I have bought these bags several times. Sometimes I can find them at a local store, but most often they are difficult to find. I use them to repackage purchased meat products for the freezer, since air exposure is what turns the meat gray and lets ice crystals form (freezer burn). My meats have lasted longer and been better quality than meats which were not repackaged.

I use thes a lot and clean and reuse them - have for years. Bags will generally remain usable for over 1 or 2 years or longer. As with all zipper vacuum bags - they don't hold vacuum 'forever' and sealing properly with a totally clean double-slot zipper is important. I've tried several brands but this mfgr brand is the best for use with all sealers. 1). To insure longer term seal quality I double bag. That is seal one bag zipper and watch of a minute to see if the bag relaxes at all wfter removing the sealer. I've done this with probably 1000 seal and it works really well. For long lasting seals you can trust - I seal it in one bag (quart or gallon) then put that bag sealed into a second bag and seal that one completely. I've never seen a double seal bag ever lose vacuum even after a year- one sealed bag inside a second sealed bag! 2). Clean and reuse. after use I rinse wirh hot water swishing it inside. The refill 1/2 full - with a shot of dawn Dishwaher liquid (anti-bacterial of course). Shake to well all areas of inside and I stand that bag behind the faucet (or other conveniennt place) for a few hours. Then remove it and shake it some more and empty it (very sudsy inside) Rinse old water as many times as needed to get all suds rinsed out. Finally fill it 3/4 full Cold water pinch the seal end and remove this water so clean the seal itself. Sniff the inside -it should smell like the Dawn. I lay the bag popped open - seal side down to drain (maybe an hour or so; flip the back and stand with zipper on top - popped open and let air dry (set it behind the faucet or??) view for water drops inside after air drying (faster in winter (lo humidity). Flatten and put away. That Dawb aroma will always stay and an easy way to sniff and insure a cleaned bag. Great product. reuse for years potentially.
