GUESS 1981 Los Angeles

A fantastic warm masculine scent for a great price. I think the quality exceeds the price, hence the five star rating. This isn’t really a year round scent, for fall and winter or cool rainy days and chilly nights. This bottle was produced in the US and is high quality. The EDT itself is potent and long lasting, and the spray mister puts out a good volume. The cap snaps on tight. Well done Guess.

It’s not an aggressive "clubbing" scent; rather, it’s inviting and smooth. This is where the 4-star rating comes in. On my skin, the fragrance lasts about 4 hours before becoming a very subtle skin scent. Its projection is quite intimate; in open or windy environments, it can become almost imperceptible quickly. However, in close-quarter settings like an office, a small meeting room, or a dinner date, this "softness" is actually an advantage as it won't overwhelm the people around you. The 3.4 Fl. Oz. bottle is sturdy and looks great on a dresser. The cap fits securely, and the atomizer provides a fine, even mist. Pros: Very pleasant, non-offensive scent; excellent value for the price; great for office wear or gym use. Cons: Limited longevity (approx. 4 hours); low sillage (doesn't project far); requires re-application for all-day wear. A solid, budget-friendly addition to any collection. It's a "safe" fragrance that smells expensive but performs like a typical Eau de Toilette. I really like this cologne. It has a fresh, slightly sweet and spicy scent with a warm woody touch. It smells masculine and elegant without being too strong. Let's cut to the chase, this is simply a remixed version of Versace Eros. This isn't a bad thing. It feels like every single fragrance has come out with a clone of Eros. This clone however is unique because it removes the Vanilla and replaces it with Tobacco. This is important because it gives it a more "refined" sweetness that doesn't feel immature nor cloying. Very smooth to the nose, in fact. Los Angeles 1981 also goes heavy on plum in the opening and pepper plus notes of ginger. I dare say this is basically a more perfected version of Eros The spray nozzle is very good and allows for quick, full body sprays. Unfortunately, you will need them because the reason this is a budget fragrance is that it's juice potency is low. What I mean is it's close to being an EDC on terms of potency instead of a more potent EDT. Therefore, instead of getting away with two sprays of Eros, you'll likely need 4-6 sprays of Los Angeles 1981. You can expect 6-10 hours with this fragrance as long as your clothes don't get too humid. Projection is about half of arm length, but sillage is surprisingly good. Trust, people will smell you long after tou leave a room (for better or worse.) Because this is an improvement on Eros, I would say only buy it if you're tired/ran out of Eros. If you have another clone of Eros (like Diesel's Sound of the Brave) you can skip this one. If you want to give Eros to a boyfriend or nephew but don't want to spend the money, this is a cheaper and smell-improved solution.

I have purchased this twice for my son as a gift and he loves it and so do I. Will buy again. Great price. Lasts for ages. Not overpowering.

Smells just like Versace Blue Jeans…a classic powdery scent that smells like men’s deodorant from the 1990s. It gets the job done but it lacks boldness or longevity.

Bought this for my husband and he’s been using it daily. It has a warm, slightly sweet, and modern scent (notes of amber and a bit of spice) without being overwhelming. It smells much more expensive than it actually is. Great everyday option or for going out in the evening.
