XPLORA 4 - Watch Phone for children (SIM Free) 4G - Calls, Messages, Kids School Mode, SOS function, GPS Location, Camera and Pedometer - Includes 2 Year Warranty (BLUE)

I wanted to wait a bit for writing a review so we could properly put this device through its paces. Over the last few weeks it's been used regularly including a European skiing trip. After extensive research, I originally bought another cheaper device but found it to be buggy, unreliable whilst also trying to surreptitiously suck you into a monthly payment scheme. I'm happy to say this XPLORA 4 device exceeded my expectations. The device looks good & ticks all the boxes for a concerned parent. It tracks very well as can be expected of a mobile device using a SIM card and works reliably on WiFi. It's intuitive for the kids and robust enough to suffer a moderate level of abuse whilst still looking fairly 'cool'. The App is simple to use and can be installed on multiple devices without any additional cost. As others have noted, audio quality really is surprisingly good whilst the camera is so-so but about as much as you should expect on a device at this price-point (it's certainly no iPhone). Personally, I am satisfied with the SMS feature being 'receive' only as our child isn’t' ready to be texting anyone and everyone. This is separate from the in-built XPLORA messaging feature which allows two-way text/photo messaging from Guardian-Child only. This which works quickly and effectively. Importantly product development is current with help being responsive and helpful. I've had several correspondences with a support team in Norway. Recently they've just released a new 'Kid-friendly' online store to encourage healthy behaviour (step-counting) to earn points and prizes. I haven't investigated it much yet but it's nice to see the ongoing development of the product. The only slight negative (and it is very slight) is battery life is about a day - which if we're being honest, is about the same expectancy for a mobile phone or adult smart watch (ie. apple watch). That said, interestingly the watch fared well in mountain temperatures which is a testament to the build quality in the battery capacity not being compromised in sub-zero temperatures. Bottom line for us the XPLORA 4 really does deliver on what it says it will.

This has the potential to be a very good watch. I say potential, as the hardware is excellent, but the software could do with being more stable and with more much needed features. They could be added as a software update. I hope so. What’s good? - Excellent quality phone calls. - Super easy to use for my son (age 10) - Tracking works well for adults using the app - School mode is excellent, as is the geo fence feature. What could be improved. - It’s a bit buggy. Crashes occasionally and is unresponsive. Sometimes mid call meaning you can’t hang up call. Only way to end is taking the SIM card out. (Happened 3 times in 1st week). Hopefully this will be fixed with firmware update. - Contacts (people you can call) are limited to max of 20. Not and issue now for me, but it soon could be as more of my sons friends get phones. - Guardians (adults who can track the watch) are limited to max of 2. This is a problem for me. I’d like this to be at least 4 guardians so grandparents can use this feature. - No ability to send SMS from watch to a regular mobile phone (eg non-smart phone). This is a pain. - Harding cable is Pogo style, which is not widely available. I’d have preferred a standard USB cable so I could re-use other leads when needed. Not major issue, just annoying. Overall, I am very pleased. I would buy again. It fits a certain age group who are not old enough for a proper phone, but whom you want to track and have them able to contact you in an emergency.

We've tried several kids' GPS watches and this one is the only one worth buying. It is expensive, but it does it job, great build quality, very nice software, and the most important thing - GPS tracking is very precise!

Great product, my son loves it and it’s so easy to use and set up. I feel so much safer when he’s playing football over the park and out with his friends if he needs me I’m a button press away .

Be careful when ordering this. I bought it here because it was £10 cheaper than from the Xplora website. Unfortunately, I had to return it as they sent me a used one. First, when trying to set it up the QR code kept scanning as invalid. Second, when pressing the sos button it tried to call a contact called 'Papa'. Lastly, it went into school mode after a while. I contacted Xplora helpline and all these issues pointed to the watch still containing the setup of a previous user. Needless to say, I returned it and bought a brand new one directly from Xplora. The watch itself is excellent. My little boy loves it and all his friends are now asking their parents for one. Now that he is eight years old he has started playing outside on his own with kids in the neighbourhood. It gives us peace of mind knowing where he is at all times and now we don't have to go searching around to call him in at mealtimes. My only issue is that the watch cannot send text messages/chat with ALL contacts in the watch. This is only possible with whomever is listed as a 'guardian'. I feel this is an unnecessary limitation, especially when Xplora's excuse was the tiny size of the screen. If he can use it to text the nominated guardians, he should be able to text ANY contact. The low rating is for the seller. The watch gets 4 stars out of 5.

Feels like a higher quality product but it is expensive. Really easy to setup and use. Accompanying app is intuitive and effective and provides decent parental controls. I've tried some of the lower-end products previously and Xplora 4 is distinctively a better product.

I bought this for my 7 year old son as a birthday present and he absolutely loves it. I was looking at other options but this seemed to get the best reviews and it didn’t disappoint. As a parent I have full control over contacts and I can disable it when he’s at school. The only thing that it is missing would be a game or 2 that could be played on the watch like other smart watches. That aside it was a great purchase!

There are lots of things I like about this watch the phone calls are great, the school mode is great – but basically I cannot give it good stars because of the poor accuracy. I’d frankly rather not know where my son was at all rather than think he was in Plumco at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, or in the Hospital (which is where it told me me he was today!) If the phone was £40 or £50, I might let this slide, but at its current price I expect better. It also annoys me that I cannot tailor the auto texts. This would surely be simple to adapt- so that parents could control the replies according to what they needed I.e- “meet me on the corner of Duke street” or “I have just left school”.

El reloj me encantó, estoy comunicada con mi hija, se su ubicación, y me quite de encima el Temor de que tuviera acceso a internet por el uso de un móvil a temprana edad. Yo compre el XPLORA 4, y me parece muy práctico, efectivo, resistente. Y yo le coloqué una telefonía buena con lo cual tiene muy buena cobertura. Estoy muy complacida con la compra, y lo mejor es que el servicio de atención al cliente es extraordinario, Funciona solo por mail pero es muy eficaz, respuestas casi inmediatas y soluciones rápidas. Lo recomiendo 100%

i had a lot of issues getting this watch to work. The app is very slow, the watch doesnt update the contacts regularly, and its performance is flaky at best. When I reached out to Xplora support they simply said it only works in a few European and hasn't been tested to work outside them so my best bet is to return it! Don't buy if you live outside the listed countries on their site!

Wir haben für unsere beiden Kinder je eine Uhr gekauft. Pro: Die Uhren können alles was sie sollen. Die Ortung klappt prima und die Kinder kommen gut damit zurecht. Pluspunkt gibt es für das magnetische Ladekabel. Auch die Einrichtung war unproblematisch. Kontra: Bei einer von beiden ist leider das Armband schon nach wenigen Tagen kaputt gegangen. Der Preis ist relativ hoch. Die Optik könnte etwas weniger kindlich sein (wie zB die Anio).

Después de mucho tiempo pensando en comprar un teléfono con GPS para mi ahijado por fin me decidí por este modelo en forma de reloj y sumergible para que no se lo tenga que quitar para nada. Tiene muchas funciones como llamadas, localización, cámara de fotos, modo colegio. Pero, sin duda, lo que más nos ha convencido es la precisión de la localización así como el podómetro que, si lo conectas a la plataforma de la marca en su web, cambia los pasos por monedas con las que podemos comprar premios para ellos.
