Despite the rear top cases' huge size and capacity, its universal mounting plate and brackets fit snugly with precision and stability like a model specific designed for my Can Am Ryker. An excellent addition to my must have accessories for my Trike.

Installed on a cruiser that had a passenger back rest and cargo shelf. I removed the backrest and installed the top box on the cargo shelf. If worked very well. The integrated backrest is a bit hard but will do. I might swap the backrest for a piece of leather covered foam later. UPDATE: The wires for the light needed to be resoldered. to avoid this, tape the wires down so they don't move around inside the box. Still love this top box and will probably buy another for my next bike. Haven’t tried to connect the lights yet. Before I do i’ll Have to rig a quick disconnect so I can easily remove the top box from the bike. Also haven’t decided if I want the lights to be brake or running there are only two wires so no combination light. Might modify it with a fitting for a 2 element light bulb or even LEDs. The box is big enough to hold one modular full face helmet and some gear. Doubt I could put two modular helmets in there. The box fits onto the mounting plate very well. There are rubber pads to keep it from vibrating. I like that locking the box keeps people from removing the box from the mount. For the price this thing is pretty darn good. Doesn’t look bad at all even leather luggage on the sides of my cruiser. There is a goofy sticker on the top of some blue cartoon character which came off cleanly.

The box is good value for the money. Well constructed, the lid seals well and should easily protect the contents from the elements. Easily holds a full face modular helmet. The squarish slim design makes for a lot of useable space. It comes with a sturdy metal base plate, I ,however, chose to use a Givi monokey rack. It looks good on my ST1100. Easy to peel off the not so attractive blue decal. I ordered the light kit. Wiring is neat and secure inside the box, with plenty of lead to secure a connector of choice. The lid stays open. The security strap makes a triangle when fastened ,however, one section always spans the width of the box so it tends to get in the way when loading the box. Locking mechanism is secure.

The shape and size is very good, and the price is adequate. However, it is extremely heavy (fully loaded with not very heavy stuff the scale marked 16kg.... for a loaded top case.

This product deserves a review for being a good value. I purchased and installed it just before a ride from Boston to Phoenix, and it worked out great. I could not bring myself to spend $1200 for a BMW topcase. It may be nice, but spending that much is just plain wrong, so I went with this option and saved myself a bundle. It looks ok. It can take a full face XL helmet. It has good storage, but is not oversized as some cases are. Overall it is a good topcase, there is not that much science put into a large plastic box, so spending a small fortune on one just feels wrong to me. The one downside I put in the sturdiness category. The case shell itself is fine, and feels ad good as many others. But the latch that closes and locks the case feels like it is the weak point. It is made of a hard plastic, the type that feels almost brittle, such as something that might crack on a cold day when forced into place. There is not much force on the plastic latch that hooks over the lip of the case and pulls it closed. So there is no immediate risk of it breaking, and it should not break during normal use. Where I picture it could break is when rushing to close an overstuffed case on a cold day (I have used it on many near freezing days). I tend to use my equipment harshly. So with this case I make a point to slow down and close it carefully, not forcing the latch, and I expect it will never fail that way. I do recommend this case, and would buy another for a newer BMW RT whenever I get to buy one, but I have 40k miles left in my current RT before it starts to show its age, and after those miles I expect this case will still be on the back.
