I didn't know if that was a good answer or a bad one
Pillow had a Hospital/Medical odor when it arrived. I set it outside in the sun for a day and then put it in a dryer with a softner sheet. This did fluff it up considerably. Amazon did send me a sticker to send it back at no cost. I e-mailed the maker and ask about it since it was made in China. I think of lead, formaldehyde and other toxins when China is mentioned. They stated they are randomly screened for those exact things. I didn't know if that was a good answer or a bad one. Pillow is large and heavy. It's good for back support while reading or watching TV. It might be a little to big as my neck is bent up and not even with my spine. I wouldn't purchase another.

Horrible smell. NOT machine washable.
I ordered this pillow because of all the great reviews. In hindsight, I see that most of them have disclaimers though stating that the reviewer was paid for their review (i.e. usually given a free pillow... which is the same as payment.) Shame on Amazon for allowing these tainted reviews.I bought this pillow for $27. When it arrived, it smelled awful. I let it sit out for a day before putting in a pillow case and trying it out. I slept well on it, and it felt good, but in the morning my wife could smell it on my neck, and she didn't like it. After 3 days with no change in the smell, I decided to wash it because one of the Amazon photos says "Machine Washable". I took the pillow out of it's zipper cover and put both in my LG front loading washing machine with no other clothing. I used cold water and the medium spin speed. The pillow lining that holds all of the "foam nuggets" split on both sides, bunched up, and allowed the nuggets to come out. See the photo of one side (both looked about the same). Before the lining ripped, you could not see any other foam nuggets. I would not recommend this because of the smell, and because it is not machine washable, as advertised.

Love it!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this pillow! I am a stomach and side sleeper and have many problems with my neck. I wake up in pain frequently and recently I pulled a muscle really badly and my chiropractor said to absolutely stop sleeping on my stomach. I then began looking for a better pillow. I found the shredded memory foam ones and after reading reviews decided to try it. This one was much less expensive than the $45 ones and I decided to try and invest less just to see if I liked it. As people say, it comes rolled up and flat. You undo it and it begins to slowly fluff up. I punched it a little and let it "rise" for a few hours. WOW! So cool how it gets nice and plump. I have had much better night's sleep since getting this pillow. It is beyond comfortable for me. It is firm but not so firm that it feels uncomfortable. It sinks in just enough but my neck still feels nice and supported. I love this pillow so much, I bought another one! Would recommend trying it!

Not a bad pillow for firm pillow fans.
First off let me say that unlike just about every other review I see on here, I was NOT lucky enough to get this pillow free - I paid full price for it.I bought both this pillow and the Classic Brands shredded memory foam pillow (Amazon product B00UJ9BFCY) at the same time, so I will occasionally refer to that as the "Classic" pillow for the sake of comparison. It should be noted that neither of these pillows were amazing, but of the 2 I did prefer this one slightly.SMELL:I didn't really notice much off-gasing or other bad smells from this pillow. I did give it 12+ hours to sit before I used it and if I stuck my nose in it I could smell a bit of a synthetic smell, as is common in memory foam products when they are new, but it was far from overwhelming. The smell of this and the Classic pillow were equal, and in this aspect I would give the pillow an A-SIZE: This pillow is actually pretty decent size - It is much less thick than the Classic brand pillow, which is a good thing - Unless you particularly like huge pillows you should be happy with the size : A-WEIGHT:This pillow weighs more than a non memory foam pillow, but FAR less than the classic brand one, The weight really is not problematic. : B+FOAM MATERIAL:I haven't cut this pillow open so I can't say what the exact material is, but I can say that it is indeed at least partially memory foam as you do get the slow-sink feel and it does like to maintain its shape (sometimes almost to a fault). I like that this is a memory foam pillow, but I wish it also had a bit more spring to it. To fluff it up you have to either put it in the dryer or pound on it with your fist - not nearly as easy as fluffing up a traditional pillow. The pillow tends to feel quite firm - perhaps good for some, I would have preferred a bit more fluffyness to go with the memory foam - perhaps a blend of foam and traditional filling - regardless the filling in this pillow is much better than that in the Classic Brands pillow because it is less "chunky" ... I'll give this category a solid B.COVER:It is soft enough - nothing remarkable, but overall good. It is removable with an easy zipper which is really nice - the classic brand was not removable. I'll give the cover an A.OTHER DETAILS:Unlike the Classic Brands pillow which says you should never put it in the dryer, this pillow actually encourages it to fluff it up.Overall I give the pillow a B-. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Perhaps memory foam just isn't right for me - I suspect an expensive high-end memory foam pillow would likely have better results for me however. I would not likely purchase it again, but for users who like firm pillows I may recommend it. For me I would like to have a softer, more finely shredded memory foam, but this is obviously subjective. The pillow was what it was advertised as and was not a bad deal for the price that it is sold at as long as you don't mind the firmness. I would say this pillow is probably best for side sleepers, though stomach sleepers may have good luck with it as well.

NOT ALL MEMORY FOAM. ( brown paper )
These are HONEST REVIEWS. I am a spinal patient. I have had several 5 spinal surgeries in two years time. These were do to rapid degeneration an scoliosis. I also have a extremely weak immune system an battle allergies. I had thought these pillows would be a huge help. When we received them ( I purchased two) they looked wrapped well an such, they came with no directions. Not a big deal I looked them up to see how long to let them set, so they would fluff up. The day past and it was time to lay down an I felt something extremely hard, this being said.. through my pillow case, through the bamboo zippered case, now I'm down to the filled regular thin foam lined case. I opened it up by the seam on the end. I was SHOCKED, ANGRY and tired to boot. What I found was pieces of different types of foam (not all memory foam) some even STYROFOAM!!! I dig an pull out more only to see BROWN PAPER SHREDS. STIFF brown paper. I sent a email an got NO RESPONSE. As far as I can say the ONLY GOOD would be the few pieces of regular honest memory foam I found and the outter zipper case.
