Ahmad Tea Green Tea, Gunpowder Loose Leaf, 500g - Caffeinated & Sugar Free

This gunpowder loose leaf green tea has quickly become my go-to green tea. The flavor is smooth, slightly bold, and just the right balance of earthy without being too bitter, especially if you don’t oversteep it. I love that it’s loose leaf—the quality feels much better than typical tea bags, and you can really taste the difference. The leaves unfurl nicely, and you can even get multiple steeps out of the same batch, which makes it a great value for the amount you get. It’s also a great price for how much tea you receive, so it lasts a long time. It’s naturally caffeinated, so it gives a gentle energy boost without feeling jittery, and I appreciate that it’s completely sugar-free. Overall, if you’re a green tea lover or looking for a reliable everyday tea, this is a solid choice. It’s definitely a staple in my kitchen now.

The Best! Best green tea I have ever had!

Arrived in good condition. As expected

This review is for the bagged jasmine green tea, 3/10/25. I used 175F water and brewed it for 3 minutes. It makes about 400ml in one steeping, but you can add more or less water or brew it for varying lengths of time. This is pretty obviously sprayed with jasmine oil rather than traditionally scented, but if you’re willing to overlook that, it’s actually a pretty tasty beverage. The tea is a nice rich amber, and it’s fairly evenly balanced with no astringency and minimal bitterness. However, the jasmine can be a bit potent if you’re not prepared for it. Pro tip: try using an aroma cup with this, to maximize your enjoyment of the fragrance. Also, try slurping it as you sip. I took away a star for the artificial jasmine scent, but immediately put it back because this really is some good tasting tea. If you like Numi’s jasmine green tea, you will probably like this as well.

The original tea from China was way more robust. This is from enland/India, not the same quality. I have to use 4 times the quantity now, disappointed.

I’ve bought this green tea twice now, and most of the time my wife drinks it. She’s really happy with it—says the flavor is just right, not too bitter. The leaves are nice and full, and it makes a great cup every time. I also like that it’s loose, so she can brew it exactly how she likes. Definitely a tea we’ll keep buying.

It is OK tea. It's not very smokey nor overly oxidized. It's much to astringent drank grandpa style for me. Short cooler steeps gongfu style have it a much more approachable. Flavor is much closer to a green tea than most gunpowder tea's I've tried grassy hay like, reminds me of quite a few Yerba mate brands I've had actually. Caffeine is quite strong. Color is a cloudy yellow / amber. It would work well as a base for drinks / iced tea and or a daily drink due to price. Probably won't buy again but it was ok overall. Cannot complain with the price.
