anxiety books out there that are more kid-friendly.
