Best case I have owned by far ( besides a hardshell fitted case for my Fender Jazz). Although I was first weary of the bags dimensions, when it arrived I was presently surprised that it was slightly larger than I thought, which is great because I use it for my ESP LTD B-206, which is a huge six string 13 pound bass. Very happy with construction, not your idea of a flimsy gig bag as it is very sturdy and offers plenty of internal padding and external protection. The bass fits perfectly into the case minus the narrow neck contour on the rest as it looks like it is geared more towards four and smaller five string basses. However this has not affected the performance of the bag and surprisingly does not take my bass out of tune as much as I originally thought it would as it isn't a hard shell case. Plenty of Storage is a huge bonus and if that isn't enough, the thing comes with a darn rain coat in the back head stock pocket. Overall if you want a rock solid gig bag, this is the one for you.

Huge pockets!! Great for school/college
This case is great! I was specifically looking for a nice case that's comfortable to carry around with HUGE pockets because I like to bring my bass with me to University while I study. The big pocket can hold my 15" laptop (including charger), 1 medium sized binder (filled), 2 textbooks, and a decent sized pencil pouch; in the slimmer middle pocket I can fit things like a USB dock for my laptop, a Ti-84 Graphing Calculator, charging cables etc. While I still have the other pocket up top to bring regular maintenance tools for the bass too! The very front slim pocket holds a new set of strings as well. The shoulder straps are pretty comfortable, especially when compared to the case that I bought the gator to replace. The build quality inside and out seem fantastic so far as well.

Love this case!
Yes, it's pricey but worth it to protect your instrument. Don't go cheap when it comes to protecting your instrument. I thought my Carvin bass soft case would accommodate my new G&L-1000 but the G&L headstock was too big; I wasn't comfortable with the tight squeeze, knowing a good bump could break a tuner. This Gator is the perfect size for the G&L large headstock and it's not only sturdy but full of features. Much nicer that the Carvin case which is very good. Definitely recommend.

Make sure you have a look at this one.
I returned the Transit in favor of this one. MUCH better. Fits my MIM Fender Jazz really well, and my MIM Fender Jazz 5-string also fits with no problems. Very sturdy, quality seems to be there. Zippers seem like solid quality. I love the front pocket with all the little compartments and whatnot. Very clever and a really nice touch. Only three complaints really. I wish the backpack straps stowed away the same way they do on the Transit. These come off, and you can put them somewhere, but it was nice on the Transit that they just tucked in. Also, color options. I'm fine with the black, but the Transit colors were really nice. Last...The placement of the carry handle on the front. Totally dig it there, but having one on the back side (again, like the Transit) or toward the top on the back like the Fender cases have. The handle on this bag is great, super strong, really nice, for me though it's in the wrong place. If you're looking for a solid gig bag and you have lots of Fender stuff like I do, make sure you have a look at this bag. So much of these things are personal preference, but make sure you look at this one. Good stuff, reasonable price.

Excellent gid bag for bass
I cannot say much about durability yet, but this is the only decent gig back I found where the pocket is big enough for a Rumble 800 head. The design is far superior to the Mono M80. The only advantage the Mono might have is protection at the bottom. It is nice but does not outweigh the advantages of the Gator.

A pretty good case. Maybe priced a little high. Did not fit my 5-string Ibanez BTB well enough.
I had a $29 Fender gig bag for my 5-string, Ibanez BTB for seven years and one of the shoulder straps finally broke so it was time to look around for something new. I wanted something that would last many years and I didn't really mind paying a fair price for what I wanted. At the same time, I don't need a hard shell (no airline flights for me) and wanted a lightweight yet sturdy gig bag. I saw the youtube video of the Uncle Kracker band throwing the Gator G-PG Pro Go case around, dropping it, etc. so thought I'd give it a try. It arrived quickly and, honestly, is a fairly nice case. Fairly well constructed, sturdy, though not quite as sturdy as I expected for the money. My bass is very heavy and it would not survive repeatedly being thrown off the back of a truck, etc.as depicted in the video. Still, it would have sufficed for my use. (I didn't plan to throw it off trucks or even fly with it.) What caused me to RETURN this item was the way the bass fit in the case. I put the bass in the case and it fit fine. But when zipping it up, it was a very tight fit in the area right under the handle. I ran the zipper back and forth a few times and knew this would not work for me. When zipping it up, I had to push the padding in with my left hand while pulling hard and forcing the zipper closed with my right. It was just too snug. I knew it wouldn't be long before either the padding would get caught in the zipper or the zipper itself would give out due to the strain. The zipper is one of those that's ok if it is allowed to freely travel with no resistance, but not the most heavy duty and wouldn't last through repeatedly being forced closed and opened. So if you have a lightweight bass with a smaller design, this case would probably work. All of that being said, I think the $149 price tag is still a bit high for this case. It might be more fairly priced around $119 or so. I have since ordered a Electric Bass Contego PRO PAC Case by Protec priced at $125 and am waiting for it to arrive. The dimensions show it to be two inches wider than the Pro Go so I'm hoping the bass fits alright in it. Just my opinion. Good luck.
