These placemats look elegant and tasteful, yet are easy to clean and don't show dirt in the navy color I purchased. The size is impressive and they were priced quite well, allowing me to purchase more than I need for everyday use, while having extras on hand for when I have guests. In the picture below, the placemat on top hasn't been washed and the one below has been washed. The one that was washed shrunk just a tiny bit and softened, while the one that hasn't been washed is still stiff and holds its shape. I can usually just wipe off any dirt that gets on these placemats, so washing isn't really necessary. The one in the picture that I did wash in the machine had food spilled all over it, and I didn't think I had a choice but to toss it in the washer. In retrospect, it probably would have been fine to just rinse it well under tap water, possibly mixed with some soap, because food messes really don't cling to these mats at all. I'm still extremely pleased with them after two years.

Because these were folded in half, I first thought they were very small, but when I pulled them from the package, I found they are a really good size and very pretty. I almost didn't want to put them on the table for everyday use, but that is what I bought them for, so I did. I've only had them 2 days, so I don't know how they will hold up, but according to the reviews I read prior to purchasing them, they should remain beautiful.

These were a bit stiff and had a crease line when they first arrived, but a hot iron took care of that. I decided to machine wash them after I couldn’t just spot treat them anymore, and they held up great in the washer! All food stains come out each time. The only thing is, after I first washed them, I did not feel that they had as much water resistance anymore. Before I first washed them, the moisture just used to bead up on the top of them and not go through. Now I feel that the table is more susceptible to water spots and heat on the underside when there is a bigger spill or a lot of condensation. However, for my kids’ daily crumbs and a few dribbles of milk, they work just fine. Overall, I really like these and will be happy to use them for a long time. They did not appear to shrink in the wash; rather, they got softer and less wrinkly. They lose the stiffness if you machine wash them. I suspect there’s some kind of Scotchgard-type spray on them that disappears when washed. Or maybe there’s an inner layer that repelled the water better at first? But these are keepers nonetheless. UPDATE: I have had these for a few years now. Wash them weekly. Still the same shade (no fading), still holding together!

Was looking for everyday placemats that are easy to wash and won't show stains. I ordered the navy and am very happy with them. Washed in cold water, no bleeding, no wrinkles. A few had a fold from shipping that you may want to iron out didn't bother me. They are not super thick but are reversible and held up pretty good to sweaty ice drinks.

Great place mats. Definitely would buy again. Trying to think of different colors I may need just so that I can buy them again. My six-year-old spilled milk on the placemat and it just bubbled up on top. As for the crease in the center, one wash and a good iron with steam and the crease was gone I have never noticed it since.

OMG! What quality and color! Only thing disappointing is after a wash, they are flimsy and doesn’t hold its stiffness. Just put plastic covers on them so you never have to clean them. Only way to keep the integrity.

These mats are very pretty. I bought the navy mats and they are good for casual or a formal setting. They are reversible so you can flip the mats over for a quick refresh. I haven’t washed them yet, just wiped them clean.
