Libretto Trumpet Mute Silencer, AC011-7, Practice Mute, All Aluminum, Excellent for Practice Purpose

Decent mute. Currently being used for high school band and works perfectly. Will use more for Jazz band. Good purchase for a non-professional musician.

Took this on vacation so I could get some practice in. It cuts the volume to where I doubt anyone in the building can hear, and it plays well. Pitch is not affected and it does take a little more airflow, but it makes practice possible. It stays in the bell, and takes up very little room in your case. Like a silencer for a gun, with this you could kill a passage and no neighbors will hear it!

If you want to practice, without scaring pets or disturbing neighbors this is for you. I play a few stringed instruments. I wanted to be able to practice a trumpet. I first tried a standard 'trumped mute', bad choice. A cork in the tube messes with the needed air flow badly. This device seems to have the ability to allow for normal air flow, and still greatly reduce the volume. I am a sub novice with the trumpet but I do heartily recommend this.

Silences enough to practice in dorm or apt

I joined a community band recently and saw one of the other trumpet players using this during warm up. I asked her about it and decided to invest. This mute is phenomenal! I live with my husband and our 5 cats who REALLY appreciate my sound being cut by this mute. It stays in the bell, fits in my case, and is great for warming up at gigs. I would highly recommend this mute to other players. Great buy!

Nice and compact little trumpet practice mute. Fits in my Max case with limited space.

For the price it’s okay, the sound quality isn’t amazing and the mute itself doesn’t stay in well at all. It leaves behind little cork pieces inside your bell

Muy bonito sonido pero no le queda a todas las campanas

I needed a small (short) practice mute for my new (China) pocket trumpet. I tried a BestBrass Piccolo practice mute that I paid 4x as much to purchase from US (exchange & duties very expensive!!!) In the end, the Best Brass mute did not fit (too small) and the tone was not right. I bought this Libretto mute at 1/4 the cost, at it is awesome. It fits within the bell and the case (snugly) which I needed to go on travel vacation. It protrudes less than 1". The build/design looks similar to the Best Brass mute, and the Libretto mute sounds great thru all octaves on the pocket trumpet. Best investment I made this week.

I got my item very quickly. The only thing with it is that it often falls out of my trumpet. It's gotten bruised a couple times. The sound is great when it is used.
