Gingko biloba is made from the leaves of an ancient tree which is native to China. Therefore, the ingredients would have to be Chinese. It has been used for various health purposes for thousands of years in that region.

My question is, will this thin the blood too much?

I've been taking them for a couple of years now and haven't had any problems. I donate blood every 8 weeks with the Red Cross and their tests seem to find my blood just fine. Hope this helps.

Can I open the capsule and add it to a smoothie?

I assume you can add it to a smoothie...but the taste may be affected...I just swallow the capsules.
