I just adored Plus’s story! I devoured this book so fast, pretty sure I didn’t get anything done. What I loved was how there was a good balance between the heavy topics, the romance, and the dramatic things. This touched heavily on sexual assault, rape, generational curses, and substance abuse. Those parts were raw- my heart ached. I loved how Plus knew Tashena was for him, although, she tried so hard to not give into being with him. The chase was cute and much appreciated. Very good read!

Good story about moving
I'm new to reading this author's work, but after reading Plus, I had to go to her catalogue. Plus was a really good story. It dealt with over-coming obstacles, dealing with childhood trauma and how to learn to trust and move on.I so, so loved Kinney. He was strong, but patient. He knew what he and who he wanted, and didn't waiver. There were times where Tasha really got on my nerves. She came across as immature and in the beginning I thought the couple was younger than late 30's with some of their actions and conversations. There were a few misspellings and wrong gender or names, but nothing to take away from their story.

Worth the read
I've read other books by this author that I absolutely love. This one took some time and patience because Tashena was a lot to handle. I totally understand that she was victimized and had to work through her trauma. She put Kenny through the ringer because her childhood was stolen and he was so closely connected to that traumatic experience. He was the perfect match for her though, with the right amount of patience and love. Overall good read, though not my favorite.

Kenny and Shena
My only complaints are the grammatical errors I noticed, the repetitive use of the phrase "like a moth to a flame", and the female narrator (audible) was monotone and failed to keep my attention. I literally stopped listening and decided to read the book because it was that bad.

Great first read
I've noticed this author before but never got around to reading he stories. This was a great introduction. I noticed some characters that had to have been previously introduced but it's ok, not knowing then only makes me want to go back and find their stories. I loved McKinley and Tashena. Their love for each offer ran deep and held true through so many different stages of life. It was fitting that they were able to come clean of their secrets together and it was crazy how they all led back to one person. Great testament to how our communities think we're doing a service to our family's by being "loyal" but really are doing a disservice. If only 1 of the first people would have told, several people could have been saved pain.

Plus one...
I read this book because I follow another great author Mrs. Monica Walters and she suggested it. Mrs. Scales did not disappoint. This book had my attention from start to finish. It was a page-turner. It was so many sensitive issues and topics touched throughout the book. For a man to have a crush and to know a woman was 'his rib' for twenty-two years were just mind-blowing. McKinley knew that Tashena was his wife and once he started to pursue he went for the win. They made a beautiful couple because they both grew up in 'the struggle' as well as the hood. They knew where they came from and how hard to work to accomplish their goals in life.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would not mind a sequel. I would love to see McKinley's mother finally admit all of her demons, how the tour goes with 'The Crew,' if Tashena is pregnant with more than one baby, Taya and Jock's relationship unfold, and how Phalin and Seth's pregnancy goes. I most definitely recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book...but what in the world was that ending?! I have questions! and they weren't answered.***SPOILERS BELOW***Its clear from her actions in the book that Shena loved Plus, but regarldess of how many times he said it to her, she never said the words back. And not like you have to TELL someone you love them constantly, but it is a bit weird that she didn't say it a single time throughout the book. And I thought that maybe she had a reason related to the trauma she endured as a child, but then the book ended and nothing ever came of it!Also what happened with the baby? or Babies! Kenny kept mentioning multiples like he just KNEW she was going to have more than one...but the book ends before we even get to see the children come to be...which is again, fine but i'm just confused about the lack of payoff from what I assumed was foreshadowing. Also we never get to see or get Taya's thoughts on her mom being pregnant. Kenny just made the announcement for the whole world and then several pages later, without anyones reaction to the news really...the book ends.***END OF SPOILERS***I'm just REALLY confused as to the timing of the ending of the book. Like what happened? I feel like Sabrina was in the process of writing the last few pages of the final chapter and then had to stop because of a catastrophic, world ending event or something lolAnyway, besides the ending, I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and the way their stories were entertwined. I loved the idea of love found, lost, and then found again. I liked how even though Kenny is this world renowned superstar, he was still humble and just your regular dude from the hood that still looked out for his city and his people. There was a little bit of angst included (i'm not a big fan of angst) but it was resovled very quickly so it didn't bother me TOO much. All in all a solid read! BUT THAT ENDING THOOO 😕.

A lot to unpack
I enjoyed the story of Plus and Teshena. It was a lot to unpack however with the heaviness of the underlying story of paedophilia. Plus and Teshena were two broken people who managed to find one another after several years apart. I'm glad they she a stopped running from their demons long enough to love on another. Great readq!
