Secure Lock at a Great Price
I have used these locks on 5 projects so far and have never had an issue installing them. It comes with a great adhesive template, and detailed instructions. It can be setup for 'Fail Safe' [open without power] or Fail Secure [locked without power]. As all door jams are different, I have had to on occasion do more extensive work on the inside of the strike area to allow this lock to fit into the jam correctly. Device worked perfectly and I feel very secure in it's operation.

Professional quality, great product
The item arrived as expected and as described in the picture. The default for the electric strike is fail secure (locked). With a minor adjustment it can be changed to unlocked. Not sure why you would want that but it has that ability. I used this for a commercial steel door.Would buy this again.

A couple of small issues.
The solenoid that actuates the unlocking mechanism is not that powerful. It will not release a door if your lock pushes against the strike in any way at all. This door strike is best suited for doors that have two handles on them. A passage handle that does not lock, but is used to hold the door closed, and a locking handle that you use with this door strike (the locking handle door bolt installed so it does not push against the strike in any way). This was not my setup. In order to open the door, I unlock the door strike, then I have to slightly push the door to allow the strike to open, before pulling the door open. Not a big deal, but it means I have to tell everyone to "push the door before pulling it open".The supplied wires are very short, about 6 inches long. This made installation cumbersome when feeding those wires through the door casing.

As advertised... precisely
They aren't kidding when they say this is for metal doors. It's deeper than the one designed for wood door frames, so you'll end up cutting into the door post to install it if you install it in a conventional wood door/frame.Other than that and the dainty, excessively fine wires (that don't really look like they are up to the 2 amps this is supposed to draw), i've got no complaints. It works as advertised.BTW do yourself a favor and get an oscillating multitool if you need to cut a new door to install this. It's a fantastic tool for the job.
