I bought 1 set for my daughter and 1 for myself...have not had the opportunity to use them yet, but I did test them by putting the batteries in them. They seem to work great...they are very bright on all 3 settings and I really like the magnetic base that makes it so easy to fasten them. I am going to keep them inside my car instead of the trunk, so that If I should ever need them I won't have to get out of my car in case it's dark or dangerous to do ...and unless I'm going on a road trip, which I do quite often, I will keep the batteries with extras in a plastic bag to prolong the life of the flares and batteries. They came very well packaged and I like the little plastic case to keep them from getting lost under the seat. As I mentioned prior to this, my items were shipped in record time for no charge...I ordered them on the 10th of March and received them on the 13th of March which allowed me to take them with me on the 16th to give to my daughter who lives in another state. I'm planning a coast to coast trip shortly and I feel more confident knowing I have these to rely on if a situation would occur. Thank you for the great service. :)

These do the job they are supposed to, they are well made and reasonably bright. Not strobe bright but definitely visible at night. The magnet is good, strong enough to hold them horizontally onto a vehicle and the base works well. It might make more sense for the vertical white light to flash (it is constant when used) even in an SOS pattern, if the attention of aircraft is actually needed. But it could double as an emergency flashlight as is. Decent product, not that cheap but not junk. They come in a sturdy compact case which is very good for vehicle use.

A waste of money doesn't last 10 minutes before going out

These seem fairly sturdy and they are much brighter than I expected. However, thet are much shorter than I expected. I guess they won't blow over in the wind. They are probably perfect if you live in the city. I live in a rural area with hills so I was hoping for something that could be seen from far away.

Very nice, compact kit! Checked them out and they work great - nice and bright. I didn't see it in the description, but they do have settings for solid on and flashing. Room in the case for extra batteries. I actually took The battery cassette out of one of them and loaded it with batteries, then placed it loose in the case so it would be easier to set up if needed and still wouldn't require the batteries to be stored in the actual flare.

Just received them. Giving it 2 Stars because only one is working. The spring at the top of the battery pack is bent and cannot make contact with the button that turns on the light. Other one works well. Very bright and I like the feature that you can select between a red light strobe effect, solid red light or use it as a flashlight with a white light from the top which is also very bright. Good design, but wished the other one worked. Suggest ordering two sets.
