Long Range Illumination, focussed beam penetrates smoke and dust/airborne particles like no other LED I've seen.
Living out in the country where there's no street lighting and plenty of bumps in the night that make me go out to check on my horses/stock, I've accumulated a pretty good portfolio of quality LED lights. LED lighting is a boon, providing plenty of illumination with very little current, so it's possible to have very bright lights in a very small package. However, I've found a downside to LED lights is they reflect back from any airborne particles--dust, smoke, moisture, rain, snow--much more than their incandescent predecessors (and in fact, halogen fog lights remain the best choice for the vehicles). Now to this Odear light: for some reason this Odear light, with its single LED light source but nicely contoured reflector producing a tightly focused beam, punches through with a minimum of glare. I've got another light with five of the very same LEDs as the single LED in this Odear, and a side by side comparison is amazing: the multiple LED light does put out more light overall, but much of it is dispersed and there's a good amount of glare (off the wildfire smoke that presently occupies the air). The Odear light isn't dispersed, and it punches right through. I'd in our present conditions conditions where there's very thick smoke from a nearby wildfire, the Odear is able to illuminate clearly up to 200 yards, while the other light can't penetrate past 100 yards. I'll also add, reducing reflected glare has obvious advantages for reducing the amount that using a light at night reduces your night vision. The downside to this Odear light is the weight, but it is easy to live with it for the functionality it provides.

Nice buy
Bright light. For when you need to see during zero light situations. I have several pocket sized headlamps that don’t come close to this. Other models similar to this item were more expensive or had short battery life. I took this in a few caves it was my main lamp except when I saw other approaching I switched to my secondary smaller headlamp to be courteous. This lamp shines a clear beam about 50-100 yards of zero light situations (caves, canyons, remote Forrest’s in my experience) depending on air quality. Prior to purchase I read a review stating a 12 hour life. I have not been tested eager to test this but it has lasted 2-3 hours at a time. Pros: provides enough light to view your surroundings in dark situations reliably up to 50yds, I would expect 100 yds in ideal conditions. Good battery life on full charge. Price. Weather resistant I got mine splashed generously a couple time. High & Low mode. Cons- charger cable skinny, hollow, round.. my own fault but I misplaced mine. Beam is not adjustable. Would recommend

this thing is bright and easily puts out a solid concentrated beam out to 100 ...
Wow, this thing is bright and easily puts out a solid concentrated beam out to 100 yards. The battery in my unit lasted about 5-1/2 hours on high before it started to go dim - THIS WAS OUT OF THE BOX AND BEFORE I CHARGED IT! It came with a 110 volt charger and a charging cord to plug into a USB port. I am definitely going to buy another one before frogging season next year! I will agree that it is big and a bit heavy, but that can be overlooked if you are looking for a bright light - it's not too uncomfortable. The battery pack is just behind the light. If the pack was behind the head and the light was in the front - it would be perfect! HINT, HINT!!!!!! IF you are looking for a light to see close objects, this light is not for you, but if you need to see objects farther away, this is the perfect light. My buddy went with us and had a flashlight and was showing me how bright it was, but when I showed him this light and turned it on, he put his up! His $100 light put out no where near the light this headlamp puts out. Pictures show the light beam on a water tower about 100 yards away, picture of shed is 20 yards, then you can see the light fitted on my head (profile). UPDATE 11-18-19 - the headlamp is still working on the original batteries. I use the light about 6-8 nights a year and has been flawless every time i have needed it.

like a piece of the sun on your head but you may need to keep an eye on the strap
I bought this to use for frog hunting, coon hunting and night fishing in a boat. I think it will suit me just fine. Hope it lasts, but only time will tell. It is super bright. Has 2 light settings ( high and low) the low is still very bright. Have used coon lights that had heavy batteries and long chords in the past. They cost between 100 to 200 dollars. This LED headlamp is just as bright or brighter than the them. It stays cool to the touch after using it for a long period of time. That is a plus. It is a true spot light with a very tight beam. If you want a wide beam, this light is not the one for you. The only way to make this light better would be to add a lower beam setting or rheostat to control the brightness better and have the battery on the rear of the head strap with the light head on the front. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase 4/18/2016 UPDATE- Used it the first time this past weekend on a coon hunt. Worked great. For the majority of the hunt I used the low setting. Only clicked it on high once the dog treed and I was looking for the coon in the tree. Once I got home tried to fine tune the head band and the looped end that was sewn, broke. I looped the fabric and secured it with glue and sewed it back. We will see how it works now. Reduced the rating from 5 to 4 stars because without the headband it is a flash light.

Como cualquier otra linterna, mismo led que otras más baratas y muy grande y estorbosa. No cumple con la distancia ni iluminación que dice
