Did I mention it was PAINLESS?
So far an excellent choice! The kit came with everything needed to test your blood glucose levels. It even came with a handy travel kit for people on the go. The directions were very good and easy to follow. Truthfully, I don't like to get my finger pricked at the doctor's office (it can hurt a little in a weird way). If you are a little squeamish no need to be reluctant to use this injector and lancet. To my surprise it was PAINLESS! I initially stuck myself four times before I got the best depth level set (recommend a 5 for men's rough hands) and located the best finger draw point to get a big enough blood droplet to sample. I do not have an opinion as to accuracy or battery life since I have just began testing with it. For my first test kit it is very cost effective, easy to use, and painless. As they say "even a caveman can do it."

Accurate and affordable
Fyi, I was just diagnosed with diabetes. I've only used the glucose meter from CareTouch before this meter, and I just tested once with this meter. On the market, this meter and CareTouch are the cheapest choices at the time I bought this meter. So if you are considering to buy this or that, I hope my review helps. The reading seems to be pretty accurate when I use the control solution and compare my blood with CareTouch meter (same blood from one spot, same time). Comparing with CareTouch, this meter was about 7 points lower than Caretouch. By the way, I am returning Caretouch meter because it seems to read same blood sample with 50 points difference (one lancing, about 10 seconds difference). So I am not sure if this meter is working right for now since I compared this meter with CareTouch. I would surely test again when I have a lab test, and update this review. One thing I can tell you is that you will be surprised how good the quality of lancet tips are. With Caretouch, I set the lancet at 5.5 and use on palm. It hurts to draw blood and I had to squeeze to get enough blood. With CareSens, I set it at 4. There was no pain but enough blood. I think 3.5 would be good for me. The carrying pouch from CareTouch is better, personally. But this one has more room and bands to hold everything the meter comes with. Better and easier guide than CareTouch. The meter doesn't have a button to release the test strip, though. Some people would complain, but it doesn't matter because I always wash my hands. I hope this meter works for good time!

Pretty good
I think this is a decent kit. I am not giving it 5 stars, because the readings are inconsistent. There are times a reading is way off base so I will do it again because I know there is no way that reading is right, and the next one is more in the range I thought it might be. That leads to trust issues. The price is great and with Medicare issues in billing; I have ditched that monitor and started paying for my own.

Easy to use, fast and reliable for daily monitoring
I purchased the CareSens N glucose monitor kit to better track my blood sugar levels, and it has been a great choice. It’s very user-friendly, even for beginners. I like that the kit comes with everything you need to get started right away. The results are fast (within seconds), and the display is clear and easy to read, making daily use very convenient. It’s also compact and easy to carry, which is perfect for both home use and on-the-go monitoring. Overall, it has given me confidence in managing my health consistently. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a simple, affordable, and reliable glucose monitor.

Inaccurate results comparing time stamped blood draws vs. my finger-stick for gestational diabetes
I want to start by saying I NEVER write reviews but I feel I need to for this device!!! I purchased this machine to help me monitor my glucose during pregnancy. I just wanted to state- 1- I’m not a diabetic prior to pregnancy 2- I passed out from low blood sugar so I wanted to start monitoring myself closely 3- then I failed my 1 hr screening for glucose test the same week I passed out so I was then directed to do the 3 hr diagnostic glucose test.. oooh the joys of pregnancy! Anyway- I brought my BGM device with me to the office to test its accuracy. Basically, every time I had to get a blood draw (4 times exactly) I would do a finger stick on myself as well. Therefore I’d be able to compare the labs blood results to the BGM results to measure the accuracy. Results from fingersrick BGM machine: fast 83 (<95) normal 1 hr 216 (< 180) high 2 hr 168 (< 155) high 3 hr 140 (<140) border Results from lab: fast 75 (<95) normal 1 hr 168 (< 180) normal 2 hr 155(< 155)high by a point 3 hr 121 (<140) normal Clearly the machine was not accurate and each reading was HIGHER than the blood results. Safe to say I issued a refund assuming they wouldn’t want the machine back but they accepted it based on me RETURNING the used BGM machine. Which to me is a serious health code violation to accept a product back that was used to measure someone’s blood samples. Very very disgusting honestly.
