Not recommended, Because it's a natural product it will contrast and expand with extreme temperatures. That will make it leak and possibly crack.

Bought a couple, I wouldn't say they have a really bad smell. It is made of horn so there will be a slight odor after the first couple of washes, but honestly you'll get that no matter what horn cup you get. These however have the added bonus of the carvings
