First photo is my AFTER, clearly! I was going to return this as the seal inside popped and dribbled onto itself and a pair of pleather pants but, as the fates would have it, I ran out of my purple shampoo. Well, BEST “oops” EVER. I’ve got some very stubborn brass that I’ve learned to live with to the point that I’ve even just covered it up with a not permanent Rose God or Lavender just so I didn’t have to look at it. Even that gets tiring. So, I stopped the “Fashion Colors”, let them fade and there I was, back to basic brass. Grr. So, I thought I’ll do that “shampoo toning” with purple shampoo and see if it works. That’s when I discovered I was out of PS! Then I remembered I’d procrastinated going to the post office, ripped open the box, and went and had my shower after reading instructions. I lathered and left it in for longer at the back, about 7-8 min and 3-4 on top. Wowzers! GBG, you have me for LIFE. I’ve never seen this product in Canada so it cost me with shipping (no Prime option sadly) about $32 USD which is pretty expensive for a bottle of that size but...clearly it’s worth every penny! If anyone knows where it is in Canada, please leave me a response! It has UV protection in it which is probably why it’s sooooo silky afterward and before any conditioner goes in, and blondes MUST have UV protector on or that brass will be back if you’re in the sun at all. It doesn’t take much and while my hair is fine, I have a LOT of it. Was a true Ginger in another life. I have a couple of resistant strands that I’ll use this on when my hair is dry to see if it will teach them a lesson, which I’m confident it will. I can’t say enough good about it. The price point would prohibit me from doing my whole head with a purple shampoo “toning” as I’m sure most everyone has seen on YouTube but if you have some crazy resistant brassy bits, this is your product for that issue! Definitely do not need to use it daily! I only wash my hair every 3-4 days so this bottle will last a long time. I hope I can find their conditioner because if it smells as good and does even half the job this does, I’m sold! I did learn a great trick from a stylist friend for those of you with dry platinum blonde hair, when you just plop the shampoo on your wet hair and lather, you may see a purple splatt mark afterward. She said to get a small squirter bottle like the bottle in off the shelf colouring but even smaller, and mix 50/50 purple Shampoo and water and shake it up, then stick the nozzle straight in through wet hair to scalp and squirt appropriate amount aimed in different directions and lather, wait whatever YOUR time amount is, and rinse. Tada! NO purple spot on top of your hair! I guess when you have platinum or level 9 hair that is dry and porous it will hang onto the purple wherever you put it directly on your hair and this way allegedly mitigates that. I’ve been doing it this way since she busted me with a purple spot and it works fabulously plus I find I use less shampoo somehow? Regardless, just thought I’d share that trick in case anyone has ever said “oh I can see purple in your hair...” 🙄. GBG is my new shampoo of choice and I’ve already had several compliments on how “bright” my hair looks and how healthy and shiny it looks. Can’t hear that enough! I’ve not changed anything else in my hair care line except this shampoo (until I find the conditioner that is) and I’ve noticed that I have far less static, noticeably less! I never thought a shampoo would make an impact like that but it’s the only “new” part of my regime. There aren’t any silicones in this shampoo either. That’s my review and I hope it helped you if you were sitting on the fence. Very few negative reviews to the 2,568 positive ones which always makes me wonder what they did differently or were they using this on black hair lol. Speaking of which (sorry I didn’t get a photo) my friend had a balayage on her brunette hair and the blonde was going brassy/green from her hard water. We chelated her ends (go to YT for a cheap way with lemons) and then shampooed using GBG and her hair looked like the day she had it done so it definitely DOES work on highlights that are level 8-9 and have turned brassy! GBG, NOT just for Platinum hair! LOL!

Amazing shampoo - will definitely be re-ordering!

THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!!! I have platinum grey hair that gets yellowish build up very easily from my styling products. I use a flat iron daily, so I use thermal heat protectant spray daily. I have used several different brands of purple shampoo. They either smell terrible or don't work well at all. Some are barely even light lavendar, and from my experience the darker purple the better. This one is VERY dark purple and smells great! It works like a charm. I had been out of purple shampoo for a few weeks, so my hair was starting to look like a faded blonde shade. I had to use the shampoo a few days in a row to remove the build up, but it returned my hair to the beautiful white color that I get so many compliments on. Now I can maintain it with a once every 5 days or so use. This is my new purple shampoo. It makes my hair squeaky clean, but after using a good conditioner it feels box and soft. Not dried out.

Reviewing 8 oz bottle of Purple Shampoo for Blond Hair by GBG (Get Back Gorgeous, by Geno). I have fine silver gray hair with a lot of white to "platinum" hair mixed in. I have not been using a purple shampoo and my hair had taken on a yellow/ gold sheen. I purchased this based on many favorable reviews. It cleaned my hair very well, and did not stain my face, neck, ears or hands. Within 3 shampoo's my hair is looking a lot better. The yellow/ gold tones have significantly diminished or disappeared. I would not use this shampoo on a daily basis as I found it to be very drying for my fine long hair. Friends in the hair trade have advised me to alternate with other non-purple shampoo to avoid depositing too much purple pigment in my hair and getting "purple sheen". Meanwhile, I am in the process of trying out various brass toning conditioners to try to counter the drying effect of this shampoo since I intend to keep using it. I just wish there was a matching conditioner specifically made to go with and compliment this product. If anyone has found something to counter the drying effect of purple shampoos (this seems to be a common problem), I'd like to know what it is? Overall, I am happy with the shampoo, the toning effect, ease of use, availability and price point....just not the dried out hair texture.

This product works from the very first to use on even the brassiest color. I have very long hair but it took a very small amount to lather and coat all of my locks. I left it on for five minutes and I’m going to step it up to more minutes today. Even for the shortest amount of time that is recommended, I saw a instant results.
