Crucial 4GB Single DDR2 667MHz (PC2-5300) CL5 SODIMM 200-Pin Notebook Memory

I recently discovered that 2007 iMacs can effectively use 6GB of RAM even thought the specifications state that they max out at 4GB. I swapped this in for one of my 2GB sticks and now have 6GB of RAM working perfectly. The computer is running quicker and had no problems updating to OS X Mavericks (which I've heard may be a strain with only 4GB of RAM). I considered another manufacturer, but I've had a number of Crucial products over the last 8-10 years and never once had any problem whatsoever. Paying just a little more for this and knowing it would work perfectly was worth it for my peace of mind.

Crucial is by far not the least expensive choice when it comes to purchasing Mac Memory but every memory stick I have ever bought from them has been recognized by my Macs going back to 2005. I had bought a 4 GB stick from Komputerbay because the 2 2 GB sticks I had bought worked well in my 2008 Black Macbook Model 4,1 and Crucial's 4GB was some $25 more expensive. But, I wanted to max out the Ram for this model (6GB) and the Crucial stick was instantly recognized by my Macbook and performance has increased so dramatically I almost have a new laptop. In the future I will stick with Crucial and pay a little extra knowing the product will work in any Mac I order for. Buying the memory through Amazon was a little cheaper than buying directly from Crucial (something I don't pretend to understand) so I'll be making future Crucial purchases only through Amazon

After much research, I figured that I can upgrade the RAM in my old Macbook to 6 GB (4+2 GB). This is different from Apple's claim (that you can only have 4 MB). Anyway, I ordered this memory and installed it in less than 5 minutes. I had to put it in facing downwards (so the Crucial sticker in towards the MBP's shell instead of facing upwards towards the battery cover). My MBP still takes a while in booting up, but the apps open much faster. I think I will upgrade the aging hard drive next and hopefully that will speed it up further. Not a bad $100 investment to get some more performance out of my trusty old MBP.

Bought this to increase my girlfriend's Macbook (early 2008). She was told by the Apple "genius" at the store that her model could support up to 6GB of RAM, so I bought her this single stick of 4GB, thinking that I could pair it with 1 of the existing sticks of 1GB that came with the laptop. However, while the Macbook booted up with 1 stick of 4GB and 1 stick of 1GB, it only recognized the 1GB. I pulled out the stick of 1GB and the Macbook was able to recognize the 4GB - leading me to believe that either A.) the Macbook doesn't recognize beyond 4GB of RAM or B.) the Macbook didn't like the 4GB + 1GB combination. Either way, the RAM worked and was recognized just fine by the early 2008 Macbook and she says that her laptop's been running much faster.

When I when from Snow Leopard to Snow Lion on my aging iMac (just to read larger hard drives), I noticed the system seemed to lag a little bit. While Apple officially maintains that this model can only support 4 GB of RAM, I'd been told that with Snow Lion or a newer OS, it could read up to 6. So I gamble $85 and bought this 4 GB module and swapped out one of the existing 2 GB modules and the system does seem to run a bit faster! And the new OS sees the additional RAM.

Replaced one of two 2 giga byte SODIMM in 2008 Mac book pro. Increased memory from 4 giga byte to 6 giga byte. I would have purchased 2 SODIMMS but the 2008 Mac book pro can support up to 6 giga byte.

Bought it, installed it but could not see or measure an improved performance.

I bought the Crucial 4GB Single DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) CL5 SODIMM Memory to breathe more life into my MacBook 3,1 from 2007, which had only 2GB. I have to say more memory is always a win-win when you are getting old, whether you are a computer or a person. The spinning beach balls are a thing of the past. Apple makes it easy to add RAM to your laptop. I just went to Apple support to read what to do, and I was good to go. I added the Crucial memory to the stick that was already there, with the old stick in the 1 slot and the new stick in the 0 slot. My MacBook recognized 6GB immediately and that was it. I have had no problems. I chose the Crucial brand because I believe it to be one of the highest rated, if not the highest rated brands for memory. I have had flash drives and RAM before from Crucial with no issues so I was confident I would have no problems with this RAM. Amazon had the best price and I have bought other computer parts and peripherals from Amazon and have never had to make a return.

I was looking for this memory module for some time. It was rare to get this due to out of production. After ordering this, the item was shipped from New York and reached well ahead of promised delivery date. Packaging was very good, which I could reuse to keep my old 1GB module.

Bought this item for my 2009 MacBook, what a difference it has made, originally the MacBook had the max of 4gig of ram so I replaced one of the 2 gig sticks with the 4 gig stick purchased to give me 6 gigs of ram, now Mountain Lion runs a dream and the laptop is now a lot faster. I highly recommend!

Como siempre las memorias crucial como se suele decir, buenas , bonitas y no muy caras, perfectas para los mac.

Loved the extra memory product as it has helped spped up my an aging 2007 aluminium apple imac noticably :)
