Second bottle I purchased and I am pleased.
Lemon grass, lime and chilies in a paste. Delicious.

Flavorful but costly
This is great for an authentic, special to a meal. A little goes a long way but it still is a bit pricey. I’d definitely get it again for a special occasion.

Clean Ingredients but Milder Flavor — Still a Good Tom Yum Paste
This Tom Yum paste has a very clean, natural ingredient list, so you don’t need to worry about any questionable additives — that’s a big plus. I usually cook Tom Yum using a regular paste with a not-so-great ingredient list, and the flavor is much stronger in that one. With this organic paste, the taste is milder and not as intense. It’s also quite spicy. But that’s not necessarily a downside — it really depends on what you’re looking for. If you want that deep, classic restaurant-style Tom Yum flavor, you might prefer the regular paste. But if you care about quality, natural ingredients, and still want a tasty soup, this one is a very good option. I’m still deciding which one I prefer — honestly, I might just mix the two to get the best of both worlds.

Best of the best
The best paste for tom yum I have ever used. Here’s how I cook it: I sauté garlic and a bit of onion in oil, then add button mushrooms with a touch of butter and cook until lightly golden. I stir in some grated ginger and a few soaked shiitake mushrooms. Separately, I fry shrimp shells and heads in butter with a little salt, then deglaze with half a glass of white wine, add hot water, and simmer for a few minutes to make a rich broth. In a pot, I combine this broth with 3–4 tablespoons of the Mae Ploy Tom Yum paste, diced tomatoes, fish sauce, soy sauce, seafood mix, and shrimp. I finish with coconut milk, lime juice, and a bit of sugar for balance. The result is incredibly flavorful and restaurant-level good — 11/10!

not what I expected
ive had different brands of tom yum so I know how it does actually taste like. this is very bland and I had to use the whole small jar for one serving - which I'm sad about because I thought since it came in a small bottle, the flavor will be more intense. nope not at all!! I won't buy this again

This product is ok
This paste is ok, but I have others I prefer more, not terrible if its all you had to choose from, but not as pleasant in flavors.

Delicious and easy
Does Tom Yum paste is so good! I had on hand lime leaf and galangal root and I really didn’t even need it. I would recommend this as an easy way to make Tom Yum or Tom good Kha soup!

Bland and overpriced
It’s not very flavorful. I use Tom Yum paste frequently to make a cup of broth for an afternoon snack. My usual brand from the Asian grocery store takes about a teaspoon for a nice cup of broth. I had to use 2 full tablespoons of this in 8 oz of water to get the same flavor. At more than quadruple the price, it’s not worth it. Also, the lack of shrimp flavoring makes this really bland. My fault for not noticing it was vegan. It honestly tastes more like curry than Tom Yum.

Great in stir-fries and soups!
Love it! Works great in stir-fries and soups. None of that icky aftertaste you get from dubious additives. Spice level is very friendly.

Delicate Flavours
Great little bottle to keep in your pantry. Makes a last-minute tomyum seafood in a jiffy. Nice curry-ish flavour, not very sour. Good balance.
