I was pretty excited to receive this since it was a direct plug and play install. I also bought a VW flip up camera and installed that too when I first plugged this stereo into a 2013 GTI. When I received the purchased unit, it definitely didn't look new. I noted on another similar post a review that mentioned something similar. So, I thought if it worked then I wouldn't care if it was previously installed. It was truly a plug and play install. The first time it failed, I was listening to a pod cast with the air car play in use. It quickly came back and started working as expected after turning the car off and back on. The next problem I had was the backup camera image stopped working. I did some troubleshooting and found that the image from the camera was still working but for some reason the image would no longer display on the touchscreen. And then finally today while using apple car play, the unit just shows a blank screen, no audio, and nothing has returned to normal. I would give this a five star review if it was still working, but would give this a zero star if I could because of all the problems I have had with it.

Great replacement for base stereo in my 14 Tiguan. Straight swap for the factory, plug and play! Apple car plays is life. Way our phone integration should be. Remember if you already have blue tooth after you install this radio you should unplug the BT module under the passenger seat! That way it does not compete with the radio for BT signal.
