Bersigar Model BG 1651 - A Very Good Looking Watch!
The watch has only just arrived and I have just resized the watch by taking out a couple of links from the strap.I am glad I purchased the 40mm watch! The larger one would've been too big. My watch came with the Seiko NH35a movement not marked for the country of origin. In blue, this looks a very nice piece with a dark grey ceramic bezel. I am very happy to have this on my wrist.Bearing in mind the low price there are no real criticisms that I can make but here's a couple of points.1) There are a couple of very tiny scratches in the metal at the top of the strap, just below the bezel. I am absolutely not worried about this, the watch will have more, and worse, marks after a couple of weeks of wear!2) When resizing the strap I found that I had to mix and match the links a tad as they would not fit straight together after I removed the links. When I reassembled the strap the remaining links are slightly stiff where they now fit together. I expect this will slacken off as the strap wears and the links move.3) The edges of the strap are not at all rounded off as I would expect in a more costly watch. It isn't uncomfortable in use but noticeable when handling it in comparison to other watches in my collection. That's surely a cost thing but does not affect the appearance or functionality. The 40mm watch (BG 1651) is slightly different from the larger model the BG1639. Notably, the bezel on my watch has no lumed nub on the bezel and the numerals in the bezel are the same colour as the ceramic. The numerals are polished slightly and raised from the rest of the bezel making them more visible. I like this effect! The clasp is secure and easy to open. I have no worries about security. The metal is thick and will not deform easily with use.The second sweep hand is not as smooth as that on my Longines automatic but does not appear at all jerky. That's down to the movement used.Yes, the Bersigar does look better than its price suggests.Assuming that the watch functions as well in the future as it does now (and there's no reason to suspect otherwise) then this is a thorough recommend from this happy watch wearer! If this brief review is of assistance to you please can you click the 'helpful' button - thanks!

A decent impersonation of a Rolex Submariner 116610LV (Hulk)
I bought this a daily wearer when I'd rather not be wearing one of my expensive watches and I'm becoming more and more an admirer of the green faced Rolex Submariner. Don't get me wrong this isn't close to being the quality of a Rolex (not that you should expect that at the price) but it does ape the 116610LV quite well - at least from a couple of feet away. This only just arrived today, so I can't comment on reliability of time keeping yet, but I'm quite happy with the quality. It's not perfect but there are a few 1-star reviews for this regarding the cyclops and 12 o'clock marker being off centre but I'm happy with my watch - especially as I got this on a recent lightning deal too.I'll submit an updated review if my option changes significantly but until I can get my hands on a genuine green Submariner without the £7k price premium this will have do as place holder.

Well impressed!
Really well-made piece, would pass for a Submariner if it had a different logo. The green bezel and dial are not as garish as they look in the photos meaning this is a classy looking watch that will go with any outfit. Top quality bracelet and the ceramic bezel is just gorgeous.

Excellent
This watch is an absolute bargain, very well made with a heft and a construction that belies it price. The case is beautifully machined, the bezel rotates in well defined clicks and the ceramic bezel ring is accurately engraved. It looks superb. The lume is not the watches strongest point but is adequate but the face is very well printed, the markers are properly applied and the Mercedes style hands are properly scaled and well made. The green face is not at all blingy unlike some of the more outrageous Hulk homages and is both well defined and classy. I bought this watch for less than the price of a hair spring for the bezel of my Rolex Submariner. It is not a Rolex but it has a charm about it and I have been very impressed with the accuracy of the Miyota movement which, whilst advertised as non-hacking, can be hacked if you apply a little backward motion on the winding knob. Impressed and have just ordered the black faced version.

Bersigar 1639 'Diver' watch
I was rather wary of purchasing this timepiece but, in the event, I was pleasantly surprised! The Sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel are very good at this price range. I was worried that it might house a Miyota movement (non-hackable and non-handwinding) but, again, in the event, it was powered by a Seiko NH35A movement (hackable and self-winding). So, very, very pleased with that outcome! The strap, although not as heavy as I'd hoped for, was joined by screw-in pins. Now, there's another novelty at this price! The 1639 is, of course, a Rolex Submariner homage, but tastefully done, I feel. I went for the steel and gilt finish with a black dial, as I have not tried this combination in any of my other watches. The exhibition window on the screwed back cover is nice, even if the movement isn't the prettiest of watch works! The waterproofing is claimed to be 10 bar - certainly not scuba diving territory, but I'm sure that surface swimming, handwashing, etc, shouldn't be a problem! All-in-all, a very nice specimen of value-for-money horological engineering. Oh, yes! My model is exhibiting a loss of approximately 30 seconds after 4 days of continued wearing (apart from sleeping). I can accept that! And, there is always the ability to hack the movement. I, for one, can recommend this timepiece.
