Coleman Cable 55667133 14-Gauge 17-Foot Automotive Copper Wire, Black

I needed this black wire (and the corresponding red also reviewed) to extend the charging leads on a new two battery Minn Kota MK 210D On-Board Battery Charger (from Amazon) to replace another Minn Kota charger (that burned itself out) in my fishing boat. The 12v batteries are at opposite ends of the boat (starting rear and trolling front) and the 6' leads supplied with the charger were too short to span the gap. I butt spliced and shrink wrapped 8 ft. of wire to CES 12 Gauge 2 Pin Quick Disconnect Harness's (also from Amazon), then cut the leads on the float charger and installed another set of CES 12 Gauge 2 Pin Quick Disconnect Harness (watch the polarity!). Works great. I permanently installed the charger on the driver bulkhead, have long enough leads to reach the batteries and am able to plug it in at the pier or in winter storage. Now if I could only find the fish.....

Was just some coiled up cheaply made wire. Poor quality

This is plain copper multi-strand wire with good insulation. It is not tinned, so not suitable for some applications where corrosion could be an issue but worked for my RV application. Measured as advertised at 18 gauge, unlike some other brands which measure smaller than listed. Would recommend.

good stuff

I bought this and some black wire in the same brand to wire up some off road lights on my truck and it worked perfect. The wire is the right thickness and has a good thick covering to protect it as well. This should meet most automotive needs.

Only needed a foot or so so I have plenty of extra.Good wire, if needed again I'll purchase again.

good quality wire , used it to install some more gauges to monitor air/gas mixture , oil pressure, water temperature.
