Some tips and thoughts
Do you know that you need to season a wood cutting board? Yep... Sure do. Be aware of that before you buy one and then complain that it cracked. Not trying to be mean, but that's the truth of it. You do not need to buy their products to season it, but you do need to let it "soak" in mineral oil. The wood should never ever appear to be dry. It takes several applications where the oil remains on it over night and soaks in. Once you have it seasoned, you need to reapply after scrubbing with soap or after a month of sitting. Or anytime the board starts to look dry. This is an edge grain maple wood board. It is fairly decent for knife edge retention. End grain is better. Tpu is better still. But for a budget board that looks nice, this will function well for those who take care of it. The board is a nice weight. I can easily maneuver it around the table and I mostly use it for vegetable prep work as the thought of raw meat on wood makes my skin crawl. Cleaning is a breeze after it has been seasoned. The wood itself will become water repellant and so a quick rinse and dry will be all it needs. Mild soap occasionally or as needed if cutting tomatoes or other such food types. Easy to use and easy to care for. Beautiful to look at. And the price is good. It is one of my favorite boards. I put a great deal of thought into my purchases regarding what my knives will come into contact with. This board still has a place in my kitchen, and I'm likely more discerning than you. I would buy it again.

High-Quality
Solid and beautiful. Boos boards are an investment but they are workhorse pieces of kitchen equipment that last a long time.

Versatile size Boos Block for everything!
I have several John Boos blocks including two of these! Needed another and it arrived quickly via UPS!! Packaged well and was delightfully surprised that it was in great condition. Solid and one of the best blocks to have for multi use from cutting veggies to meats to 12โ pizzas and used as serving for charcuterie. However I never cut raw meat on the same block as I use for serving or cutting veggies. I have one specific block for raw meats and fish. This block and sized block is so versatile!! Keep it clean and moisturized! I use salt and a mix of water, hydrogen peroxide, and splash of vinegar. Scrub well , rinse well, dry well then moisturize with John Boos moisturizer . Let dry for 24 hrs prior to next use. Love love love these blocks! Great price for the size too!!

Lovely workmanship
This round wooden cutting board was purchased for presenting cheeses in small gatherings. The board is weighty, and aesthetically beautiful, but small enough for an intimate gathering of 4 people. The cutting surface is perfectly smooth and doesn't harm the cheese knives. Yes, it is pricey, however the quality of the board is recognizable at first glance. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Solidly Built Product - Would buy again!
This is our second Boos cutting board. They are so solidly built and donโt get discolored by the food like our other plastic boards. Theyโre heavy but clean up beautifully. We also use the board wax to maintain its appearance. Highly recommend!

Beautiful, great size, but started cracking less than 1 year later
I gifted my dad this piece a year ago. He maintains it super well and oils it after use. Unfortunately, it is starting to crack. I know this brand is great, but I am disappointed that this item is already cracking since it wasn't super cheap.

Great medium size John Boos Block!
I bought this great 2 sided Boos Block with juice groove from seller Spreetail! I came in one week,Safely Packed For Shipping! This Boos block is excellent! You want to have the mineral oil ready to use as soon as you open the sealed plastic on the Boos Block. When a Boos Block is new it is important to oil it a lot. I oiled it and waited till it dries for about two days then I oil it again and wait another two days to dry. I repeat doing this for two weeks. Then I used Boos board cream wax once . Let dry overnight. I would say that it's more important to use mineral oil but if you can get the cream wax it is better to use both. Once in use you should oil your boos block twice a month to prevent the glue from drying out which can cause an edge grain block to start to split. I weighed this medium Boos Block at 6.5 pounds. I really like this Boos Block and I highly recommend! Pic 1. Block right out of plastic wrap. Pic 2. First oiled applied. Pic 3. Oiled for two weeks and used cream wax. Pic 4. and 5. After the two weeks, shows it can be balanced because of excellent craftsmanship! Thanks for listening

Poor refund policy & product quality
This board has high reputation with Low quality . This is my first time buying this and I had scoured the net for review before making a choice but a wrong choice indeed. I had bough the small and big wooden boards. Within 1day of usage both boards showed signs of splitting. Now the smaller board has completely split. I had contacted Amazon for refund but their refund policy is only once they receive the boards. Problem is they do not have a call centre or customer service support that calls me in advance to inform me that they are coming. They did send their personnel once without informing about 3 weeks back but I had to send him away because no one was at home. That was the last Amazon send their guys over to collect back the item. The defective boards are still with me. Very poor service from Amazon and poor product quality from John boos

check the size
Check the size the delivered item was several inches smaller than specified. and so returned for refund the product would have been ok if it had been the correct size

Looks fantastic but has failed, along with their support
Only arrived today and I've just applied some Boos wax sealer so I'm looking forward to using it tomorrow. I can say though, that it looks beautifully made and deserves to be well maintained (as it will be). Any problems I'll be back to tell the world but I'm confident it'll last a very long time, especially if cared for. Ok, so I'm back and it's not good news. Unfortunately the block is now splitting after such a short time. I've spent ยฃ30 on Mystery Oil and Cream, using both regularly. The board is splitting and although I've contacted BoosBlocks I've had no reply. Such a shame as I'd been so happy with it and spent extra money to keep it conditioned.
