6 STARS How to set these up. Never loses Bluetooth connection. Powerful quality sound. No problem with sprinklers 3X a Week
Maybe the best item I've ever purchased on Amazon for the money. I rarely give five stars. The speakers maintain the Bluetooth connection with Alexa from 30 feet away through a double pane glass window. The sound is absolutely awesome. It is equivalent to my 200 W Logitech speaker system except that the base does not pound quite as hard as the Logitech. It is important to spread the speakers no more than 20 feet apart. The speakers will then create a cone of stereo sound with the apex about 50 feet away from the speakers. I have the speakers in my 50X100 backyard which is next to a busy street And when the speakers are on level 10 you cannot hear any street noise at all unless a Harley goes by. These speakers get hit by my sprinklers three times a week and I have not had any problem at all. I have the speakers set on the ground at HIGH POINTS that are elevated approximately 2 inches from the surrounding groundSo they will not be subject to any ponding water. I have the power supply inside of a waterproof electrical connection box which cost seven dollars. There are many different kinds of these available on Amazon and they are made specifically for this purpose. I also have my 120 V outdoor lightS electrical connections inside the same box. I have been researching outdoor speakers for a long time because of the road noise in my backyard. The first one I bought for more than $200 is the acoustic research Hatteras outdoor Bluetooth speaker which cost more money than these two rock speakers. The HatterasTurns off automatically when it does not receive Music overBluetooth for more than three minutes. That is extremely annoying and there is no way to turn it off! I talked to several people at acoustic research technical support. The Hatterasis only one speaker so it cannot produce stereo sound,And the quality of sound is nowhere close to these two rock speaker's. The Hatteras does not even compare to these two speakers even though it cost more money and it has great reviews on Amazon and other websites.

Great purchase.
I was looking for 3 things for my front porch: Outdoor, wired to a plug (not needing to charge a battery), and bluetooth capable. I don't want to have to plug my phone into some cord every time I want to play a song. I don't want to worry about charging a portable speaker. I wanted the speakers to just always be on and ready to connect on my front porch. Five important things that I didn't get from the other reviews: 1. These were way bigger than I expected. The 5.25" is the size of the inside speaker but the actual size of each case is much bigger. I was ok with this; just surprised when I opened the box. 2. Many reviews say the speaker wire between them is 10'. The power wire connecting the 1st speaker to the outlet is maybe 10' and the wire connecting speaker 2 to speaker 1 is more like 20'. All wires are black. I wrapped them in white electrical tape to blend with my house trim better. 3. Mine didn't have instructions on how to mount but it was basically self-explanatory. It was also missing 4 screws that would mount it to the house. So I'm not sure if this was a mistake but it was a pretty easy thing to resolve. I used some screws from the garage and they worked just fine. I used Everbuilt size #10x2". I'm sure yours will have the mounting screws...but who knows. 4. When I first plugged these in to test the sound was inside and they sounded just so-so. My wife suggested I try them outside since they're outdoor speakers. So I did and they sounded amazing! I don't know what kind of voodoo magic it was but these sounded fantastic once outside so be sure to take yours outside to hear them. 5. Bluetooth connecting is really easy. I did go to my garage out back and lost connection. When I returned the music was off and I had to reconnect but that was easy to do. This is the whole point of why I got them. I want to be able to pull my phone out at any given moment and just connect. Always on, always ready, no wires. Just connect and play. For a little over $100 this was a solid purchase. The sound is great, installation was super easy (assuming you can drill/screw into something), and connectivity is easy.

Using iPhone App EQ as a Crutch
UPDATE 03/16/2026: Got tired of the lack of bass response these speakers suffer from. So based on another reviewer's suggestion, I added a sub-woofer to the system. Specifically, I added a "Rockville, Rock Shaker 10" found here on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZD238Y2?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1 The difference is AMAZING!!! the OSD 6.5's have always had decent high's and mid range. Now with the Rockville Sub-woofer, I can adjust in as much bass as I want, and let the OSDs handle the mids and highs. This was done for an additional cost of $145. A screaming deal for a subwoofer that really delivers and does an excellent job of filling in the low range which had been basically empty. Connection was simple. As the Rockville is a powered subwoofer, that can be used in a mono configuration, . . . and supports both Line-level and speaker level inputs, I just doubled up the speaker connection on the OSD main speaker. So now one speaker wire pair goes to the passive OSD (as it should), and the other speaker pair connects to the right speaker-level input of the Rockville. Surprisingly there was no detectable degradation of signal to the passive OSD. The rest is setting the subwoofer to the acoustics of your area and personal taste. IMPORTANT NOTE: This Rockville Subwoofer IS NOT WATER PROOF. So if your OSD Patio speakers are on your patio, you might have to seek another option. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Not sure how much more I can add that hasn't been said already, but I can confirm . . . right out of the box these speakers could be a little louder, and definitely need enhanced bass. I was pretty disappointed at first, but then discovered that my Spotify app has a built in EQ which allows me to fine tune the music to my liking. I found the bass lacking so I bumped that up. I found the mid-range sounding hollow like it was coming out of a plastic tube, so I set that down a smidge. I found the highs a little dull (not as crisp as I like) so I bumped that up a bit. They now sound reasonably decent, but they still lose a star because they have to lean on the app EQ to get them this way (i.e., depending on the EQ as a crutch). I can also confirm what others have said. They sound much better once you get them outdoors. I hooked them up in my house just to try everything out before installation and frankly . . . was disappointed. However, I remembered the review stating they were better sounding outdoors, so I proceeded installation with high hopes. In summary, if you're looking for that "gut punching" bass, these aren't gonna get you there. With the EQ bass set pretty high, it's acceptable, but still just pretty good. Overall I'm happy with them, and will keep them, but if I had to do it again - knowing what I know now - I'd probably find something else.

Great sound by in my experience not capable of being out in the elements.
Bought these to use out by the pool and the sound was amazing! I was so happy. Rich sound and enough volume to fill the pool area nicely. Bluetooth connected reliably but it seemed like even the slightest obstruction led to the sound cutting out. The connection where the power cord interfaces with the main speaker was loose from the very beginning and if you bumped the wire the power would go out and come back on. I owned my pair for three weeks and then it rained. One of the two speakers actually partially filled with water and the other, the main speaker with the power connection, just stopped working. And with that one gone the other might as well just be a container for water. So maybe i got a bad pair, maybe i should have known better and protected them from water but they are advertised as outdoor speakers and because the connection method (feeding the wires into slots and tightening screws down on the wire) is tedious it is not a short task to move them in and out of the pool house. Amazon was great about the return with absolutely no hassle but the speakers did just happen to fail right before the "last" day to return them so I, in a strange way, got lucky. Thanks Amazon for being cool about it.

Great Sound, Simple to install and easy to use!
I was hesitant to purchase again from OSD because I have an older pair of speakers (non-bluetooth) which lasted about 5 years and I had some trouble with the non-weather proof power supply. That said, the speakers did not fail but rather were inadvertently damaged by gardening implements (weed whacker). First and foremost the speakers sound great! The installation was easy and their have definitely been some design improvements from older versions (WRT8000). For example the new models have a power cord extension (about 12") and a weather insulated connector. I placed this in a socket protector to ensure it's protected from the elements and gardening tools. As with older versions the 12VDC power supply is NOT weather rated and needs to be placed in a weather tight enclosure. This is something I'd hope they address with future models as it seems counter intuitive to have an otherwise great weather proof product without a weather tight power supply. The remainder of the hookup was simple. They provide about 30' of speaker cable which can be easily buried, run through conduit, or just placed on the ground along the fence line. A small knob Philips head screwdriver is all that is needed to loosen the terminal posts to insert the wire leads. The polarity is marked albeit you may have to hold it an angle to see it. The bluetooth connectivity is as easy as it gets and I was able to easily connect the following devices: iPhone6, MacBookPro, Kindle Fire Table and a few others. The bluetooth ID is "BT Speaker" which is a bit generic. I would prefer it to be called "OSD Rock Speaker" or something other than just BT Speaker, but this is nit-picking. From unpacking, wiring, to listening to music was less than 20 minutes. Sounds great! Would definitely recommend!

Very Disappointed… In Myself
When I first ordered the OSD Audio 5.25” Wireless Bluetooth Outdoor Patio Speakers (BTP525), I figured they’d be “good enough” for casual backyard listening. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d end up loving them — and how quickly I’d regret not going bigger. The first time I hooked them up, I was blown away. The Bluetooth signal stretched across my entire yard — easily 100 feet — without a single drop or crackle. The sound was crisp, full, and surprisingly powerful for a 5.25” speaker. I actually wandered around just to see if the music would cut out. It never did. Pro tip for iPhone users: make sure you go into Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Headphone Safety → Reduce Loud Sounds and turn that off. I didn’t realize my iPhone was holding back the volume until I switched it off. Once I did, the speakers really opened up. Setup was effortless. The included cables are long enough to give you plenty of flexibility, and the spring-loaded wire connectors feel sturdy and secure. Just press, insert, and you’re set. The power plug has a protective cover too, which gives me confidence they’ll handle the outdoors year after year. So why am I disappointed? Simple: I should have bought the OSD Audio 6.5” BTP650 instead. Don’t get me wrong — the BTP525s are fantastic. But I love them so much that I can’t help wishing I had gone with the larger 6.5” version for that extra depth and punch. If you’re deciding between the two sizes, take my advice: go with the BTP650. You’ll thank yourself every time you hit play.

Decent sound, not great overall
The good: The sound is surprisingly good at moderate levels. Decent bass and pretty detailed reproduction for a rock speaker. Volume available seems to be plenty for my pretty big front yard. The included power supply did not match the photos and seems to be upgraded from the junky ones people have complained about in the past. the misses: 1) Bluetooth range is abysmal at best. We are talking a few feet. I have a very small porch both speakers are on. Step off the porch and it starts breaking up. My porch is maybe 6 feet wide by 4 foot deep. So I have to leave my phone on a chair on the porch. I have plenty of bluetooth speakers with far greater signal range. 2) The speaker wires HAVE to be terminated in waterproof direct burial wire nuts. Instead of having connections on the bottom or back, they have 3 feet or so of wire hanging out the bottom that's glued in place. CHEAP design for sure. For $300 that's embarrassingly bad design. 3) the included speaker wire in the box (not whats attached to the units) doesn't appear to be direct burial rated. The direct burial wire nuts are designed for use with solid wire, not stranded speaker wire. that was fun to get to work. 4) As you turn up to the higher volumes on your phone the amp turns down the bass. Yes you lose low end to gain volume. 5) ALWAYS ON! this should be the final nail in the coffin to the power version of these speakers. As long as its plugged in its on. There is no way to power it off. No switches, no bluetooth standby controls. nothing. You will need to have a smart outlet to turn them on and off. The verdict: I think OSD makes a great speaker, so next time I would buy the non-amplified ones for my applications. The bluetooth range is a joke, and I would not trust these wire nuts won't fail eventually. I also replaced the included speaker wire with a better quality one I had. This set limits your options for placement as the amp is on the left side (facing the speakers). I had to use a Meross outdoor smart plug to be able to turn them on and off. If you absolutely must have rock speakers, get the non-amplified ones and wire them to a receiver inside the house.

Nice stereo sound
I mounted them at the top corners of my 24’ front porch. The speaker wire that came with, just barely reached but they sound great.

Good product for the price
Easy to set up and connect to BT, sound quality is so so but good enough for the price. Can install at semi outdoor as long as not under direct rain.

Sounds great
Tested them inside to make sure they worked, didn't sound so great. Installed them on the deck and there is a huge improvement in sound quality, and loud enough to be heard all over the yard. After several heavy rain storms, no issues.

I’m really happy with these.
I have these mounted outdoors in our hot tub area. It is out of the elements, but have used for over a year without issue. Now I have these an opposite ends of the hot tub room and the speaker wire wasn’t long enough, but that’s not the fault of The manufacture. I think it came with 10 or 12 feet, but I need it over 20. In the end, not a big deal and I’m really happy with the sound quality and the way it easily compares to my iPhone from music. It’s a great product, don’t hesitate to purchase.
