There's more to these than meets the eye!
Some months ago a friend gave me a packet of Effie's Oatcakes. I thanked her, put them in the cupboard, and then forgot about them. Why? Well, first of all, there wasn't a sign of any chocolate (I adore chocolate, but it's the faintest of blips on my friend's radar). And they're ... beige ... taupe ... whatever you want to call it. And the name. "Oatcakes". *yawn*But then came the day that many of us experience now and then. Wanted something crunchy. A cookie-ish, cracker-ish kind of thing. I poked around in the cupboards and they were giving me Mother Hubbard until -- VOILA! -- my eye fell on that packet of Effie's Oatcakes. "Any port in a storm," I sighed, and fell to.Imagine my surprise! My joy! My delight! These things are GREAT! Crunchy ... but not too crunchy. Buttery ... but not too buttery. Sweet ... but not too sweet. And [BONUS] not that high in caloriesI finished that first packet and ordered more from this seller on Amazon. Heigh-ho, I'm the happy one; they arrived quickly.Let the addiction begin.

Really tasty crisp and not too sweet
I wish they didn't cost so much but they make a nice occasional treat. Good with coffee and fruit for breakfast. Easy to eat too many.

Perfection in a biscuit
Biscuits, for those who aren't aware, is the British term for cookie, and Effie's qualifies as cookies, biscuits, oat cakes, crackers, and just about everything. I crushed them up and made a crust for a cheese cake that was fabulous. I eat them as as a snack, all the time. I am addicted to Effie's oat cakes, there I've admitted it. No, seriously, these are the best I have ever tasted, and they come in so many flavors, like coco, walnut with fennel and cranberry, Almond with Cardamom, Pecan and wildflower honey, Corn, Rye, and plain Oatcakes. I am not fond of Rye, although I know one person who is, and corn, is good with cream cheese and chives, My all time favorites are Walnut with Fennel and Cranberries, Almond with Cardamom and plain oatcakes. Yes, they are pricey, and yes, you must be careful how many you eat in a week, or in my case, a day, but I find nothing satisfies a desire for a snack better than an Effie's Oat Cake. Try them, they are good.
