I bought this on sale for $1.99 so I got my money's worth! I don't read a lot of books in this genre, but the book description sounded good.I will say that it kept me turning pages and had to force myself to put my kindle down last night and go to bed. But I picked this up instead of my morning newspaper with breakfast! And finished it by early afternoon.I found it thrilling, suspenseful, fast moving and with just enough sexual tension to please my more romantic side. Young Tyler was adorable and just alert enough to the clues of events going on around him to make him a realistic four year old. (I taught kindergarten so am familiar with this age group.) His mother's (Samantha aka Sam) attempts to give him as close to a normal childhood as possible, seeing as how she (and so many mothers in our society) was abandoned by the father as soon as he learned of her pregnancy won points. Her bravery in the repossession of cars in her BIG RED tow truck late at night was stretching it a bit due to the danger involved but our author armed her with a gun and knife and had her on track to gain an EMS certificate and put that job behind her.Then she opens the ajar trunk of the BMW she has just hooked up, is knocked out and thrown into the trunk with the badly beaten and shot man she briefly spied there before joining him. From then on their fates are entangled. He is undercover and cannot tell her that so she is desperately resisting the sexual chemistry between them as she thinks his fate is a long prison term. Besides which, he is no role model for her son, despite the fact that her son is instantly seeing him as a knight in shining armor.We don't know who the traitorous bad guys are until the very end. There seems to be a mole or how else would the Zetas find him in Witness Protection but in Witness Protection Danny aka Rick Marco must stay to draw the Zetas away from the true informer and all the information being pumped from him by authorities.Sam does have several friends/acquaintances who help her out and give her advice. Unfortunately one pays for this in the most horrendous manner. Danny/(Trey to Tyler) has a family so he does know what little boys like and this provides some comic relief.I enjoyed this and recommend it.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews. Those stated that the book started out strong but then toward the end of the story-things just got sort of "Oh come on". The beginning really held me by wondering what would happen next. Most of the "just got out in time" scenes I thought were fine. That airplane crash survival section was just too much! Lucky survival incidents do occur, of course, but after all the other ones-geesh give me a break! There were other reviews that stated that a street smart young woman would not be so gullible. I did not agree with those as this main female character had a poor education and no good role model parent(s). She was still very young and with a child to support. This left her with very little time to make more mature friends or to get a better education. I have met people like this fictional one. It has been a very long time since I have bought this type of book. Over-all I did enjoy reading this one and felt it was worth the Kindle purchase price.

Story was too unbelievable even for romantic adventure.

A great read with action from the onset. It was a fast paced story and I loved the chemistry between the two main characters. I would have liked to have read a little epilogue but that's just my personal preference for books like this.

This is the first book I've read by karen robards and what was promising to be a great book just did not deliver . I don't know what I did not like about the book which potentially had a great story line however I found it really difficult to finish and grew rather bored early on .

Good book to read

Excellent reading. I read way into the night and then was disappointed when I came to the end and there was no more to read. I was addicted to the book from cover to cover and savoured every page. The story line was well thought out I like Karen Robards style of writing. I got quickly attached to the characters and thought about them long after I finished. I like the combination of murder and love interest.

Very disappointing, to compare it to a 'sexed up' Mills & Boon would be an insult to Mills & Boon! Mindless drivel!

First class read, like most of her books the in depth detail makes it a very enjoyable plot right to the end

really enjoy reading karen robards books as the get you hooked with in a couple of pages and i would recommend her books to all of my firends and family

I really enjoyed reading this book. I will look for more books from this author. Well written. Hard to put down.

Good thriller. As usual, Karen Robards' book is full or suspense and turnaround. It keeps you on tenderhooks till the last page.
