This is awesome. It's sharp and looks like it was made ...
This is awesome. It's sharp and looks like it was made really well. It's for a present for my brother. It's super sharp so it punctured through the little plastic protection part at the tip and the sheaths seems like it isn't going to last very long, but other then that, it's great.

Very Effective Tool
insanely balanced, perfectly wrapped nylon cording around the handle, whistles with each powerstrike into fluid motions. If you love swords, this is one you should own. I am considering purchasing more quality products from this company for sure, I think a full throwing knife set is next on the list as the ones with the sword are definitely of quality 440 stainless steel construction and worth every penny! :)

Very nice sword and knives, but not the sheath!
This sword came in a flimsy box that was almost crushed by other items I ordered with it, but thankfully there was no severe damage to the sword. The sword was very sharp all the way around with no damage to the point or the edges, but length-wise the sword was slightly bent. With a little gentle work, I was able to straighten it out enough. The sharpened portion of the blade to the neck measures 17 1/4 inches long. The neck from the blade to the handle measures 2 inches long. The handle from the neck to the circle end measures 6 inches long. The circle end is 1 3/4 inches long for a total length of 27 inches. The inside diameter of the circle end is 1 3/8 inches. The thickness of the overall sword is 1/8 of an inch. The sword was already in the sheath when I opened the box, and I immediately saw the point of the blade protruding out of the sheath as shown in the attached picture. This happens because there is no way to stop the sword from sliding down inside the sheath such as a needed hand guard at the neck. The sheath is a very thin and overly flexible nylon material, way too flimsy. I also extended the strap as far out as it would go, but it still wasn't enough to wrap around any part of my body (I'm a medium-sized guy), so it is basically worthless as I'll have to get a custom sheath somewhere. The two throwing knives also came in perfect condition. The blades measure 3 inches, the necks measure 1 1/4 inches, and the circle ends measure 3/4 inches for an overall length of 5 inches. Their thickness is also 1/8 of an inch. For the price, this is still a good buy. The sword seems to be of very good quality overall with the exception of a needed small hand guard as well as good quality of the throwing knives. Get the sword and knives, but start looking for a better sheath. UPDATE: Pictures attached show how I made a simple hand-guard out of 3/4" hard wood so the sword does not slide down the sheath all the way. This was just an experiment to see if it could be done, but one could really use a piece of nice looking wood to make it work.

Decent, but finishing touches are poor.
The blade is a lot lighter than I was expecting, probably owing to the fact that there are slots/holes in the middle of the blade running about half the length from base toward tip, as well as the lack of a pommel of any kind. It appears to be typical display-only quality steel, and supposedly is 440 High-Carbon Stainless Steel, which is good quality cutlery steel but not good for a functional sword blade, but I'm not in a position to confirm the composition. The blade is clearly stamped, not forged (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stamping_%28metalworking%29), but this is hardly surprising given the very low price. A forged blade would be much more expensive, as would a blade of a more functional steel quality. I like the short length, but others might find it too short. Total length from pommel (if you can call it that) to blade tip is 27 inches. That about the length of a short sword as opposed to a long sword, and certainly shorter than a jian. The balance is wrong though, with too much weight at the blade and not enough at the pommel. If it had a real pommel instead of just a ring, then this would be improved, but as it is, it is too blade-heavy. Also, the blade is clearly not well ground, as there is a definite lack of evenness and symmetry comparing one edge to another. I suspect that this is due to grinding being done by hand or by a poorly calibrated/programmed machine. The same problem is also noticeable on the throwing knives. And the major shaping grind was done in a way that leaves tiny ridges and furrows running perpendicular to the blade length. In my opinion, this rough finish should have been ground smooth and polished. Furthermore, the sharpening of the blade is similarly inconsistent, both in angle of the sharpening grind and in how sharp it actually is. Lastly, the throwing knives are basically useless, in my opinion. While they are well balanced for throwing, they are way too small and light-weight to be at all effective as a throwing weapon. Also, throwing blades should be made of a softer, less-brittle steel than 440 stainless, otherwise the tips will break off. Then again, the sword itself is also really a display-only blade, as 440 stainless is a poor steel choice for a functional blade of any kind. For a functional piece you would want spring steel blades. Unfortunately, the sheath is not worthy, in my opinion, of being displayed at all. It is a basic nylon sheath with a nylon strap, and nothing more. So in summary, this is a display set only, not a functional set of blades. For me, that was expected so it in no way reduces my opinion of the set. From a distance of more than a couple of feet they look pretty good, but close up there are definite flaws in the finishing touches, and that annoys me. Also, because of the rough grind that maintains ridges and furrows instead of a smooth polished surface, it will be a bit of a pain to keep clean, especially in a dusty home. Lastly, the sheath is not worthy of being used in a display at all.

Why so many complaints?
Beautiful sword and very sharp throwing knives. I am confused of the reviews that are put off by the length as the length not only make's it faster but also less of burden. I am also put off by those saying "it breaks too easy, it bends, etc. First of all swords aren't meant for blunt force contact. They are meant for slashing or stabbing. Clearly a blade of this type is not meant for blunt force contact. The blade does not come as sharp as the throwing knives, but that's easy fix. Also to the ones who complain about the ribbon coming off the grip, it doesn't take but maybe 5 minutes to learn how to wrap a sword grip. Most of these complaints I keep seeing are either minor or the buyer didn't know what they were buying and just saw what they thought was going to be some cool barbarian samurai sword. Learn your history and understand what certain blades are made for before you start to complain!

Excellent product
Fantastic! Got it a day early, and everything is fine. The sword is a little dull, but nothing an hour with a whetstone won't fix. The kunai are razor sharp, with perfect balance and killer accuracy. All in all, perfectly satisfied. Thanks amazon!

Great backpack machete
I'm impressed! Despite its weight it has impressive strength, I took it outside and hacked away at a log on a chopping block as a stress test and it held up. The blade is very flexible and removes most of the vibrations of a heavy impact before they reach the handle.

Smooth and balanced
The short sword is just beyond what I imagined, very nice, extremely sharp. If you enjoy collecting knives and swords then this is a great buy to grab while you can. And you also get the sheath and two throwing knives.
