Good review book
Its ok but cant seem to find a book like the real test. Real test questions are almost alien to what you study. The content is worded to be superhard. Praxis seems to be more intent on failing people than testing what they know. After all it is a for profit testing center with a 52% failure rate that has been to court and paid 11.2 million in restitution for faiing people who actually passed!

This is THE book to get
I have been through every prep book there is for Praxis 5161, and this was by far the best. The practice tests are very comparable to the real thing. Get this one and the Cliffs book, and make sure you do all 6 practice tests. This is also the only one I'll be keeping for a general reference in my classroom.

Good for content review, fantastic for six near full-length practice tests!
I ordered this product to review for the new Praxis Mathematics 5165 test, for which there were no resources out yet. This book covers the following content areas: general number concepts, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, functions, calculus, probability/statistics and basic discrete math principles (counting, sequences, series, etc.). The content areas are thorough, whereas a few (like calculus) far exceed the level of the test questions. You should not need another study resource for content. However, the six near full-length practice tests (these contain 60 , while the 5165 test contains 66)are easily worth the price of admission alone. They cover the breadth of question types, and only a few questions seemed to be either niche topics or slightly above the difficulty of the typical questions on the test. Most reflected the types of questions I saw on the 5165 exam. The best part about the tests is that they don't just contain answer keys like most resources do, but a thorough explanation of the question (sometimes including different methods of finding the answer). Note that the 5165 test contains a new type of question--math pedagogy where you must identify how to teach an objective or why a student's response is incorrect. This book does not cover those type of questions, but does cover the content that those questions will contain. I highly recommend this book, especially for those who seem to always know the material, but have trouble recognizing what skill a question is testing.

The #1 praxis 5161 resource
Way better than any resource. I’ve bought the ETS test, the cliff notes book, and did private tutoring to no avail. This book bumped my score by 20 points. Totally worth it.

Very Comprehensive Review Book
Most of the the worked answers to the test questions explain the concepts very well. And the content within the individual chapters provides even more examples and details to the concepts to the test questions. Once in awhile, I would need to watch an online video to help me better understand a concept because the info in the book wasn't completely clear or slightly vague, but most of the time, the book was very easy to follow and understand.

An excellent resource
I passed the praxis 5161 (score 169) using this book and the cliff notes book. The explanations are helpful and the practice tests were great. I loved the total of six practice tests, more than in any other book. There’s a lot of white space in the book so don’t be too intimidated by the length.

Ok to buy
This book lack practice ample as it explains the material. I wish it had at least several problems to practice to make sure I grasped the concepts before I did the exam. A bit daunting to follow with just theory!

Helped to pass on first attempt
I like the practice tests and paired nicely with the Cliff Notes option.
