Amazon Basics Self-Locking Tape Measure, Metric Scale, MID Accuracy, 5 m (1-Pack), Black, Yellow

I mean the quality's good, no complaints there, but I'm not entirely sure this thing is accurate. I was trying to measure something,....a "thing", let's say, and I swear this "thing" is like a good 8 inches, at least that's what I've been telling people, but when I came to actually measure it, it said the "thing" was like 3 inches....?! I mean, whoa, come on! 3 inches, like, that can't be right. I was sure it was at least 6. At. Least! Maybe it was cold that day? Might try again with the heating on. Or maybe I'll try a more expensive tape measure coz that can't be right. Can it?

It’s oddly satisfying watching that smooth tape glide out and lock perfectly in place like it’s proud of itself. The self-locking feature is genius — no more wrestling to hold it still while it snaps back and smacks my fingers. The grip feels solid, the numbers are easy to read, and it’s got just the right amount of “click” when retracting. Honestly, it makes me feel like a pro DIY-er, even if all I’ve done is hang one slightly crooked picture frame. Bottom line: five stars, absolutely faultless. For the price, this thing punches way above its weight. If it ever disappears, I’ll assume someone borrowed it permanently. Amazon do it again.

Ho acquistato questo metro di Amazon Basics perché ho da poco preso casa e, armato di buona volontà, mi sono lanciato in una serie di lavoretti. Cercavo uno strumento affidabile, preciso e che non mi costasse una fortuna. Devo dire che questo prodotto ha superato di gran lunga le mie aspettative. ​Prime Impressioni: Solido e Ben Fatto ​Appena tolto dalla confezione, la prima sensazione è di robustezza. Il corpo gommato offre un'impugnatura (grip) eccellente, non scivola neanche con le mani un po' sudate o impolverate. Si sente che non è un giocattolo, ma uno strumento pensato per durare e per resistere a qualche caduta accidentale, che in cantiere (o nel caos di una casa da sistemare) è quasi una certezza. ​Il Nastro: Il Vero Protagonista ​Qui arriviamo al cuore del prodotto. ​Lunghezza e Rigidità: 10 metri sono la lunghezza perfetta per quasi ogni lavoro domestico, dalla misurazione di una stanza intera per scegliere il divano nuovo, al taglio di pannelli in legno. Ma la vera sorpresa è la rigidità del nastro: riesco a estenderlo per quasi 2.5 metri in orizzontale prima che si pieghi. Questo è FONDAMENTALE quando si lavora da soli, perché permette di prendere misure a distanza senza che il nastro "collassi" a metà. ​Leggibilità e Precisione: La scala metrica decimale è stampata in modo chiaro e netto, i numeri sono grandi e si leggono benissimo. La certificazione MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) non è un dettaglio da poco: garantisce una precisione certificata a livello europeo, quindi so che le misure che prendo sono affidabili al millimetro. ​La Funzione Autobloccante: Una Svolta! ​Se come me ti trovi spesso a lavorare da solo, questa funzione ti cambierà la vita. Appena estrai il nastro, questo rimane bloccato nella posizione desiderata. Niente più dita che scivolano dal pulsante di blocco, niente più nastro che scatta indietro all'improvviso. Misuri, il nastro sta fermo, segni il tuo punto con la matita e solo dopo, premendo il grande pulsante giallo, lo fai riavvolgere. Semplice, sicuro ed efficientissimo. Offre caratteristiche da prodotto di gamma superiore (rigidità, precisione MID, sistema autobloccante) a un prezzo incredibilmente competitivo. Per i miei lavori in casa nuova, dal controsoffitto alla progettazione della libreria, è diventato un compagno di lavoro inseparabile. ​Consigliatissimo, 5 stelle meritate senza il minimo dubbio.

I feel stupid saying that, but it's true! I find myself measuring things quite frequently and over many years I have just grown accustomed to using a tape measure with a healthy dose of fear that it's going to snap back in my face with no warning. This thing is a revelation though. Not only does it work as described (ie it will only retract the tape when you push the button - no lock required) but it works perfectly! I love being able to pull out a long length of tape without fighting with the spring and the lock, and it's also great for short measurements too as it's just works so smoothly. When it is time to retract the tape the action is controlled and gentle so even in that case it feels very safe and nice to use. It's a small thing but wow, what an improvement!

I bought this for general use, and also to give one to a friend because I broke theirs. I can attest that this product is high quality, you could drop it, throw it; and it’ll still work just fine. Whether it be for work or home use, these tape measures will do you justice.

Se déroule péniblement, qualité très moyennes, arrêt approximatif. à recommencer je n'achèterais pas...reste le prix attractif pour un usage très occasionnel.
