DEWALT IMPACT READY Locking Bit Holders provide users exactly what they need when fastening or drilling with hex-shank accessories. The locking mechanism securely keeps the accessory in place during use and the quick-change features makes it easy to change accessories on the job. Robust magnetism provides optimal fastener retention for screw driving applications and the durable, uniquely designed locking mechanism allows users to not only drive with 1 screw driving bits, but accept all hex-shank accessories; making these holders accept 2 bits and longer, as well as hex-shank drill bits. The slim profile allows users to complete more applications than bulkier, competitive designs like countersinking screws in brackets or when installing fasteners in close quarters.

Amazing
Amazing bit holder, has a magnetic slot, which when pushed down then locks. Very solid, doesn't wiggle any bits I put into it and the quality is very appealing and functional.

The BEST bit holder
I assemble a lot of furniture that uses hex head bolts and screws and always struggle with the bits pulling out of the magnetic bit holders. After years of being annoyed by this, I started looking for a new bit holder. The majority of my tools are Dewalt so I had little doubt when I started reading the reviews for this bit holder it would work well. It's very easy to use and holds the bits completely secure until you pull back on the lower end of the bit holder to release the bit. Simple accessory that's worth every penny and high quality construction. I expect this will last a long time but I might buy another just in case it gets misplaced because I won't use any other bit holder again. Highly recommended.

AWESOME! I bought 5 of these!
I have a farm, and a full shop - and own multiple Dewalt Impact drivers.Using extensions like this with these is necessary for most bits - and generally they suck (too bulky to get into spaces, or too thin to last under impact - or the stupid bits keep falling out - or get stuck as the socket wears).I got one of these and it worked so well that I wound up tossing the rest of mine, and ordering 4 more of these. They lock tight and can be released from the bit using a quick-pull ring at the base. They are tough enough than none have deformed while using them - but also thin enough to get in pretty much everywhere.Wish I had found these sooner!

Best Bit Holder Ever
Best bit holder I have ever owned. Holds mechanically and magnetically, then release easily by pulling the collar back. No more bits falling out when working overhead or having to use pliers to get the bit out. A real time saver.

It's okay
I'll admit, I had doubts about this tool's ability to retain a fastener and they proved somewhat accurate. It does a good job retaining bits by magnetism and a locking mech that could work a little more smoothly. I wish it was a little shorter for access to tighter spaces but that really depends on the situation. The "short" story on this is you have to use really short bits so the fastener is relatively close to the tool's magnet or it isn't retained. Its ability to retain a longer fastener in the bit, like a 3 1/2" screw, is dubious at best. It would also be nice if the outer sheath rotated freely so it could be used to steady the aim with your free hand while the fastener is being driven but that might not be possible due to its mechanical locking feature. Its limitations are just that, limitations, when a few design improvements would broaden its usefulness and applicability. For true, solid magnetic retention of fasteners it's best to use the sliding magnetic collar design. DeWalt's metal magnetic collar seems to be the most solid and durable of these since other manufacture's offerings are cheap plastic with questionable durability. These collars require special "necked down" bits to work so setting up for all the different drives these days (SQ1&2, T25, T30, PH2 &3) gets kind of pricey. I'd hoped this would be a more economical alternative to that, and it is when using shorter screws in a situation its length allows.

Best Bit Holder
I should have replaced all the junky bit holders I struggled with over the years. No more bits falling out at just the wrong time. No more grabbing a pair of pliers to get the bit out. Rock Solid.

Really good bit
Works really great. Bit doesn’t come off and stays secure. Love that it’s magnetic so screws don’t fall off that easily. Would highly recommend it.

Best bit holder
Hands down the best bit holder I’ve ever tried. I like the slim profile and the locking feature
