La Vida Boheme is a dance rock band which formed on the fierce streets of Caracas, Venezuela . A devoted following quickly formed as thousands of fans were coming out to shows to sing along to songs that weren't released or even recorded properly. Soon radio stations were calling the band demanding a single from a record that had not been finished. An underground swell of support was developing with the band's fanbase calling itself "La Resistance" - quite apropos in the age of Hugo Chavez. La Vida Boheme leads a new movement of Venezuelan youth who despite government regulations and rampant violence, want music and arts in their lives. La Vida Boheme's debut album, 'Nuestra,' owes as much to influences like LCD Soundsystem and The Clash as it does to Mercedes Sosa and Mano Negra. The band is set to support 'Nuestra' with extensive touring across the U.S. in 2011 .

I love this band!
I read a review about La Vida Boheme and decided to check this album. I have to say that it was a great surprise that rock in Venezuela is this great and they are part of the new rock movement from mid 2000. This album has lots of energy and great music but I have to say that lyrics are a bit underdeveloped.

surprise
I stumbled over this album by chance, looking for new music. This is quite different from anything else I usually listen too. Very energetic and entertaining. Catchy sound, full of life. I love this because it's great music, but not mainstream. Five bucks - it's really worth the money - I would pay more...

It's a very good introduction to the "Indie Rock" genre
It's a very good introduction to the "Indie Rock" genre. Besides that, this CD is almost impossible to find here at Venezuela, although the group is from here

La Vida Boheme`s Debut Album
"Nuestra" is the debut album by the Caracas, Venezuela-based indie rock band La Vida Boheme, who have gained some recognition both at home and abroad, to the extent that they were nominated for the Latin Grammy Award in the Alternative rock category. The album provides a wonderful mix of rock, pop, electronica and Latin grooves complemented with mind-blowing lyrics. Tracks worth listening are: Radio Capital (incidentally, a reference to a local radio station in Caracas, whose heyday were in between the late 1960`s and the mid 1990`s. If you were born or grew up in the 1960`s Venezuela, you know exactly what I am talking about), Cigarro, Buen Salvaje (a reference to Hugo Chavez` regime), Flamingo, El Zar, Danz!, Calle Barcelona, Huxley, I.P.O.S.T.E.L. (a reference to the Venezuelan postal service), El Sentimiento Ha Muerto, Nicaragua (a reference to the Central American country that has been very close to the Venezuelan Government since the Hugo Chavez days), and the closing track Nuestra. So, if you are looking for some great Rock en Español Made in Venezuela, get this stuff along with Será.

Alternative Rock Elettronico
