I love this thing I got it for my mom for her Birthday because we're big space buffs. The telescope itself is really well the focus adjuster works well the mirror is good the eye pieces are okay but with a better eyepiece you can get really good views. Unfortunately as other reviews have said the equatorial amount is not sturdy enough and it slips so if you need to do actual tracking with this it's not going to work well. That being said the telescope is really beautiful and it definitely can help people fall in love with astronomy.

Im not a professional but i can say that i went from a basic tripod mount scope like this to this much more expensive accurate one and i can say it is amazing. I can even see jupiter!

Packaged well and a quality telescope. It was suprising to get something this well made in this price range. You could tell english wasn't the choice of language in the manual. But it could be followed - a little confusing because some assembly instructions were out of sequence. But it's easy enough to figure out if you're technically minded at all. I originally purchased one that was slightly less, and the poor quality showed as the focus adjustment teeth came with sections missing. This one is really well made; but you still have to treat it gentle because the internals on this type is thrown out easily if you turn the wrong screw and it takes special equipment to properly realign. I got it together and was able to view the moon craters easily. I was just checking quickly because it is to cold to set up properly now. I need to study a little on properly setting it up and knowing which way to look. It is very well made but it's also heavy to cart around. Even considering the weight it might be well worth the hassle of moving it to a better viewing area once you become familiar with the correct way of aiming it and stabilizing the mount. People seem to forget that at the distance you're looking that the slightest bump will put the object out of you view. It kind of worries me I might be gettng into an expensive pastime; but it's a good starter telescope. It did take a little bit to figure out the phone attachment, it isn't really explained that I could find - but it isn't difficult and I'm sure there are videos.

Shipping was great - a huge box, but it's a sizable device. We got it put together, though it was almost a pure guess because the instructions were teeny pictures with words that even an eagle eye could barely read. And even then... it's all still pretty much a guess because the pics are so small it's hard to be sure you are doing what you actually are supposed to. There is literally NO instructions on once it's put together, what to do... I would prefer to skip pages 2-end which discuss what you might see, and give detailed instructions on getting the sucker setup properly and able to find something. Who gives a rip about the possibilities of what you CAN see if you can't actually see anything once it's together. If you go a little further with instructions then you get more raving fans vs utterly frustrated droves of people doing more googling than using. I have decided I need to buy a collimator as the best path to getting the telescope set up properly. I have no idea if that is the best course of action, but some other reviewers indicated that is what they also did.... so buying another item to try to fix the lack of good instructions... hope it's not good money after bad... Will update once I get the collimator.

Got my daughter who graduated highschool. Dhe uses it every nigh to go star gazing.

The instructions that came with this telescope was very jumbled. They had absolutely no instructions on how to use the cell phone adapter. I was able to figure out how to use the cell phone adapter. Basically one part slips into the lens before installing it into the telescope. then it screws together to hold the cell phone to the lens. The instructions appear to apply to several telescopes, make sure you install all the weights on the weight bar that you have on before attaching it to the arm on the telescope. This will allow the telescope to be properly balanced. once you get the telescope setup, it works very well. I did a few tests on street signs to align the finder scope and what is seen. Was very impressed at the quality of the image. definitely recommend, however if you can, have a brainiac on site to help you set this one up... (i welcome any questions) thanks... Stan....

As a beginner, it is as easy to set up and if it wasn’t for having a friend that works for the planetarium, this would be hard. But once you’re shown how too, it’s AMAZING!!!!

I bought this for kids christmas present. I do not know why Amazon would sell such a shotty product from a company that won't honor their warranty. I used the gysker eq 130 one time. It arived fine but upon setting it up there was a rattling inside. I open the tube and saw a small mirror inside the barrel. It came from somewhere inside the unit. I've reached out to Amazon and they contact gysker for me to say I need warranty support. That was 2 months ago. Have not heard back from them. There is no place to contact gskyer on Amazon. I went to gskyers website and asked if they could please contact me as the unit is broken and I want to discuss warranty. That was a month ago. I have heard nothing from them. It's completely disrepectful to charge someone 350 dollars for junk you say you have a year warranty for but only if the company will honor it. Amazon should compleltey remove this defunct company from their website. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GSKYER. WORST COMPANY ON AMAZON. MY KIDS CANT EVEN LOOK AT THE STARS THROUGH THEIR CHRISTMAS PRESENT AND I HAVE A 350 DOLLARS PAPER WEIGHT SITTING IN MY LIVING ROOM. BUY A CELESTRON OR SOME REAL COMPANYS PRODUCT NOT THIS FLY BY NIGHT CRAP.

Excellent choice for beginners! I took these photos with 10mm eyepiece using my low medium budget phone. Its a bit heavy though. Tough to move.
