Good power; scary chain
I had two very large trees cut down and I knew my 50cc 18" saw would not be adequate. I started to look at the big name brands, but stumbled upon this saw sold by Amazon. The ratings looked good so I decided to roll the dice. It arrived well packaged. I made a quick review of the manual and began assembly - which was easy. The decals were already starting to fall off out of the box so I became skeptical. I loaded it with the specified fuel and bar oils and pulled the starter cord 5 times and it started. It ran a bit rough at first but go better. My first cut was a 26" diameter sugar maple, which I cut using only about 1/3 throttle for break in. It became quickly evident that the saw has a lot of power because even at 1/3 throttle it was making good progress on this large tree trunk section. What really concerned me was how the chain bucked and wanted to kick back. The saw was throwing a huge chip so I wondered if the rakers were not filed right from the factory. I proceeded to make at least 12 more cuts in very large diameter maple and oak and the bucking continued too - as did the feeling that the saw wanted to kick back. I might buy an Oregon chain to see if the bucking will go away. Overall - I like the saw. It is very powerful, lightweight, and it starts easy. I am trying to get used to the fact that the maker specifies 10w-30 or 30w oil for the bar. Seems too light to me. Oh - I also followed instructions and made the starting fuel mix at 20:1. After that gas is gone I will switch to 25:1 and Amsoil. Does it matter that the decals are falling off? No. Is the scary chain an issue? Yes, but I might try a better quality chain. Does the saw have enough power to cut the big trunks I am dealing with now (26" to 36")? Yes!Update - one day the saw would not start. No matter what I tried. Frustrated I just put it down for a day. 2 days later I picked it to try starting it and it fired right up. Strange. Since then it does not always start easy. Some times it takes about 15 pulls to get it running. The first chain went dull after about 20 cuts so I installed the 2nd chain. This chain also bucks and seems to have a tendency to kick back. In searching this type of chain out for replacement I found that it is a chain intended for loggers where aggressive cutting is desired. I might buy a new bar and a less aggressive chain - perhaps 0.325" pitch, 0.050 guage, and 78 DT. I know I have to keep the pitch the same so the chain will fit the drive sprocket. One thing for sure - this saw has a lot of power. I am cutting logs that are about 34" in diameter and with the aggressive chain I can cut through in about 3 minutes.

A good product but with inherent manufacturing defects
I have prior to that Poulen 16” Gas powered Chain saw! I ordered this Chain as it was listed as 62CC engine which in terms implies it can easily be extended to run upto 24” saw chain (since my own is only 16”) if you opt to mount separately sourced bar and chain. It arrived on the promised day promptly and I could assemble it effortlessly. Very easy to assemble though instruction booklet is useless and needs ton of improvement(most Chinese products literature is in adequately useful). The product started quickly when cranked which was a pleasant surprise. Stroke of the engine was good and tuned. I liked this equipment received but my satisfaction was too soon. I used it to cut one Branch of the fallen tree around 10” of dis. It cut it very easily and I was very impressed . But after I finished I noticed my chain dropped off! So had to stop my further usage. However I noticed that a crack was developed at the two bolts fixing the sprocket cover and chain also had come off! So I tried to fix the chain by adjusting the chain tension bolt available in the front portion of the sprocket and chain side cover. To my dismay, it was not happening. So I realigned the bolt so that it can go into provides hole for bar movement and found that there is complete misalignment between the hole position and position of rocking bolt moving in the slot and therefore chain was not properly sitting into the groove and was dangerously loose. Also I found that bar chain oil was excessively leaking too. That time I decided to return to Amazon and wrote them . I immediately received a regret communication from Company(I guess) and asked for the photos of the defects developed. I posted three photos of defects clearly visible of big crack and loose chain sitting on Bar to supplier and Amazon approved my return immediately.Shockingly I was communicated by Amazon that to get my refund I have to incur the return postage expense to send the defective material supplied back to some address at California. This is not fair policy at all! Why can’t it be born by manufacturer? I Returned it because of dangerous defect developed in the product and not because I did not like product. In fact I can give benefit of doubt to this same supplier as such such defects could be on off in production and ready to receive a verified good product again from same supplier. As all Chinese suppliers are not bad as I have lived in China for three years as head of my sourcing organisation from 2005-2008 before moving back to Europe.I have returned the product in original box as demanded and it has reached the address and delivered on Jan 29 ,2020 already. I have not received any communication from supplier and Amazon so far on further course of action and credit. My request to credit 58.4$ spent on return with proof send from USPS has yet to be responded as I sincerely feel I retuned the good because it developed defect in first week of purchase of this product and it is entirely a manufacturing defect so a complete refund credit is warranted .I shall post separately on receiving a communication If any from Amazon and supplier on my submission.

My First Gas Powered ChainSaw
I have an electric powered chain saw but wanted more power without spending a lot of money. The Coocheer 62cc chainsaw was the ticket. I read the instructions carefully, bought some Stens syn-blend 2 stroke oil and Warren MAG1 chain oil, filled up the reservoirs and gave it a little choke and pulled the rope starter. It tool a few pulls for the fuel to get drawn in and it roared to life. The adjustment on the chain is critical but tools are provided. It cuts through 4" branches with ease. This was one of the cheapest chain saws on Amazon but I am not disappointed.
