Neuhaus Belgian Chocolate - Classic Assortment Ballotin - Dark, Milk & White Chocolate Pralines - 34 pcs

I have lived in Belgium for many years, and a few minutes from my house is a Neuhaus shop, this is a place of beauty - marble counters, brass fittings, beautiful lighting, many, many, varieties of Handmade Belgian candy boxes. But best of all, is the massive display of pralines, or " Bon-Bonnetjes", in Flemish. Thes shelfs of marble are groaning, with a supply and variety of chocolates that must be seen to be believed.There is always a lovely Belgian lady standing with a box of your choosing, and a special device , or a gloved hand, depending upon which Praline they will be serving. The aroma, a rich, creamy lingering and rich chocolate aphrodisia lingers in the very walls of the shop, enticing you further and further, until no resistance is to be found.In Belgium, where I buy these, they are luscious, filled with liquors of various types., crème fraîche ( From Normandy, of course.), fruit essences, refined to their maximum, superb and and most delicate of essences, and much , much more.. This is not to mention the various choolate types ranging from a quite pure level, down to the, Milk chocolates which magically seem to dissolve before entering your mouth.The pralines hand-decorated tops are lovely, ,as well as luscious, each Bon-Bon is a work of art, hand-decorated, and lovely, the most remarkable thing about this chocolate is its freshness, and the uncanny way in which one takes a small bite, and is immediaately filled with the fine aromas of cream, butter, lingering chocolate aroma, nuts, fruit essence, various flavored creams, along with what ever else is to be found in the Bon - Bon of your choice.But I must return again and again to the flavor of the chocolate - rich, creamy, chocolates, perfectly-balanced not too overwhelming. it is a magical nugget, one eats these in small bites, and then, they suddenly disappear. Only the intended aftertaste and feel of a truly great lifestyle is left in ones month, as a happy reminder to try another, or a sad reminder that the lovely box is empty.One must run, not walk to a Neuhaus store, if ever in Belgium,many of the flavors can not be sold here due to FDA regulations. But this lovely, rich , pure, and aroma-rich chocolate is simply the best. I have never had anything but a superb tasting,In Belgium, each box is wrapped Ina lovely paper, of rich golf, silvers, platinums, accentuated any vivid reds, and subdued crimsons.then, there are lovely golden and platinum papers inside of each box, to hold them in place, and prevent damage. This export box is lovely, although one will rip into the box without admiring the lovely wrappings.However, the export variety, while superb, and miles over Godiva and Leonidas, is definitely lacking in some of the richness of flavor available in the freshly made pralines available in Belgium, and threre are definitely far fewer flavors. Still, if you can afford it, try some, you will have no regrets.,

This is the best chocolate I have ever eaten. By all means worth the price.

Neuhaus never fails to be delicious. I like to order directly from them, but had a chocolate craving that couldn't wait for shipping.

If you love praline, this is the way. You'll say "Godiva is trash." You'll taste the difference between waxy simulations of chocolate and true Belgian chocolate, made with the tradition and respect the art deserves. Pricey for chocolate, but cheap at twice the price for the experience.

Never tasted. Was a gift

I don't have to say too much about Nuehaus chocolates. They are in a superior class all by themselves. We first found out about Neuhaus because we travel internationally alot. They are sold in the duty free shop. Makes a wonderful gift or put them on the table at home. Bravo Neuhaus!!

Showed up a melted mess and I can’t get a refund, this was supposed to be a special birthday treat and is now a $70 glob of chocolate

I had bought the same box at an auction. My husband loved it so much I wanted to order as a special treat. When the box was opened, the chocolates had all been melted then apparently cooled down as they were pancaked in their trays. It was delivered on a day when temperatures were not more than mid 70s and stored in similar or cooler conditions. Very disappointed. Expensive and cannot be returned.
