The Tee Shirt Upgrade
Legend has it that this style sleeve was designed for Lord Raglan so he could more easily use a sword. The fellow lost his right arm in an earlier conflict. I find the story a bit farfetched but do accept that for whatever reasons, that commander of British forces during the Crimean War did wear a jacket of this style. The style makes for easier arm movement which apparently led it to be used often as an undershirt for baseball players starting early on. Put the shirt on, add one of those 19th Century pillbox hats and you’re ready for a comfortable easy to assemble Halloween costume. Just add pants. The shirt is remarkably comfortable. Whatever the cloth, I wish all my shirts felt as soft as this does. As a very nice and unusual touch, the sleeve and bottom hems as well as the stitch which attaches the collar and sleeves are done an interesting decorative box-like stitch. The whole shirt from base cloth to the varied stitching oozes quality and implies it’ll last for a very very long time.Yes, this is a tee shirt but it’s also more in the sense of being the perfect example of a tee shirt maker’s art. After a day's wearing, it's by far my favorite and I have many tee shirts.

Very Soft and Comfortable...
My 15 yo son is 5'11" and about 150 pounds; so he's tall and still slender. Normally he wears a large but I've gotten in the habit of buying a size up, because I've been purchasing from overseas manufacturers. My bad: this shirt runs true to size. After washing and drying this tee it fit my son comfortably loose. The sleeves are appropriately long for an XL, and the shirt is indeed, slim cut. My husband wears a manly-cut XL and this shirt would be too slim for him.THINGS I NOTED================--Shirt is very soft and made out of a light weight, but no see-thru, fabric.--Well sewn.--Looks good... except for the Penguin emblem on the chest. It puckers oddly. Probably because it shrank more (or less) than the surrounding fabric. This detracts from the appearance.I usually really like Penguin shirts. This one would get high marks from me if it wasn't for the strange, puckering, emblem.

Price justified
I was intrigued when offered to try a $70 baseball shirt. This fabric is soft and feels great. The cut is tight/slim fit (Usually XL is not tight on me), the length is perfect (I'm 6' and it covers my groin), the seams are masterfully made and not abrasive. The colors are lively. Everything still fine after the first wash.In my view this look makes sense for casual dining/bbq at friends, Leisure travelling, things like that. I would say it is young but not juvenile. My wife was impressed.

This shirt is sooo soft!
I had never heard of the Penguin brand before, though I was certainly already familiar with this style of shirt. I am very impressed with the quality of the fabric and its construction. It's thin and super soft but at the same time warm. The large is my husband's normal size and it fits his build perfectly, thought it has a slim fit through the torso, which makes it not so perfect for guys with a bit of a belly to wear on its own, but it's perfect for layering under other shirts in the winter, and the extra room in the shoulders means it isn't too tight when working. Time will tell how it holds up after repeated wearings and washings and if it's worthy of it's high-dollar price tag.

Fabulous Shirt
This shirt will never go out of style, it is High quality, not too long and not too short, fits great, excellent material with a good price. And most importantly it looks good when wearingThis is usually the shirt my husband grabs, it fits him great, and looks great as well. The fabric has held up extremely well after many washings. I would definitely purchase more of these in different colors.

Comfortable, Quality Fabric and a Classic Fit
Although I think Penguin brand apparel is slightly overpriced, it always delivers in quality. I've bought my husband a few shirts in this brand and they've lasted for years and wash and dry well with hardly any signs of wear. This shirt is no exception. The fabric feels luxe and substantial, although I wouldn't call it thick. It fits really well, true to size. Husband has it in his regular shirt rotation with no prompting from me, so I'd definitely consider it a win. Although the price stings a bit with Penguin, I do feel you get what you pay for.
