Graywind Motorized Shades 100% Blackout Work with Alexa Google WiFi Hardwired Smart Roller Shade Remote Control Automated Blinds, Customized Size (Jacquard White)

When I first saw this roller shade listed on Amazon, I was very interested but was somewhat hesitant to attempt to customize it online without ever speaking to the seller Graywind in China. However, I continued, because I really liked the sound of their product. With emailed assistance from Graywind, I chose a fabric, a custom width and length, and chose to have the motor mounted on the left end of the shade's housing. After submitting the order, I received an acknowledgment from the Graywind which included very detailed specifications of what I’d ordered. I was then required to confirm that the specs were correct before they would continue to fulfill my order. Assembling my customized shade and shipping from China took less than 3 weeks from order date to delivery via FedEx. The order was packed very securely and arrived with zero damage. The Graywind people were extremely helpful before and after I placed the order. They sent me 2 sample fabric kits for which I paid several dollars, but I was reimbursed for the samples when I placed my order. Physically installing the shade was very easy. After carefully mounting the hanger brackets over my window it was simply a matter of snapping the shade’s housing into the spring-loaded brackets. I then plugged the shade in, put two AA batteries into the remote control, and tested the up/down motion of the shade. It worked great, except that the upper and lower limits were not set exactly where I wanted them to be. At first I had trouble setting the limits. So I emailed Graywind. They answered within a few hours and told me I had to remove the old limits before I could set new limits. After I did this, the new limits set immediately. The next set-up step was to get the shade connected to wi-fi. I first downloaded the Tuya app for my iPhone but had trouble connecting the shade to the network with it. Then I tried the Smart Life app and it connected nicely. I also have it connected to Google Home. I can say "OK Google, Raise the Roller Shade" to open it. Voice commands also work for closing it or stopping it at a certain % of the way down. As an unexpected treat, I was able to create a Routine in Google Home that automatically raises the shade a half hour after sunrise and lowers it a half hour after sunset based on my geographical location. I might fine-tune these times as I go along but the fact is that it works very well. One thing I was unsure about was the remote control. It seemed quite flimsy and fragile. It fell about three feet off a table and the front of it popped off. Fortunately I was able to snap it back in place. Actually, I will probably be using voice commands and timed schedules more than the remote. However, I was concerned that it might fail, as I might need it in the future to reset limits or change some other setup detail. I emailed my concern about the remote to Graywind and they promptly replied that they will send me a replacement. Overall, I am very happy with the shade and I hope it lasts me a long time. I am also very impressed by Graywind’s quick order turn-around time and their excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

The shade is beautiful and works perfectly. Physical installation took 10 minutes and it worked immediately with the remote. The company even emailed me within a day of placing my order to check measurements and to make sure I wanted the hardwired power instead of rechargeable battery. Getting it to work with Alexa, even with the specific dot/echo versions they recommend, took more work. You still have to install the Graywind app on your phone (which gave me anxiety b/c it has had very few downloads and mediocre ratings) and tinker some to get them talking. But now I have a blackout shade for the bedroom that I scheduled to go down every night at 11pm and up at 7am. No longer will our neighbor's dumb, super-sensitive, strobe security light wake us up 25 times a night - and we can still have daylight in the morning to help wake us up! I am extremely pleased with the purchase and will be getting more soon for the other bedrooms on that neighbor's side of the house.

We have the WiFi version that plugs directly into 120vac and I also ordered the optional remote. These are custom made in China and then shipped directly to you. Ours took about 3 weeks from order to delivery, actually not bad. The shade was very well packed and provided a great first impression. The shade was easy to mount. I measured our window for inside mount and the shade fits perfectly! It is very quiet and appears to be built very well. But, the instructions for connecting to WiFi need to be more clear or they need to redesign the location of the blue LED. On one side of the shade is a small button and a yellow LED that you need to use to configure the shade. What I didn't notice is there is a blue LED you need to see flashing when adding to WiFi but is barely seen behind the button. I wasted some time trying unsuccessfully to connect the shade to my WiFi before finally seeing it. I was expecting the yellow LED to turn blue but that's not how it works. After knowing where to look for a "blue" LED, I was able to get it connected to my WiFi. It uses the Smart Life app on your phone to make it "smart". I already use that app for all my smart outlets in my house so it was no problem simply adding the shade to it. That all went smoothly. I used the app to set the shade upper / lower limits and the favorite button. The up/down/favorite buttons on the app are the same as the remote. Next was the task of adding it to Google Home (I don't use Alexa). Since I already had Smart Life linked to Google Home, I simply added the new "curtain" to the appropriate room and I was done! Now we can tell Google to "Open Shade", "Close Shade", "Open Shade 50%", etc. Overall, we are very happy with this shade and may consider buying more. Installation was easy and once you get past connecting it to your WiFi, everything else went as expected.

I have almost Alexa-fied my house except the blinds. So I first ordered two of this smart blinds. They were excellent so I ordered total eight blinds from the seller. I have uploaded a video showing the Alexa voice controlled operation of the blinds. In short great smart blinds and excellent customer service. Below is the list of pros and cons: One important thing about shipment time. It will show you months to ship but they will appear in 2-3 weeks!!! 1. Excellent customer service. The best I have seen in my Amazon’s 7 yr experience. I could easily give 10 stars just for their prompt responses and helpful discussions over the email. They will customize your order as per your need. Thanks a lot ‘Tina’ and the team! 2. Very good material of the blind. 3. Smart blind, voice controlled, battery operated, schedule operation. It also has a remote to operate individual blinds or all of them in one click. 4. You can set schedule in the Alexa app once you add all the blinds in Geeklink app and the hub. You can group your blinds as you need in the Alexa app. 5. It is battery operated which is a big plus as you don’t have arrange cords to power. I have just used them for a week. Let’s see how long the charge remains. I run the blinds twice as by schedule (open in the morning, close at night). 6. Installation is very easy. Only you have to drill two per blinds (inside mount). 7. Charging port is outside so easy to plug in when needs charging. 8. When many blinds are ordered, they pre program the remote so you do not have go through any programming. Just add it in the app. Cons: 1. Nothing at all except the Geeklink app has only three controls (open, close, stop). Hope they add voice prompt such as “open 20%” or. “Close 50%” etc. 2. The programming of the blinds with the remote can get tricky. You just have to follow the steps. 3. I have seen sometime one of the blinds in the group will not operate as scheduled. Not sure what were the issue. But you can close it by remote/app/voice command 4. The sound of the motor may feel too loud. Indeed it is loud. But it will not wake you up :) Overall I am very satisfied with the product and the excellent customer service (they even offer discounts when you buy many of the blinds). Lets see the longevity and the charging frequency. Will update if any issue or not upto the commitment.

Love this blind! It is in my kitchen window, where certain times of the year the sun beats down. It took me awhile to get it installed because there is a wine rack above it. I did get it in after a couple of attempts, works great.

I was looking for a motorized blind solution for my mother’s sliding glass door. Her vertical blinds were just a mess and we didn’t want to go back in with the old solution. What I love about this company was the buying experience, they reached out to confirm my selection, sizing and equipment. They answered all of my questions perfectly and delivered the product earlier than originally quoted. Their customer service is top-notch. The material is great quality. You have so many options such as whether you want the motor on the left or right, if you want the shade to roll over or under, you can set your settings in the app to a favorite position and can set upper and lower limits for blind. It’s also compatible with Google and Alexa and has two remote options. We have ours in the devices with our Google home and my 76 years young Mom is just tickled that she can raise and lower the blind “all by herself”. 😊. From the picture (apologies it’s not clearer), we chose an outside mount and it was very easy to install. Took less than 2 hours from beginning to end. The material is a jacquard linen with a soft backing. I chose the weighted bottom in the same material as well as a jacquard valance. We are very happy with our purchase.

My husband and I are both sensitive sleepers and require pure darkness to fall asleep. That dark environment also makes it difficult to wakeup in the morning, so we started looking into smart blinds that would open in the morning at whatever time we specify. We found that these types of blinds can be extremely expensive, but luckily Amazon came to the rescue! These are custom made to fit your exact specifications and with any additional features you choose! Because it's custom made, it took about 3-5 weeks from the time it was ordered to the time it delivered. We were in awe at how perfectly the shade fit in our window. The very simple yet thorough instructions on how to install and how to download the mobile app and setup the smart device sync was so easy. We do have blackout curtains on each side of the window to prevent the light that gets through the edges, but I think they have an option for a light blocker on the right and left edges of your window. Not something we needed, but it's a nice option. This purchase has made us so happy and makes waking up so much more enjoyable and easy. Totally 100% recommend!
