This stuff is awesome. I didn't realize until I tried another brand how good I had it (you can find my review of the other brand through my profile). Yes, it is pricey, but you're getting a specialty product that you can't find in other places. If you want cheap gelatin, buy Knox. Ew, right? I have moderate degenerative arthritis in my hand and take gelatin to help manage it (along with a topical ointment) instead of prescription anti-inflammatory pills with nasty side effects. This stuff keeps the pain to a minimum despite working on the computer all day and doing all sorts of regular daily tasks. It *immediately* dissolves in hot or cold liquid. This is a big plus if you've tried other brands that are lumpy, gluey, and nasty. It gives my coffee a slightly foamy, latte-like froth that I enjoy. I mix in coconut oil and milk, and boom - morning bliss. It is essentially tasteless in coffee or tea. If you put it in water or a very light-tasting beverage, yes, you will taste the gelatin. Mix it with juice or something else, and you might not know it is there. It's great for hair, nails, and skin - all of those claims are true. It just works. The only *small* negative I have is that you lose some product with the container top - it's rough to get it all out near the end. I might have my husband McGyver a way to get it open and put it in a glass container. If that happens I'll post an update. I did, in fact, figure out a way to get every little bit out. Yay! If you are a child of the 80s like me, you might remember Peach Hi-C in a huge can. Mom would open that thing on 2 sides with a church key (for you youngsters and non-Southerners, that's a bottle opener with a curved end :)). I digress. I used a church key to open the top - it pretty much peeled away after I got it open (wearing gloves couldn't hurt! I used a towel). Then I poured every speck into a resealable glass container. Problem solved - hope this helps someone :) **Updated - 11/13/2015** Hallelujah! Great Lakes heard the complaints about the container and fixed it! I bought the 2-pack and made the happy discovery...you just take off the top plastic lid and there is a pull tab. Once you discard the pull tab cover, you can either keep in the container with the plastic lid or put it in another container of your choice (I use a glass container with a gasket in the lid to keep it fresh). This is now a 6-star product!

I do see my nails getting stronger after using this powder. I use 2 scoops in my tea each day. It dissolves easily and there's no taste to it. Good value for the money.

I purchased the Great Lakes Wellness Collagen Peptides Powder because I wanted to add collagen to my supplement routine while also increasing my protein intake. When I tell you your collegen has been life altering, I mean no exaggeration. This product has really and truly altered my daily life! I am a 55 yo, menopausal Certified Nurse Assistant, Certified Dementia Practitioner. Therefore my body no longer produces the collegen it once did, and I have a very physically taxing job lifting patients, bending, squatting, etc. At the end of a shift my muscles and joints would literally ache so badly I was taking 4 ibuprofen twice per shift to keep the pain at bay. Skin: My chin acne has completely cleared up in just a few weeks. Also the slight flushing there is much reduced to a pink rather than a red. I used to get a new chin pimple every day, that would flake off and dry pretty fast. I did not buy collagen with any specific purpose in mind, just a general thought that it could "help in some ways". My jawline acne is going away too, I can tell. They are getting smaller and healing. I am sure once these are gone, they won't come back. I started using sunscreen on my arms this year, and while that obviously has something to do with it, I am noticing years of deep tan on my arms fading. Also seeing the skin on my butt looking more even toned with dark patches going away...and that area certainly hasn't seen the sun...I dunno about stretch marks which aren't that noticeable for me anyway, but skin is definitely evening up on areas that were uneven even without sun exposure. I am confident in a year's time I can have perfect skin - I don't mind waiting as this is sure way easier than dealing with creams. I still have some acne on my cheeks, but I am hopeful that with this and/or this and biosil I started a week ago those will also go away. I will give it a few weeks. It will be convenient and nice to have perfect skin and use only sunscreen topically. Seeing how sensitive my acne-prone skin is to topicals (luckily I found a working body and face wash and sunscreens) I believe that is best. Hair: I believe my scalp hair is thicker. I have always had lots of volume in my wavy hair and enough hair to cover my scalp, but the thickness of individual strands has varied from fine to medium to thick, with not many fine at all and mostly medium thickness with a more casual diet. Not only has even my volume increased (less shedding?), so has the thickness of individual stands of my hair to the point I am seeing many strands seemingly become thicker. My mother also pointed out my hair looks thicker with more volume, since the 6 months I last saw her in person. I feel my hair shines more now too. I do take other supplements, like blackstrap molasses powder which I am sure is also good - but I started blackstrap molasses significantly more recently (two or three weeks after starting collagen) so hard to tell what is what. I have no PMS symptoms now! I AM taking other supplements, but since my chin acne cleared up I think this supplement may have contributed. I also take blackstrap molasses powder and noticed this improvement within a week of starting blackstrap molasses powder when my period started and I hadn't had moods that whole week (though collagen may have been the main reason as it built up in my system). Back pain: I used to have lower back pain sitting on the sofa all day in the same position. Now that has completely gone. I can also use the treadmill for long periods of time without feet pain anymore. Only drawback: I am not terribly good at digesting protein and do bloat if I eat too much collagen with other protein things like eggs or meat at the same meal (breakfast for me). But I am working on it, by breaking up heavy protein consumption across the meals and having fiber and probiotics as supplements. My bloating has definitely improved from my pre-collagen days, when I didn't even have all that much meat either. Caveat: I started the other supplements I mentioned (fiber, probiotics, blackstrap molasses and biosil) after using collagen for some weeks and already enjoying some benefits mentioned.

I have used this GL Collagen Hydrolysate supplement for a couple of years. I stopped briefly but went back to it. At first I had a marked increase in hair growth including my eyelashes. My skin which was suffering from too rapid weight loss and tanning (and a lack of good sense there) greatly improved as well. I stopped the supplement for several months and then decided to go back to it when perimenopause came outta nowhere and attacked. But this time I didn't get the same boost in hair re-growth. Possibly because now I'm fighting the hormonal issues as well. I do however find that it still makes a very good and lovely difference in my skin's texture. My skin just feels and looks softer and more hydrated when taking this supplement. I also notice a plumping of my wrinkled areas on my face so that's absolutely awesome. I'm 50 and told I look 40. Imagine I could look 30 but for the aforementioned lapse in good judgment with the crazy weight loss and tanning. ...Even so, this is a supplement that I want to continue on with but with the caveat that I find if I don't take a day or two break from this every week or two and let too much build up in my system.. every now and then I will break out in hives...not a major case.. but still enough to be annoying and who wants to sit around rubbing and scratching the irritated areas. I never take more than 2 Tbsp ONCE a day ..never the 2 Tbsp TWICE a day reccomended dosage.. I'd be afraid to try that much.. though it may be the jumpstart my hair re-growth needs. I just started a regimen of Hair Anew by Naturenetics with this collagen.. so hoping for good things there. One final note on the GL Collagen Hydrolysate container. Seriously. This is the best y'all could do for a canister? :| I almost have no words there as it's amazing such a good product could be purposely put into such a bad container. The pour spout is such a poor spout. It simply is aggravating at best. My tablespoons won't fit into the small weird shaped opening. And even if they would my tablespoons do not have 10 inch handles so I would never be able to reach the bottom of the container once the product got low enough. Plus we like to SEE how much product we have left for such purposes as reordering. And when the product does get low enough you are forced to pour from that spout but then product gets all hung up in the part of the top that you can't get to so you just have to shake the can and try to get it all out without spilling it everywhere. So here's my tip and workaround which works wonderfully.. I use my can opener to open my canister just like any other can of food. Once the offending spout lid is removed from my GL canister, I have this wide open mouth can that is so easy to deal with and I simply use an OATMEAL CONTAINER lid to secure the GL canister. The large oatmeal containers do not work..too big. But the mid-size oatmeal lids are simply perfect. They are even clear lids which looks really nice without having to have another product's logo on my collagen container. It's a perfect workaround to a small issue with the GL product. I do love this supplement. Quality product. ....The people in the lid department notwithstanding.

Dont let low ratings fool you, i was worried too when i read those low rating reviews. But i still tried it because the collagen brand i was already using, still had some of the problems that were mentioned in the low rating reviews; a little smell, little grassy taste, and late dissolving so i thought what could go wrong but lucky me, this collagen literally solves all of the problem, i am literally amazed by how fast it dissolves, i m a late sleeper and late riser so i am always late for office, and when i am up, i want everything fast, this powder literally dissolves in seconds even in cool drinks/milk, no smell and taste at all. My problem for the collagen is literally solved. Don't know how beneficial it is because its only been 2 days i’ve purchased this and i couldn't wait to post a review.

Bought multiple times and will purchase again definitely. Bought it for my mum, it was recommended for her knees. It has improved her mobility and she has less pain than before. You just have to keep using it continously.

I wasn't convinced I could handle it due to sensitivities....this one was recommended. I have had my 1st 2 coffees this morning with this and VOILA I am sold. I did everything wrong that SHOULD have made it be lumpy but nope, totally dissolved. No Taste at all. Wouldn't know it's there. I will try updating if I notice health benefits as well. Obviously too soon to know, but I would recommend this product based on the basics thus far. And thank you for the fast shipment!

Absolutely brilliant. Really great for joints. An old injury I manage remains discomfort free when I am taking this regularly. It’s tasteless and therefore great in my porridge.
