Watercolors Intense Color Depositing Hair Dye Shampoo, Purple, 8.5 Fl Oz

I recently got my hair colored to a dark brown with a mix of deep purple and spent quite the pretty penny on it. Obviously I wanted it to last a long time without having to give up my hot showers. My stylist recommended me this shampoo and Ive been using it for a little over 6 months and couldn’t ask for better results. I wash my hair every other day with this stuff and use it only on the length of my hair, not my roots. It keeps the color so vibrant and popping, people actually started to notice the purple hair more after using this shampoo. It is a little messy and can stain if your not careful, but even the stains wash away over time. The scent isn’t bad, but it’s not fragrant either. I’d recommend using a good deep conditioner along with this stuff too because it does tend to leave my hair slightly dry. I’d expect a purple tub while using this stuff though but it with the way it works i’d say it’s worth it!

I wouldn’t have my hair professionally done (vibrant purple) without this shampoo! It can take my worn out, ready for a retouch violet back to vibrant purple. Have also had the same results with blue. Be careful it stains! Clorox gel foam works great for getting rid of them.

This is so cool! I saw a lot of reviews of people who have gray and blonde hair. But mine is gray and black so I was hoping it would work as well. It’s great! I’ve let my white grow out for 12 years so I was excited to add a little color. It’s so much fun. I washed it in 3 times to get this color.

I am waiting for my hair appointment in late July and I don't want to chemically treat it in the meantime. I combined this with some conditioner and worked it through my hair, covered it with a plastic cap and waited about 45 minutes to wash it out. It looks nice. Not as purple as you see on the picture, but it fills in the gaps. It does not cover any silver, gray, etc. I need to add, that over 2 weeks of using this, I have had a major break out on my shoulders and back, it's the only thing I've changed, I'm a very routine/regimented person, I use the same sunless products, makeups, cleansers, detergents,etc. So I have ruled them out. Since I only purchased it for temporary use, i know everything will clear up in a couple of weeks but I'll have to stop using it. If you are acne prone or have skin sensitivities, this may not be great for you.

I have been using this shampoo for over 2 years to help maintain the color between visits to my hair dresser. I love it! Since it is a Semi permanenet hair color you do need to wear gloves and rinse your shower well. I get lots of complements on my hair. Make sure to follow the directions. It really saves me money because I do not see my hair dresser as often. I do not notice a smell. You may need to use a hair conditioner or some oil afterwards to keep hair really soft.

Wow, I didn't believe one shampoo could color my hair and I was wrong! I have hair that is going heavy grey with some blonde highlights. This shampoo in one wash left on for one minute left my grey hair pastel purple and took even darker on my blonde parts. I was very surprised. For me it would be too purple to use 2 wash days in a row, but if you are looking for a way to keep your color fresh this would be a great option. I love using this stuff to maintain the color of my hair between salon visits. My hair does not hold purples and reds/pinks long so this is a must. Sometimes I will apply this to my dry hair and let it sit for 5-10 minutes and then go wash it out like normal but also using cool water to hopefully help with the absorption. Other times I will apply while in the shower and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. I have learned that I should probably use gloves because it does dye my fingers from the scrubbing of my scalp while using this shampoo. I def don't feel like it moisturizes my hair and I can't remember if they come out with a conditioner for it but I usually will just apply my reg conditioner and use cool water to wash it out. With the color I have in now I rotate the purple and pink in this brand every other wash.

I’m torn on this review. I used the purple color depositing shampoo for Halloween and it turned out a really pretty purple. My natural hair is lightened to about a level 7 with highlights at a level 9. The highlights picked up a really intense purple, while the darker areas were less intense. I tried to wash it out the next day - less than 24 hours after applying. Even after using clarifying shampoo and lots of other tricks found online, it faded but didn’t fully wash out. Five days and more than a dozen washes later, I still have some light purple and pink color in my highlights. And the darker areas have retained enough color that they have an auburn cast now. I bought this thinking it was a good option for temporary color but if you’re looking for something that washes out easily this may not be for you.

I love this product. It allows you to have fun with your hair, without having to commit to a permanent dye job. It is also great for upkeep on hair that was dyed purple. I only works on hair that has been bleached, or very very blonde.

It can be expensive to dye your hair purple and keep it that colour for an extended period of time. This product makes it so much easier. Since I dyed my hair in April I have only had to go to the salon once to touch it up. Any time it starts to fade I eash with this and it brightens it up!

I recently went from red to a dark purple. My hair stylist said if I didn’t maintain it with a purple shampoo it would fade quicker. So I tried it out and it works wonderfully. Even as my hair is starting to show my roots it hides them a bit.

The shampoo works well to maintain your colour. It's REALLY liquid-y though - so be careful when you pour some into your hand. It temporarily stains your hands but if you're quick to rinse it, it doesn't stay as long as other purple shampoos. It will stain tub/wall/shower curtain if you aren't fast enough. The bottle itself isn't great. The push-tab is really hard to open, and then at one point it broke off entirely - so I have to untwist the cap to pour.

Really does add color. Got a lot of compliments after 1 use
