Large, sturdy, reliable. stylish. Perfect rising desk.
I bought this desk 6 months ago, as it became clear that I will be working from home due to the COVID epidemic. I didn't mean to wait this long to post a review, since it was immediately clear that the desk was top-quality. But now I can say that after 6 months of use I am extremely happy with it. Here is why: - It is extremely sturdy. Whether raised or lowered, I can lean on it, bump it, move stuff on it, type, etc. and it is comparable in stability to a regular desk. - The desk is huge! I can fit everything on it - 3 monitors, a docked laptop, 2 keyboards and mice (see picture). I could even fit my gaming desktop, if I needed to. - The range of motion exceeds many other desks. I'm 6ft and I like to keep at 45" when standing. - The two motors are powerful and have worked without a hitch for the last 6 months. - The surface looks and feels high-quality. It brings me joy :) I have absolutely no negatives to report. Additional things that I want to share: - It came with a free cable organizer tray that mounts underneath and is great for managing power strips and cables. - The desk comes in 3 packages. Fedex mishandled the desktop and delivered it after a long delay with the packaging severely damaged. Apex offered to replace the desktop, but the damage was minor enough that I chose to keep it. I was impressed at how they handled the situation. - I like the desk so much that I ordered a second one (71" black) two months ago, for my wife. It came without issues and when the I saw the original undamaged packaging, it made it obvious how badly Fedex had mishandled the first desktop. - The desk is easy to assemble. It is best to have 2 people to complete a couple of the steps.

Great Purchase - ApexDesk Elite Series 71" Standing desk with Electric Height Adjustment
I purchased the ApexDesk Elite Series 71" Standing desk with Electric Height Adjustment and Memory Controller, with the Red Apple Top and Black Frame. I work from home and was sitting all the time and have had back and neck problems, as I've been working on a computer for decades. I bought this so I could have better posture when working for hours, with less pain. The shipment came in 3 boxes as expected and all were in very good shape with no damage. Everything was packed very well and protected with hard styrofoam and plastic. I followed the instructions to verify I had all pieces before getting started, which I always do anyway, and had everything I needed. The instructions were mostly clear, but the diagrams in the instructions are too small and hard to verify that I had parts connected correctly, or had the correct screws. Even using reader glasses, I couldn't quite make out how some parts were supposed to be connected, but it wasn't that hard to figure out. I mostly installed it myself with the help of one other person to lift the frame and top when needed. It's easier to use two people and will save your back. The frame is very heavy duty and sturdy, and desk top is very good quality and sturdy. I chose the Red Apple Top as it matches my decor and goes well together. The company also sent me the cable management tray, even though I didn't order it. I wasn't sure I needed it, and was going to purchase later if needed. Well, it is needed to hide your cords, if you don't want the cords to be laying on the ground and hanging down. If they didn't send it to me, I would have ordered it. Now my cables are out of the way, and looks very professional, and very simple to install. In addition to the desk cords for raising and lowering, I was able to use for my other cables I well - network cable, monitor cables, etc. I completed the install and setup last night and started using the desk this morning. I love standing when working. This also has a memory height adjustment, which you can set, then press a button to raise / lower to a specific height. This is nice, as I don't have to play around if I like a certain or not. Press the button and it goes right where I want it. It has 4 different memory buttons. I'm also glad I got the large 71" desk. My older desk was a little smaller, and love the additional space. I have two large computer monitors, my laptop, a lamp, my wireless router, keyboard and mouse and a place to write on a notepad, and it's not cramped. I also did a lot of research on stand up desks before I bought this one. In fact, I did purchase a stand-up desk previously, the kind that sits on your desk, but it was way too heavy for my desk and I decided I didn't like that style. The helped me decided that I wanted a full computer desk. It's working great so far, and I love the sturdiness of the desk. It was a great purchase, and I should've done this a long time ago.

What a great deal for working from home.
It took me a few weeks to get all the parts due to the wild fires since it ships in three packages. I was really worried about the top being damaged, but other then one small scuff on one of the corners it was immaculate. I had already watched assembly videos as well as read through the manual several times to make sure I was ready. I have a smaller standing desk in my work office, and I almost bought the same brand for home, I am so glad I didn't. This is a very nice desk, and I went with the 71" version since I am teleworking and need the extra space. I have a 34" monitor as well as a 27" monitor, a mini pc in the corner and a laptop on each side. I still have room for my XXL mouse pad and my coffee, notebooks and pens. This desk is huge, but it's exactly what I needed. I also got the cable management tray with my order and it works really well. It's not necessary, but with the amount of devices I have it's nice. It's big enough to put a power strip in and connect my monitors etc. and then just run one cord down to my UPS system. I also purchased separately the powered outlets for the cutouts in the corners of the desk, another great addition. I am able to charge my phone, run several other USB devices, and rotate through drive docks, laptops etc. Without having to get down on the floor. Each one has 2 powered outlets as well as 2 USB ports. Motors are faster than my other desk, it goes up and down very smoothly and very fast. I read another review where they put 325 pounds on top of it and it still went up at 1.4 inches per second, it's faster than that normally. 4 position memory controller is a nice addition. It was also very simple to build compared to other desks I have put together. The legs are very heavy and sturdy. Having a second person to move the top is advisable just so you don't damage it. The cutouts make it very easy for 2 people to maneuver the top, I built the frame and then set it on top of the frame and secured it from underneath. I just didn't have enough room in my office to lay the top down and then set the frame on it to secure it and then flip it over. It was still really easy to do. Manual was clear and easy to follow. Packaging was done very well, it comes in 3 boxes, the cross beam is packed extremely well with all the other parts, the legs comes in a second box, and then the top comes separate. Even the top was packaged very well, having just one little scruff, but considering it weighs over 60 pounds I was impressed. It came from the factory with a custom webbed carry strap, one of the straps broke in shipping, but I could still use the other strap and the handle to carry it in my house. Great tracking info and good communication from Apex. For under $750 I got a 71" adjustable Walnut desk with 4 power outlets, 4 usb ports and a cable management tray, honestly a very good value for what I got. Hope this review helps people on the fence, you get better than what you pay for with this desk. Btw, I don't find this desk wobbly at standing height considering how much weight i have on it. Keep in mind I have both a n Alienware 34" monitor in the back center and another 27" monitor on one side of it. Really nice desk.

Amazingly sturdy
I purchased this desk a year ago, and thought it was time for me to write a review. If I had to provide a tl;dr It would be that it's a solid product, and I think this product will last for a long time. I am not worried about the desk breaking - you'd probably have to try and run it over with a car if you wanted to even damage it. Everything about this desk screams heavy duty. You might be wondering "oh, this desk has a MDF/particleboard desktop, is that REALLY sturdy?" and let me assure you - it is sturdy. Some of the boards I've run across on some of other desks I used in the past gave me this extremely hollow feeling when I knocked on it. It is absolutely NOT the case with this one. The desktop is weighty, dense, and has a quality feel to it. Knocking on the desktop gives me a solid, satisfying thud. Even though I purchased and assembled this a year ago, I still remember how relatively easy it was to assemble this desk. However, I also remember that at one point I wasn't paying attention to the assembly steps and accidentally screwed in the feet to the column in the wrong orientation. Fortunately, fixing this was quick and easy. If you have the manual handy, the mistake I made has to do with the instructions on page 6 - essentially my mind blanked out when I was assembling the two legs and I just assembled both legs in the exact way as shown in the picture, and ended up with two right legs, instead of one left leg and one right leg. Just don't make the same mistake I did! 71 inch model is probably almost too big for my apartment, but that's not really something to complain about considering how many gadgets I like to play with. If I had to write a complaint about this product, the only complaint is that I'm not a fan of beveled edges. If you go through the Q&A and some of the reviews, you'll also notice people expressing the same disappointment. The beveled edge on this desk makes it difficult for anyone to use mounts that clamp on to the desk. If the clamp mount isn't deep enough, it'll end up clamping the bevel, and that might result in an unstable mount. I really think ApexDesk should reconsider the design, or at least provide a way for users to flatten the bevel - perhaps a piece of angled wood that the user can affix to the beveled edge. I knew about the beveled edges when I purchased this, so I'm not dinging them for this - I just wish the design was improved. I did reach out to ApexDesk about this, and they were willing to send me a metal plate that I could put on the bottom of the desk to partially stabilize the mount. However, I'm still disappointed that a large oversight like this happened, given the popularity of clamp mounts. ApexDesk also informed me that they sold monitor mounts with deep clamps, but they were not the type of monitor mounts that I was interested in. If this is an issue for you - you can either take a look at the monitor mounts ApexDesk offers, or purchase a monitor reinforcement bracket. Both of them are available on Amazon. To sum up - I think this is a quality product that will last a while. Even if the motors fail outside of the 2 year warranty - I still can see myself just using the desk without the adjustable part. I'm really hoping it doesn't fail though! This is a solid desk at a very decent price point. There's a lot of options out there, but I'm glad I went with this desk.

Spacious with room to work from home
I was so excited to get this product and I wasn't disappointed. I was worried about it's sturdiness. Passed!, it is very very sturdy. I was worried about the looks and the wood top. Passed! it looks great. The real black wood top is great looking and very sturdy and has nice chamfered edges. It DOES NOT look cheap or feel cheap. Even though it is not a cheap desk, it was worth the money. I give it a big BUY. And as a woman, it was easy to put to together. The top is heavy (which is good) because it is sturdy so I suggest putting it on a chair and your couch and pulling it onto the frame, but cover the frame with towels so you don't scratch it. And the biggest PLUS for this desk is the EXTRA pop outs on both sides of you which gives you that little extra room . It's nice to have that little extra space to hold a notebook or a laptop that you plug into a couple of monitors. I give all stars and say Go for it, it's a buy from me. Oh and the adjustable actuators and memory key pad so worth it...I am up and down all day with a touch a pad, so go for it...

Perfectly adequate desk that moves
I spent a good month researching sit stand desks. At one point I'd convinced myself that the only way to go was by choosing a $1500+ model to make sure it was of adequate quality. Ultimately I decided to take a chance on this desk and you know what? The desk is perfectly fine. It looks good(though I'd of preferred a more glossy white finish). The dimensions are perfect for someone who wants a minimalist setup or an all-out command station with multiple devices. Assembly was a 20 minute, frustration free process. It's completely stable at all height ranges. Nit picks: I do wish it came with a memory controller for the height adjustment. It's not much of a hassle to hold the button to go up or down, but it'd be nice to just tap it and move on with my life. Speaking of the up/down action: While I've never been unable to get the desk to the height I want, sometimes it seems overly sensitive to any resistance it senses and I'll have to stop and start the process a few times to get it where I want. I haven't exactly figured out what causes it stop going up or down while holding the button. I know there's a built in safety feature to prevent it from moving when it's obstructed, but I can't quite figure out what it deems as obstruction. Cords perhaps? And there doesn't seem to be much consistency to when it decides to do it. Sometimes it's totally fine, and other times I'll have to stop and start it 9x to get it where I want. Of note, I actually wasn't really looking for a sit/stand desk. I just wanted a large surface area that wasn't a plastic folding table or from Ikea(none local for me). It's really hard to find a desk with these dimensions. But what I love about this desk is that even for sitting the height adjustment is great. All of my previous desks were never quite the right height for me. This one is the perfect height for me because I control the height. Do I find myself standing up while computing? All the time. I have a polar chest strap heart rate monitor and did a very unscientific experiment that would make my 5th grade science teacher cringe. I measured my average heart rate while seated vs while standing and found that, for me, I expend about 10 percent more energy standing. I feel great being slightly more active while doing something that is fairly non-physical like using my computer. I tend to sit in the first few morning hours then stand from lunch until dinner. It hasn't been life changing for me nor have animals started to talk to me when I walk by, but it's nice and I enjoy it. The Apex desk is a good desk. This is one of those rare products that is exactly as it appears to be at a fair price: nothing more, nothing less.

The desk I had spent months looking for.
I use sit and stand desks at work and decided that since I spend just as much time behind the computer at home that it was time to invest in a good desk. Previously I had been using a really tiny desk from Target that was like 50 bucks. It was uncomfortable, cramped, and I could tell that it was effecting my health. So I began searching for a real desk that could support my ergonomic needs and my vast array of monitors that I had bunched up and crammed onto my old desk. I looked at veridesk, UpLift, Ikea, ect. I was pretty discouraged by how much sit and stand desk would cost me. 800, 900 dollars for desk that I just wasn't falling in love with. They were either too small, only had one motor, didnt have memory controls, or were just plain ugly. I kept googling and came accross Apex desk. What a godsend! I read the reviews about the outstanding customer service and quality of these desks and at 600 dollars, it was also the cheapest option I could find for a 72" tabletop. So I impulse bought it. No more than 3 days later the first set of parts arrived on my front door. Now I was taken aback at first because I had received my tabletop and mounting brackets but not the legs. I was worried that they had gotten lost in transit or were just forgotten, as I didn't see any info about this on my Amazon order. I reached out to Apex customer service through the Amazon portal and they assured me that they would arrive the very next day. And they did. All the parts were in perfect condition. The tabletop was gorgeous out of the box, the legs were near spotless with very good and attractive welding. All the parts fit and screwed together very nicely. Instructions were clear. All in all it took me roughly an hour to put the whole thing together. I take my time with these kinds of things though. I get the desk backed up the wall and put my 4 monitors, PC, and speakers on there and there is still so much room leftover! Exactly what I wanted/needed. The cable routing holes in the back corners were perfect for keeping the space clean. The desk is very stable when it's at very high heights, though it rarely is because i am only 5'6". And it's solid as a rock at a normal sitting height. I do wish it went a little lower as I like to have my chair very low to the ground because my legs are on the shorter end of the spectrum. But its nothing a foot rest cant fix which I am used to anyway. The motors are quick and stable and don't jerk under the weight of all my equipment. I feel like all of my stuff is very safe on this desk. For the price, you really can't beat this. It's enormous, the tabletop is gorgeous and extremely durable, it has the best features you would want in a sit stand desk, and the customer service was quick and friendly. The only thing I would change is maybe offer non-curved tabletops and have the min height a little lower for us shorties. I will not recommend any other desk to anyone other than Apex desk.

Great desk; Exceptional customer service.
All I can say is wow. Like my other reviews, I'll go over the concerns I had before placing my order. 1) The wood desktop looks iffy... thin, poorly made particle board. - It is not "solid wood" per se but it is of very high quality and much thicker than photos give it credit for. Once you adjust the individual leg heights, there is zero wobble. The finish is not your average $80 Walmart laminate... it's shnazzy. I have 2x 24" monitors attached to a single monitor stand frame that is secured to the back side of the desktop. If you purposely try to shake the table, it will vibrate a little bit but not too bad. Typing and regular surface contact will be no issue. 2) How about the motor? And who the heck is Aerodesk? - My desk arrived in immaculate condition. The frame is SERIOUSLY rugged, every tool you need is included (a very decent screwdriver and 2 allen wrenches) and to top it off: all the screws are LABELED... in individual zip lock bags?! Every piece of this desk is thought out... down to the screws... which did not strip or struggle going into the desktop, metal frame, etc. The threads are smooth as butter. The packaging job alone was very good and everything is highly protected. I got the desk together in no time and tested the motor. Worked beautifully. Very smooth movement and absolutely no struggle. So I assembled my desk and low and behold, the engine failed. In my depressed state, I made the call to Apexdesk and what do you know... NO answer. 5:30 Eastern time. UGH. I left a voicemail. This is what I get for giving an unknown company 600 big ones. How the heck am I going to package this monstrosity up and ship it back? Less than 5 minutes later, my phone rings and on the other end: a very friendly customer support agent. I took 30 seconds to explain that I had gone through the FAQ and tested all the possible fixes. She was courteous. She was helpful. She was understanding and respectful. 3 minutes later, she is confirming my name and address and sending me out a replacement motor. Zero hesitation. No judgement. Not only that, but she expedited the package free of charge and I received it within ONE DAY. I called her on Tuesday in the late evening and it arrived Thursday morning. WOW! The new motor works great. I feel a kid in an elevator, smiling as I watch it lug my very heavy monitor setup + stereo system up and down without incident. I'm going to be a broken record one last time: Photographs do NO justice for the quality of this product. The metal frame is SOLID and makes my DIY IKEA Bekant base seem like Fisher Price. If you are not trained in lifting products properly, you could EASILY throw your back out lifting just one leg of this beast. I would post photos but I am embarrassed at my lack of wire management at the moment. I work full time from home and also spend many hours gaming and farting around the mechanical keyboard community afterwards. This battlestation is not complete. I will post more details later on for those of you who are concerned about the motor's longevity.
