I bought a 5 string bass to add chords above the 12th fret to a traditional bottom. The bass came with a set of strings low B- high C. I used this set of strings, put aside low B, and had it string low E (105 gauge) to high B (32 gauge). A440 store, Great Bend KS put the strings on, dressed the frets, and voice instrument. Playing into the store Gallen Krueger bass amp the typical bass notes had great bottom. Everything else including the chords above the 12th fret had rich but clear voice. A440 had never done this before, but I think did a great job. The bench tech called it a "high 5" set. I like that better than calling it a bass "tenor" tuning. I can hardly wait to put it into my full range powered speakers.

This is the first set of D'Addario bass string I've put on my mass in decades. I tried a set early in my career and they were so bad I said I would never buy another set of D'Addarios. However, I have been looking for a different set of string, and after much research, I narrowed it down to two sets of strings, and this was one of them. I just put them on my Zon Legacy Elite 6 and was very pleased. They are extremely consistent in tone quality from the lowest B to the highest c, and the overtones ring clear. They are capable of numerous colors from over the fingerboard (big warm round colors with much fundamental) in various locations until you reach the bridge (with tight punchy midrange sounds), and work equally well playing with your thumb, fingers and a pick. They are also extremely responsive for slap, tap and hammer ons/offs. The scratchy surface noise from the fingers moving around on the round-round strings is much less than many others. I did not review longevity because I just took put them on today and took for them for an extensive test drive. Right out of the box they are among my favorite sets of 6-string bass strings.

The extra strings give a huge tonal range. Perfect for gospel, jazz, and studio recording. Very deep and clean low end. Money worth. It feel very strong.

I've used these for years, and they are consistent in quality and sound good. They're also available everywhere, so if your bass is set up for them, and you need to buy some locally you'll be able to put them on without adjustment.

Good strings, never had an an issue

Switched to these after stainless steel strings nearly took the skin off my fingers - honestly, felt like I was wrestling barbed wire - these nickel D'Addarios though way smoother - still got the punch and brightness but without the bloodshed - sound great, feel great and I can actually play longer than 20 mins without looking like I’ve done a shift in a cheese grater.

Daddario is a known brand so no doubt quality is good. D'Addario EXL170-6 6-String Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings is very great sounding.

Per me un buon prodotto, sound corretto, metallico il giusto. Non sono propriamente regalate ma vanno bene.
