Pokémon TCG - Sword and Shield - Elite Trainer Box (one at Random)

The product was as described, a birthday present for my son who will be thrilled with the item.but a big shout out to the Amazon driver who delivered the item in these trying times Cov-19, when everything is shutting down, its the person on the front line that keeps things running, not your millionaires or billionaires.In the grand scheme of things this item was not essential, but as a Birthday present for my son it was very important.Not a real review of the product as such, more a shout out to the persons working on the front line, that let us hang on to some sense of normality.well done them.

Okay, so, I bought this Elite Trainer Box on the back of watching my good friend @HitmonTONE‘s review on his YouTube channel and I thought “that’s a bit of me”. Honestly, a 32 year old should not be as excited as I was to receive it but alas, I was super excited and eagerly awaited the Amazon delivery driver the following day.It arrived while I was working and Zamazenta kept staring at me with its puppy dog eyes, but I resisted. I finished work and locked myself away in the kitchen opened the box. I immediately put the players guide to one side and took the rest of the items out. The dice, counters and energy cards were all individually wrapped, they were also moved the side and the booster packs brought forward. I won’t lie I was a little deflated once I had opened the packs, I did pull two rare holo cards, two rare reverse holo cards, four rare cards and four reverse holo commons. So twelve cards out of the eighty in the pack were notable and only two or three with any resale value (if you were that way inclined). The rest were either commons, uncommons, trainers and the TCGO code (one per pack).My issue with the commons and uncommons is that there were too many duplicates, I pulled about four of the same card. Of course this is nobody’s fault and I’m well aware that it is down to luck but I couldn’t help but feel disappointed about it.The trainer cards and energy cards are necessary for deck building which of course, is what the booster packs are for. Personally I like that they give you a TCGO code with every pack as I play that myself and for those of you who play it too you’ll know these are the only cards that aren’t trade locked!So if you are a player of the TCG then I firmly believe this is the box for you, the four stars are definitely aimed at deck builders and TCG trainers. The star I have left out is the collector and the ‘dex filler in me who would love to see more variety in the packs.All in all, I would definitely recommend this product. I firmly believe it is a great gift for any Pokemon fan, child or adult.

Not sealed in the original foil, the one with pokeball on it. It was just a simple foil and I'm thinking that the package was opened before. Cards looking legit but idk tbh :) so many good fakes out there. Anyway not buying again :)

I love this I got a good amount of shinys I even got Zamazenta V card as well.. I’d buy again if I could be sure I got the shield box this time. It’s good value for money the 8 packets are worth quite a lot on there own. I was SO happy with it but it loses a start coz the storage box is small and there was no playing board included.

Unfortunately the look of these sword and shield elite trainer boxes are a bit tacky. Preferred the look and feel of the sun/moon sets boxes.

The item arrived NOT sealed with slight damage to the corners.

Very disappointed with the pulls. Only 2 v cards out of 8 packs and an awful lot of duplicates! (5 ponyta, 5 zigzagzoon and 5 wooly) overall a little meh! At least the box it came in was nice.
