Well worth the money and then some.
I play a six-string, but now and then I will have several guitar players together, and it would be nice to have the option to slide over to the bass. As it's just going to be an occasional thing, I didn't want to spend a ton on it, but I am surprised at the quality for $69. Granted, it is a fairly jarring Tennessee orange, but that doesn't bother me. The quality is very high. I have looked at the acoustic basses at GC and really see very little difference between this one and a $300-$400 acoustic bass. Sounds good without amplification or plugged into a Spark on the bass setting. I was particularly impressed by the fretwork.

Impressed with price and quality
For the price, excellent value. By no means is it profesional grade, but great instrument to play and have fun…And built solid. Will it last 15 yrs? Who knows.. but it is perfect for my daughter’s lessons and development as she learns the instrument. Im still blown away by the price.

Not bad over all
For the price point and for what you you get, it’s really not bad overall. The sound unamped is decent. It’s much louder amped. I am going to try a better set of strings to see if unamped sound is any better. The instrument looks nice, I bought the sunburst finish. Neck has a pretty good feel to it. I did tweak the truss rod to my liking, easy enough to do. The only area where it falls the most short for me is the tuning posts, they seem a bit cheap and the bass seems to have a bit of difficulty staying in tune. UPDATE: I changed the strings with a set of Ernie Ball acoustic bass strings, definitely sounds a little better. A little more tweaking of the neck! The tuning post seems to be ok after all so I am changing my original 3 star review to 4 stars, you can't beat it for the price

Not for nitpickers but a solid useful value.
I'm a professional guitarist with a home recording studio who often finds that my self-recorded songs could use some additional bottom end, especially when I record solo demos to present to my cello partner. Of course, once my partner and I agree that a piece is best played as a duo, the cello takes care of the bottom. However, I sometimes record other musicians and produce their demo tracks. Again, while I usually serve as the session guitarist / fretted instrument sideman for these recordings, I have often thought I should have a bass guitar to round out my recording arsenal and add some clear bottom to these home recordings. I've been working on a project where that was exactly the case. I was going to borrow a bass from a student when I found this guitar. I figured for less than $100 I can experiment a bit by running the bass directly through the board and get some sonic feedback as to whether a bass addition works on a recording or not without breaking the bank. Either way, I figured it MIGHT be a handy piece of recording "equipment". Boy, was I right! For this specific purpose this bass guitar fits that bill perfectly! Oh sure, the fit and finish is not perfect and it's unplugged tone is not great and is certainly not loud enough. But, recording directly through a board sounds fantastic. I am both shocked and pleased. To be clear, I am NOT a bass player and thus I would never use this thing as a piece of performance gear. And if I were a bass player, I'd probably looking for other options. But, as said, as a piece of recording gear this instrument would be hard to beat for the price. With these specific caveats, buy with confidence. UPDATE: Continuing to experiment with this bass in a "direct to recording board" way, I notice a significant hum. I put a Baggs Venue in the chain so that I could use a balanced XLR into the board and the hum remains. I think it's a grounding issue. I can greatly reduce the hum by knocking back the gain quite a bit and then restoring the volume in post. I'll keep updating as I experiment further. Final update: I'm saying good goodbye to this one. I never did find the source of the hum but suspect it's a ground shield problem. I could probably work around it but my original thought was to keep things very simple and simple means direct-to-board recording. This, I cannot do. We're it not for that reason, I would be rating the bass highly for its size and scale length, its easy-ish action, etc. Instead it's on its way to a player that doesn't have my specific requirements.

Awesome bass guitar
Strings were on it, was easy to tune, wasn’t able to plug it into an amp he but other than that seems to be a pretty solid buy! Awesome case with pockets for music and accessories. Shipping was 3 days faster than originally expected, which for the holidays it came in BEFORE Christmas when I was expecting it afterwards.

Surprised
It's better than the price tag is. So for 75 bucks it's as good as twice that.

It's a 30" short scale ... Not full size
I actually prefer short scale bass so I'm very happy but this listing is incorrect. 15" from the nut to the 12th fret makes this a 30" short scale. This makes the body a little smaller and more manageable than a lot of acoustic basses I've owned in the past. It's not going to be perfect for 80$ but it plays really well and sounds decent for what it is. No built in tuner but the eq works. It's got a truss rod on it. The strings aren't horrible honestly but I'm putting earnie balls on it soon. Very fun little pink bass. The case is better than I expected as well. I love not needing an amp all the time

Home Run
This bass is nothing short of incredible. I wasn't going to buy it because the brand name just sounds so generic . After reading reviews I found out that not only was it a nice bass but it is also a 30" neck and that's what I like. The bass doesn't have one single cosmetic flaw , did not require a setup , just tune it , stretch the strings and retune it and bam you're done. It also came with a really nice padded gig bag . The bass is most likely made out of plywood but that's great because plywood build acoustics are louder and because it's a bass , there's really no difference in tone compared to a solid wood bass . I had a Fender acoustic bass and this one actually sounds better. I have not plugged it in and tested the electriconics becyI don't plan on using it like that . This is a bass I bought for practicing and jamming without having to plug anything in. It comes with electric bass strings , probably a low gauge and again , I'm totally cool with that . This thing rocks , you can't go wrong .

I bought this from amazon after coming across this on eBay and wanting to guarantee a good shipping experience. Amazon always packs and ships well, so I ordered from here. Free shipping took less than a week to my house, and the bass arrived in perfect condition. I am very impressed with the bass as a whole! It's a little rough around the edges, and isn't something to brag about, but I got more than I expected out of it. I was looking for an acoustic bass to simply play and have fun with, and this exceeded my expectations for the price. It's not the best bass you'll ever play, but it's the best one you'll get for $125. The painting in the sound hole is a little iffy, and there was still masking tape on mine. As well, the fret markers along the top of the neck were a little dirty looking. Paint on the body has small imperfections, but nothing terrible. If you are a little picky, these are things that might bug you. However, sound wise, it sounds great to my ear. The body is smaller than all other acoustic basses I've played, but it is still pretty loud. I prefer it, it makes the instrument a little easier to handle. I had no problems with sharp frets or high action on mine. The neck feels plenty strong to hold the tension of the strings, as some other reviews have mentioned, though I do avoid the neck bends when playing The Awakening. The strings that came on mine are very nice; half the cost of the bass is probably in the strings. Over all, I am very glad I pulled the trigger on this. I am more than happy with what I got, especially considering I could easily spend this much money renting an instrument. I recommend that anybody who is looking at this to simply play and enjoy for yourself, or to use around a campfire, to simply buy it. It's so cheap, you won't regret it, and amazon will look after you if there are any problems.
