Schwarzkopf Simply Color 4.0 Intense Espresso Permanent Hair Dye, Cream

This came out a little darker than expected, but I still like the color. I’ve gotten many comments on how shiny and pretty my hair is since using this color. I have to use 2 boxes for my thick hair that hits below my shoulders, but it’s worth it. I’ve used this brand several times and my hair always comes out looking good.

I've used this color a bunch of times. It's easy to use and doesn't smell too chemically. My scalp does not burn when I put it on. It doesn't cause excessive hard use. Doesn't fade fast. instructions are easy to follow.

The color is great! Didn’t cover the grays near my temples as well as I hoped, but still a good product overall! It blended with my black hair nicely and covered my other grays!

I really like this hair dye and was disappointed when my local drugstore stopped carrying it. I use it every 4–6 weeks when my gray hairs start coming in, so I like to keep an extra box on hand. It covers my gray hair really well and doesn’t dry my hair out like other dyes I’ve tried. Instead, it actually leaves my hair feeling silky and smooth. The price is a little steep, but I think it’s worth it for the results. This is my go-to whenever it’s time to color my hair.

As someone who has tried every ppd free and vegan line known to man at this point ...I cannot recommend this product enough....when I use ppd my glands swell,my face blows up,I get scabs and swelling along with a terribly itchy scalp which makes me have to take allergy meds ....I was so skeptical about this product bc like I said I've tried all the "ppd free" out there ...and nothing was ever dark to take to my hair ...well this is incredible ...absolutely no itching ,swelling, burning...literally NOTHING ...and bonus the color cane out gorgeous and dark and COVERED MY GRAYS :) please take it from someone who is so TERRIFIED OF HAIRDYE ...u will not regret it

Wonderful! My favorite! BUT unfortunately it burned my scalp and I had to wash it out. This happened a few years ago, but I love the color and delivery was fast. No bad smell. It’s a nice product and doesn’t dye your skin like other products. I will buy again in the future, but I’m sad I had to throw away two boxes. So sad, but I know it’s my scalp because it’s dry in the winter :(

I love this product, but apparently I can’t get my colors anymore. I don’t know what’s going on. I need a 5n and then for some reason the price went from $13 way up to $20

I am allergic to almost all hair dies due to PPD, But this has no allergy at all. Though the color is not that much dark, still highly recommended to allergic people.

I developed a skin allergy to hair colour after I kept another brand hair colour on my head longer than the instructions said (got busy with some work and never thought it Will Oxidise and will cause an allergic reaction). Started looking for a hair colour with no PPD specifically as there are not a lot of hair colour options with no PPD. I used this colour yesterday all over my head and kept it for 30 minutes as per the instructions and no reaction, no itchy scalp, no swollen nodes behind my ears, nothing. Just beautiful smooth coloured hair. The only complaint is it’s so expensive in Canada. Amazon USA sells it for 11.99 USD but Amazon Canada is selling it for $38 CAD. I wish it was the same price after the conversion into CAD.

I have a severe hair dye allergy and this is the first time I have coloured my hair in 8 years!!! I was very excited. It also covered grey very well!!

This is an honest review as I am allergic to most hair dyes and after extensive research I tried this one, and hence I want people to benefit from it. The product doesnt contain any PPD but it still has a derivate of PPD , which is usually lighter . So after a patch test, I used this color and thankfully I didn't get any itching, rashes or reactions. But it washes out pretty quickly, may be after 2-3 washes . I am glad I have found atleast sth to cover my greys.
