Slammed Paperback – November 22, 2014

Having read the Consumed books I was quite interested in Jackson's story. I'll be honest, I did NOT like Selena at all through that entire series, not even a little. I thought she was an absolute horrible friend and Olivia should have shown her the door. She did grow on me a bit more in Slammed. Doubt I'd be bff's with her but I'd at least be able to have drinks with her.For me this had a lot of angst. I like angst. From the previous books we know there was a woman who totally screwed Jackson up. We see Jackson struggle with his past and try to move on. He has strong feelings for Selena but he doesn't know how to deal with them and go forward. We get the back story as to what all this beoch did to mess with our boy. Whoa. She literally f'd with him starting at 17. Amelia, you are beyond evil. You are a manipulative, conniving, cold hearted shrew. I want to punch you in the face and throw you out of a moving vehicle.We see Selena's struggle with trying to protect her heart from Jackson. All she wants is for him to love her. She wants to stay away, she can't take much more heartache from him. However, their connection is strong and she caves to him....again. I would like some more of her back story. We know she's got daddy issues but there has to be something else.There is angst, heartache, acceptance, and some twists and turns in this book.There's more in store for these two in Crushed.

It's not often I pick up a book and just simply can't put it down. Well, it happened with this one. I'm a big fan of Skyla Madi's work; have been ever since I read her Consumed Trilogy. And I didn't think I could love one of her characters more than I love Seth. But Jackson surprised me. I LOVE this book. Jackson's past comes back to haunt him when his ex, Amelia, comes back into the picture. Anyone who has been in an abusive relationship can identify with the barrage of emotions Jackson goes through, just trying to figure it all out. I won't put any spoilers in my review but you simply must buy this book. You won't regret it.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - OK so Jackson is a broken man, having been teased & taunted by a beautiful older redhead when he was just a teenager, fell deeply in love & learned the hard way that this was not how love should work, the emotional & physical pain, the way she made Jackson prove himself by putting him in dangerous situations to get her jollies, etc. Selena & Jackson started off with a friends-with-benefits arrangement & they both seem pretty kinky, but now Jackson knows Selena is in love with him & she is putting distance between them because she knows it isn't returned. All because Jackson can't let go of the painful past? I couldn't get into this book at all, I didn't like Jackson at all & he didn't really seem capable of giving Selena more than just sex.

This book was sooooo freaking addicting to read! I literally couldn't stop as soon as I started. The pacing was amazing, the characters are very lovable, and the end left me wanting more. If you're looking for a fun, PHENOMENAL read, this is definitely the book for you <3

I was happy when Skyla decided to do a book about Jackson. I loved the Consumed Series, but can not say the same about Jackson's story so far. To me the H & H were lacking chemistry and were weak, especially Jackson. What the heck happened to the Jackson we met in Consumed and where the h##ll is his b###s? I am hoping Skyla can turn things around in the second book, pity we have to wait to find out!

I am so happy Jackson and Selena got their own story. I loved reading about them in the Consumed series and was happy to see the gang again in this book. Jackson is hot and Selena is a mess, but she owns it and I love it. I wanted more of these two in this book. Can't wait until the next one.

I'm a huge skyla madi fan. I really like her writing. But I don't get this book. I don't get the relationship between the H and h. He's week. She's one of the weakest characters I've ever read. She just keeps telling him she loves him and he keeps walking out on her. WTF???? Nope, don't get it. Three stars just because I think the author is great but not this book.

Fantastic spin off from Olivia and Seth's story. Never would of guessed what Jackson was put through to make him the way he is.I think I would of enjoyed the story more if we heard about the journey of how Selena and Jackson got to where they were at the beginning of the book. I know we read briefly in the consumed trilogy about how Jackson was controlling of Selena such as with her smoking habit however I think the possessive and controlling elements of Jackson and Selenas defiant nature along with the sub-dom sex elements would of made good reading. However I feel like Skyla has made room to focus on that in the next book.This has definitely not affected my 5* rating as what I read was Skyla Madi at her best so much so that I read the book in half a morning and cannot wait for the next book.Skyla Madi has the power to suck you into her enthralling stories which stay with you long after reading. Sign of an amazingly talented author.

Another excellent book by Skyla brilliant story and it was good to catch up with Seth and Oliva I love all of Skyla's books and have re read them a lot can't wait for the next instalment will be watching Facebook so I know Asap when it will be released

I was sceptical of this book as we had learned so much about Selena and Jackson in the Consumed books but Skyla Madi managed to write a brilliant book that not only answered questions about Jacksons past but about Selena as a person and kinda wants to make you cuddle up to Jackson to make him feel better.You can read this book as a standalone from the Consumed books but it is worth while reading that series before reading this book.Well done Skyla another brilliant book.
