Super Standard Madoline Slicer, with with 4 Japanese Stainless Steel Blades, Almond

A really useful, easy clean, space saving, and wonderful slicer. Its easy to set up and adjust, its very stable, has multiple blades and is scarily sharp! The cutting 'bed' and blade is far wider than my last one which makes it great for slicing bigger veg. Such as cabbage. It works so well Im happy to prepare coleslaw fresh just prior to a meal as it takes very little time at all. It is superb for making saurkraut easily without the mess of using a food processor. It also juliennes carrots or other veg. Really easily - brilliant little device!

This is a great piece of kit. I make a lot of preserves, especially at Christmas time and this mandoline made very light work of 3 kilos of red onions this morning which have now been turned into relish. My old OXO one was years old and, as it wasn’t sharpenable like this Benriner one is, has become dangerous and also just wouldn’t cut onions or tomatoes etc any more. As it is very sharp, you obviously need to use the holder provided or wear a cut glove (as I do). Even so, care is needed just the same as using any sharp blade. I’m very happy with my purchase and think this will last a very long time.

I've always used the narrow version of the Benriner and it's served me well, but I was specifically after this one for the adjustment knob at the bottom that lets you dial in the thickness. It makes a real difference, giving you consistent, even slices every time rather than guessing, which matters a lot when you want everything to cook evenly. The wider body is also welcome, so larger vegetables don't hang over the edge the way they sometimes did on the narrow model, and having the four Japanese stainless blades means you're covered from fine julienne up to thicker cuts. The blades are properly sharp straight out of the box, as you'd expect from Benriner. If you've been getting by with the narrow one, the thickness control alone makes this worth it. A great bit of kit for anyone who cooks a lot at home.

I love this mandolin. It works well and is easy to use and clean. The blade is extremely sharp. It easily cuts through carrots (which are really hard). You can easily slice off your fingertips with this mandolin. The safety guard that comes with it isn't great, so I don't use it. You must get a cut-proof glove to use this. Cut-proof gloves come in different grades. Grade F is the most cut-resistant (so the safest), but Grade E or D will be ok. When buying, if it doesn't say the grade, don't buy. And by a branded glove from a trusted source.

This is nice and easy to use but watch that you don't slice your fingers, it's very sharp. I used it to prepare fruit and vegetables for dehydration and it worked very well for this purpose. Larger vegetables like squash have to be cut into smaller pieces first, but it is fine for even larger size apples. I did not try it with softer fruit like plums, mangoes, or tomatoes, but I think it would be fine as the blades are very sharp, as long as the pits are removed first. You could also use this for making your own potato or yam chips. It is easy to use over a large bowl or pot to catch things in. It seems to be fairly durably made and you can get replacement blades for it, so I expect to get a good number of years of use out of it.

La mejor mandolina, desde hace tiempo que la quería comprar, hasta hace poco la adquirí y no le arrepiento, excelente todo, 4 cuchillas diferentes, estoy encantada con ella!!!
