Can it be used on induction top?

NO NO NO NO, this product is NOT INDUCTION COOKWARE! and if you return it, after you discover it does NOT work IN YOUR INDUCTION KITCHEN, they will take 30% off the price you paid for your refund. Not knowing, or listening to the other users who say "sure it works", when clearly they do not have induction work tops (they NEVER say they have the cook tops and have tried it themselves!) is no excuse for returning it for a full refund. I purchased from this site, and this product, found it did not work on any of my induction "burners", and received a whopping $22 refund back. It is a beautiful pan though!

For those who said the food always stick to the pan. Which other stainless skillet did you end up buying?

To BC & VP: The only stainless skillet I recently bought was the Cuisinart 722-36H Chef's Classic.. The whole trick to preventing food from sticking is not to have the pan too hot. Also - have a bottle of Bar Keepers Friend on hand for thorough cleaning. Really works. The pan will look like new. Good luck.

Is stainless steel the safest material to cook in? What if the bottom is scratched with a knife?

I love my stainless steel pan. With the flat bottom of the pan your food cooks evenly and it has been the best one I've owned. Yes, they can have some scratches but that hasn't made any difference in the cooking of foods.

what's the difference between a "skillet" and a "fry pan"?

A skillet is a pan with slanted sides. A fry pan is another name for a skillet. A sauce pan has straight sides.
