Toilet Seat Hinges Replacement Chrome Finished Toilet Seat Hinge for Wooden Resin for Toilet Seats with Fittings and Repair Parts

One of the hinges on my toilet seat broke and so I thought it would be cheaper to buy a replacement set of hinges rather than a new toilet seat. While this has proven to be the case it is more by luck than design! While we are given loads of measurements for these hinges (for which many thanks by the way), I had not noticed that the length of the arms are in fact slightly shorter than that of my existing hinges and that the length of the screws provided were ever so slightly longer than my existing screws. Now this would not be a problem if I had a wooden toilet seat but mine in not wooden and if I had tried to drill holes and use the new screws I would probably have split my 'thin' toilet seat cover. Fortunately, I was able to use many of the parts provided in this set to replace the broken bit of my existing hinge and provide a virtually 'good as new' look to the unit. So the lesson I have learnt from this experience is that getting all the measurements absolutely correct is essential if you are looking to avoid the simpler but more expensive option of buying a replacement toilet seat. As for the hinges themselves, I have no problems with their quality at all. They look good and while some of the parts are plastic rather than metal, they have not caused any problems to date.

As others have mentioned you do need to make sure the measurements are exact or you might have to drill holes in your loo seat to make these fit. The holes lined up on the lid but not the seat part and I did not fancy trying to drill into the resin seat. So I just took the hinge apart and replaced the bit that I needed on my old hinge - altho the new screws were slightly too long thankfully the original ones fitted perfectly. Now at least my loo seat is fixed and staying put rather than moving and coming apart. At least with this new hinge the long spindle actually does screw into the middle bit unlike my old hinge that must have been cross threaded at some point which is why it would only just twist twice into an already shallow fitting then working itself loose and falling off numerous times. This new part of the hinge thankfully screws in quite securely at least 5x so much sturdier. Time will tell if it stays in place. So far so good and feels much sturdier!!

Great replacement hinges for toilet seat

Got these to see if we could replace the hinges on the loo seats. However, we have since decided it would be a lot less hassle to just replace the whole seat. The package came with zero instructions. And an extra bar that was not shown anywhere on the description. So we set about taking the loo seat off, removing the hinges, and putting these new ones on. First problem: the bar was too long. So we had to cut that down. Second problem, we had to redrill some of the holes for the hinges because even though the bar had been cut down, it was still too long. Third problem: we had to keep refering to the old hinges to make sure we got the new ones the right way around as each of the three pieces was separate and there were no instructions. We finally get the hinges on and thing yay, we did it. Now we can pop it back of the loo and do our business without sliding around like we're in a toboggan race. No. That would have been too easy. We had to use the long threaded bars off the old hinges as the new ones were too big to fit in. Then it took a solid half hour to fit the seat back on as every time it got knocked the threaded bar unscrewed itself from the hinge. Eventually we got it all done and back together. However, unless you are paying for solid gold loo seats, it is not worse getting these replacement hinges unless you really like torturing yourself with difficult tasks. Even then, I'd rather just get a new loo seat that comes with better hinges already attached.

Just put these sound, quality hinges on a wooden toilet seat, would have cost around £25 - 30 for a decent quality seat like the one l have at present, great job!!! what a money saver, thanks again guys.

Good value for money, straight forward to fit, works just fine

Recently bought a new toilet seat for a bargain price. While the seat is a quality item the hinges weren’t. They lasted about a month before the seat worked itself loose. I refitted the hinges 3 times & each time they were secure for less time than before . I saw these Upain hinges on Amazon & bought them. They are a much better quality than the hinges they replaced. Took about 20 mins to fit them. That was just over a week ago & up to now they haven’t budged. Very pleased with these replacement hinges. They are far, far better than the original hinges , they are a better quality & feel solid . Very pleased with these hinges. Would recommend them.
